Story
Hi, I’m Shadow. I’m a 3½yearold, 33pound Australian Shepherd who likes to ease into new friendships. I’m quiet, observant and happiest when I can take my time deciding when to step forward. Once I feel safe, I greet my people with soft enthusiasm and a gentle tail wag that says I’m glad you’re here. Favorite Things: Shadow enjoys cozy blankets, calm spaces and the freedom to relax without pressure. He’s not much of a toy fan and prefers doing his own thing, but once he’s comfortable, he settles nearby with quiet contentment. Training and Manners: He is house trained with regular outdoor breaks. Shadow walks nicely on a leash, rides politely in the car and sleeps in his dog bed at night. He’s still learning some basic manners, but he responds well to patient guidance. When left alone, he’s trustworthy; he simply gathers a blanket or two to build the perfect nap spot. Health and Care: Shadow is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. He’ll need monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. He does shed, so regular brushing keeps his coat comfortable and helps him feel his best. Other Animals: He does well with dogs of all sizes. He hasn’t met cats yet, but his calm nature suggests he may do fine with a slow introduction. Children: Shadow hasn’t lived with kids before. He should do well with older, dogsavvy children (10+) who understand his demeanor. Ideal Home: He would do well in an apartment, condo or townhome with regular outings. Shadow thrives in a quiet, predictable home with patient people who understand shy dogs. He doesn’t enjoy being approached directly, but when given space, he chooses connection on his own terms. Overall: Shadow is a gentle, introverted companion who blossoms slowly but deeply. He’s independent, lowkey and easy to live with, especially for someone who appreciates a calm, observant dog. Once he trusts you, he greets you with genuine warmth and settles into your life just as his name promises softly, steadily and always close by. Could Shadow be the one you’ve been looking for? Then head to www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like a match, his foster family will contact you. His adoption donation is $400. ##2623466##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application Harper is a 2 year old owner surrender that spent the first 2 years of her life in an outdoor kennel. She is doing great in her foster home a little afraid of new surroundings but adapted and quit hiding after 3 days. She has warmed up to the family kids and dog in her foster home. She is learning that life in the house isn't so bad. This is what her foster mom had to say: Harper is a 2 year old Aussie with a gentle heart and so much potential. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality really starts to shine. Harper is eager to learn and truly wants to connect with her person, she just needs a little patience and encouragement to blossom. She loves going on walks and enjoys having a routine. As a typical Aussie, she's smart and attentive, and she'll thrive with someone who can continue building her confidence and giving her positive guidance. Harper is both house trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to a home. Harper does well with other dogs and would likely benefit from a confident canine companion. She's also good with older kids who understand that she may need a little time to warm up. Her ideal home would be a calm, patient household committed to helping her grow into the amazing dog she's meant to be. In return, Harper will give you loyalty, quiet companionship, and the joy of watching a shy girl come out of her shell. If you're looking for a smart, sensitive, and loving best friend, Harper might be your perfect matchVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 19, 2026, 9:10 am
