Story
Zeus is such a nice guy. He’s sweet-tempered and cuddly. He knows the basic commands such as “sit”. I really wish I could keep him. He was left with me temporarily while a family member moved to Texas. After the family member moved, they couldn’t find a house that would allow big dogs so they are not able to take him back. I am not able to keep him as he is a barking breed and I have 2 people with autism in the house that are having a really hard time with the sound. I’m almost positive he’s mixed with a livestock guardian and would be happiest in the country. He’s definitely the protector personality. He just got his annual vaccines and had a check up last month. He goes to the groomer once a month and does great. He’s a great family dog for those who are used to barking. He’s also car-trained and kennel-trained.

Story
Kassidy, my sweet girl, where do I start. You have had it bad since the day you were born and you cannot seem to catch a break. As a puppy you had parvo and you fought so hard to survive and you did. Then you were adopted and taken out of state with your family when they realized their senior dog was not as welcoming to you as they thought. They continued to try but returned you. Then you were adopted again but that too did not work out either, at no fault of your own. So we sent you to the PAW Prison Training Program where you quickly became attached to your handler and he learned how smart you are. You learned many commands such as sit, shake, down, lay, rollover, stay, come, heel, leave it, crawl, get it, sit pretty, and more. So why is Kassidy still available? Because it will take a special person to understand that she wants to be with her people and she is the best girl! She can have some separation anxiety but it is only because she wants to get back to you and that is it. She is not destructive as she just wants to get back to you and her family. With time she is easily taught that you will return and all is well. It will take a special person/family to adopt her. Are you that person?March 11, 2026, 2:39 pm

Story
Meet Snowie! Some dogs give their love to everyone. Snowie saves hers for someone special. This beautiful girl has a thoughtful, loyal heart and is looking for a family who understands that the strongest bonds are worth waiting for. Snowie can be shy when meeting new people, preferring to take her time before letting someone into her circle. But once you've earned her trust, you'll have a devoted companion who will stand by your side through everything. A graduate of our PAWs to Prison training program, Snowie is incredibly well-trained and knows an impressive list of commands including sit, stay, down, come, heel, wait, paw, high five, up, no, and off. She's intelligent, observant, and loves working with someone she trusts. She also has beautiful leash manners, walking calmly and confidently wherever you go. Snowie enjoys playing with other dogs and is social with canine friends, though she prefers to be the one calling the shots. She's naturally protective of the people she loves, making her a loyal companion who is always looking out for her family. Snowie isn't looking for just anyone—she's looking for her person. Someone who will appreciate her gentle spirit, respect the time it takes to earn her trust, and be rewarded with a bond unlike any other. If you're looking for a faithful best friend whose love is deep, unwavering, and lifelong, Snowie may be the one you've been waiting for. July 10, 2026, 6:37 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Buddy first came to us as a young dog in 2014. He was adopted by a man who adored him, and together they built a life full of routine, comfort, and unconditional companionship. Buddy wasn’t just a pet — he was family. He was someone’s shadow, someone’s joy, someone’s reason to smile every single day. Recently, Buddy’s world changed in the most heartbreaking way. His dad passed away, and Buddy found himself back with us… confused, grieving, and trying to understand why the person he loved most isn’t coming back. He's in a foster home now and doing really well. And yet — Buddy’s spirit is still gentle, hopeful, and full of love he’s waiting to give again. Buddy is house trained, well mannered, and wonderfully social with other dogs. He’s great with kids 12+, knows his sit and paw commands, and walks beautifully on a leash. He loves his daily outings, and nothing makes his eyes light up like a ball. He loves a good squeaky toy too. That simple game brings him pure joy. He’s sweet, affectionate, and playful, but also wise in the way only a dog who has truly loved and lost can be. He bonds deeply. He notices kindness. He appreciates gentleness. He feels everything. What Buddy needs now is someone who will give him what he once had: a home where he is cherished, understood, and loved without conditions. Someone who will let him heal. Someone who will let him belong again. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you with his whole soul… Buddy is waiting. GrandPaws applies to any dog age 7 years or older. The adoption fees are reduced to help offset veterinary costs that occur as dogs age.  If you would like to adopt a GrandPaws please complete our online application at www.cvrr.usVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2026, 3:46 pm
