Kassidy, my sweet girl, where do I start. You have had it bad since the day you were born and you cannot seem to catch a break. As a puppy you had parvo and you fought so hard to survive and you did. Then you were adopted and taken out of state with your family when they realized their senior dog was not as welcoming to you as they thought. They continued to try but returned you. Then you were adopted again but that too did not work out either, at no fault of your own. So we sent you to the PAW Prison Training Program where you quickly became attached to your handler and he learned how smart you are. You learned many commands such as sit, shake, down, lay, rollover, stay, come, heel, leave it, crawl, get it, sit pretty, and more. So why is Kassidy still available? Because it will take a special person to understand that she wants to be with her people and she is the best girl! She can have some separation anxiety but it is only because she wants to get back to you and that is it. She is not destructive as she just wants to get back to you and her family. With time she is easily taught that you will return and all is well. It will take a special person/family to adopt her. Are you that person?March 11, 2026, 2:39 pm

She showed up on my front lawn in the summer of 2025. We posted on the lost pet pages, but no one has claimed her. She didn't have an microchip but does now. We are fostering her, and we would like to find her a home. We already have 4 dogs and can't keep her. Here's what we know about her: ~ border collie mix. ~ about a year old. ~ had her first round of shots. ~ has been spayed. ~ likes playing with my dogs. ~ likes to cuddle. ~ enjoys going on walks. When she arrived, she took a few days to warm up to us. She was skinny and hungry. If you want to adopt her, please understand that it will take a few days to earn her trust. Meet Abby, a 1-year-old Border Collie mix weighing about 50 pounds. 🐾 She appears to be a Border Collie mix to us, but that’s always just our best guess based on looks. Abby is a very sweet girl who can be shy with new people and has what we call a little “stranger danger.” She takes some time to warm up, but once she feels comfortable, she settles in nicely. Abby is also not a needy dog, making her a great match for someone who prefers a more independent companion. Abby was surrendered to our local shelter when she was still very young, back in July, and spent a few months there before we were able to bring her to ACT. While we don’t know much about her early life, she has done well since coming into our care. Abby really enjoys other dogs and gains confidence from them. She would likely do best in a home with another friendly dog and will happily become a best friend for your current pup. 🐶 Abby is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her age-appropriate vaccines. 🏡 She’s looking for a patient home that will give her time to adjust and continue building confidence. If you’re looking for a sweet, dog-friendly companion who isn’t overly demanding, Abby may be a great fit.
