Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Jamison aka Jamie is an almost 6-year-old, 65lb. female border collie/border collie mix whose person passed away. This sweet girl is good with all dogs large and small; she previously lived with a cat and does great with kids. Current kids in her foster home are ages 4, 7, 10 and 14.  She is house trained and crate trained, walks well on a leash, sleeps through the night in her open crate, and rides well in a car. She knows basic commands of sit, stay and paw. This medium-energy girl loves to be outside with you, and we are requiring a fenced yard for her. She absolutely loves dog toys. Her favorites are soccer balls and footballs. She loves playing fetch, and she will bring the ball back to you as you can see in her video. Even though she is good with kids, herding breed dogs such as Jamie may want to herd small children, so small toddlers would probably not be best for her. She also is a very intelligent breed, and will need someone who can provide the time for daily mental stimulation activities such as advanced treat puzzles, shell games with cups, DIY indoor scent searches, muffin tin and tennis ball games, and targeted trick-training sessions. This is not a breed that can be left to just lie around while you work or be left home alone. She will need someone who is home more often than not. She will also need regular brushing and grooming.  She does need to be fed separately because she tends to get growly when another dog approaches while she is eating. She has no issues with another dog when treats are doled out. She is fearful during storms, fireworks and some other loud noises and will retreat to her crate or find a safe hiding spot. Jamie is an amazing dog - she is very loving and has a great personality. Whoever adopts her will be a very lucky family. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Jamison, please complete an app and tell us more about your family.  September 8, 2026, 1:01 pm

Story
I adopted Didi in Nashville, TN in Nov 2020. She had been at the shelter since Jan. She came in pregnant. Her entire litter was adopted - but she was not. She is skiddish and refused to be in a crate. She would self harm to get out. We moved to Florida in Dec 2021 and she adjusted ok. She has anxiety about being alone and thunder. She has been to training to help with being in a crate and to assist with her anxiety of being alone while I'm at work. My work schedule has only increased and me working from home is not an option. She needs someone who will be home or with another dog. I can not get another dog. She is completely house trained, walks on leash (no pulling), and listens on basic commands. She is not motivated by food or toys - only by not being alone. It's not fair to her due to my work schedule.

Story
Meet Mamacita, the 58-pound bundle of joy who's mastered the art of relaxation! At just 3 years old, she's the perfect medium-energy companion who loves nothing more than leisurely strolls around the play yard, with her nose to the ground and her human by her side. A true foodie, Mamacita's heart can easily be won with treats, and her wiggles of joy when asked for pets are absolutely heart-melting. She's eager to please and dreams of a forever family who appreciates the simple pleasures in life. Mamacita would love to be your one and only fur baby, ready to bring endless cuddles and calm to your home. Adopt this sweet girl, and you'll have a loyal friend for life! Mamacita was rescued from living outside on a heavy chain without access to food, water or reasonable shelter. Her previous owner was arrested for animal cruelty. Mamacita loves the people who she trusts and is incredibly loyal and needs a forever home that will love her back just as much. She's amazing and is so ready to have her own forever home.
