🐢 Cowabunga, dudes! We've got a special news report from the Turtle Lair! 🐢 Leonardo: "Attention, team! We'd like to introduce someone pretty awesome—this is April! She's a 7-year-old, 57-pound Border Collie who's spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her vaccines." Michelangelo: "She came in as a stray, but trust me, this girl deserves a totally tubular forever home... and maybe a snack or two. Actually, make that ALL the snacks!" Donatello: "Confirmed. April is highly motivated by food and treats, making positive reinforcement an excellent training strategy. Additional discovery: she absolutely loves playing in water! Splashing around is one of her favorite side quests." Raphael: "She can be friendly, but she's got opinions—and honestly, I respect that. She's not always comfortable around men, and she doesn't always click with other dogs, so she'll need a mandatory meet and greet with any potential canine roommates." Michelangelo: "Hey, everybody's got their preferences! Mine's pizza. Hers? Treats and making the biggest splash possible!" Leonardo: "As a senior girl, April is looking for a family that understands she's earned the right to take life at her own pace. Give her patience, respect, a few tasty treats, and maybe a kiddie pool, and you'll have a loyal teammate for life." All the Turtles: "If you're ready to give this amazing girl the happy ending she deserves, come meet April. Trust us... this is one mission you'll be glad you accepted! Cowabunga! 🐾💚"

Story
🐻‍❄️ A Royal Announcement from Bjorn the Polar Bear 🧊👑 Greetings, humans! I'm Bjorn, official best friend to the legendary Ice King. I've traveled across snowy tundras (okay... maybe just my imagination) to tell you why this 9-month-old Welsh Corgi/Border Collie mix deserves a kingdom of his own. Ice King may only weigh 24 pounds, but don't let his size fool you—he has the heart of a true adventurer. He came to the shelter as a stray, so some of his story is still a mystery. What I do know is that he's a sweet young pup who's ready to trade his wandering days for a forever family. Like any good king, Ice King likes to make sure everyone gets along, so he'll need a mandatory meet and greet with any dogs already living in your castle. Before he heads home, he'll be neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations. All that's missing now... is you. So if you're searching for a loyal sidekick to join your adventures—whether they're across frozen kingdoms or just around the neighborhood—I give Ice King two giant polar paws of approval. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an important snowbank to supervise. Good luck, Your Majesty! 🐻‍❄️❄️🐶

Story
We are having to rehome Ollie as our living situation does not allow more dogs. Ollie loves to play, and would do best with a companion dog in the home, as he can suffer from separation anxiety when he is home alone. He very sociable with all ages. He loves water enjoys to run, jump, and play fetch. As a young dog, does not understand where he is in relation to people yet when moving, and sometimes bowls past small children in his excitement. He knows basic commands, such as sit, here, stay/"here" and has been trained to sit prior to eating before being released. He is very gentle and loves to snuggle at times. He can use some quality training including on a leash. No issues with allergies. He is well housetrained and will sit by the door and "trill" when he needs to go outside. He will do his business quickly and come back on command. We were introducing short off leash training where he would stay close and for example go to the car. He loves car rides. He is very eager to please.

Story
Meet Astro! 🚀 If your idea of a perfect day involves hiking trails, tossing toys, learning new tricks, and having a loyal sidekick by your side, Astro might just be your guy. Astro is a 1.5-year-old Border Collie mix with a big heart, a sharp mind, and enough enthusiasm to make every day an adventure. He loves toys, loves treats, and absolutely loves spending time with his people. Whether you’re teaching him a new cue or playing fetch in the backyard, Astro is happiest when he’s part of the action. Like many clever young herding dogs, Astro is still polishing his manners, but he’s an incredibly quick learner and eager to work for both food and praise. He can sometimes be a little unsure of new things and may bark to let you know he’s noticed something suspicious. **Give him a chance to investigate, though, and he quickly realizes the world isn’t so scary after all.** Astro is looking for an active home—ideally with herding breed experience—that will keep both his body and his brain busy. In return, you’ll get a sweet, affectionate companion who is ready to be your adventure buddy and training partner. Astro is: 🐾 Good with other dogs 🐾 Good with dog-savvy cats 🐾 Good with kids (older kids recommended because his excitement can accidentally knock over little ones) 🐾 Friendly with people 🐾 Crate trained 🐾 Neutered 🐾 Up to date on vaccines Astro isn’t looking for a couch potato lifestyle—he’s looking for a teammate. If you’re ready for a smart, fun-loving dog who will keep you smiling and always be up for the next adventure, Astro is ready to launch into his forever home. Astro's adoption fee is $350 and includes neuter, vaccinations and microchip. If interested in meeting Astro please complete an application located here: https://idawg.org/application

Story
Meet Socks! 🐾 This sweet Kelpie mix is looking for a new home where she can put her energy and playful personality to good use. Socks is a friendly girl who loves attention, pets, cuddles, and spending time with her people. She enjoys playing with rope toys and would love an active family who can help her stay busy and continue learning. Socks is a smart, energetic pup who would benefit from some basic training and a little patience as she builds confidence. She can be shy around new people and may get nervous in unfamiliar situations, but she does well with women and warms up with time. When meeting strangers, she may bark or have nervous accidents while she’s trying to figure things out. Socks has lived successfully with cats and enjoys playing with other dogs. However, she has been known to resource guard her food and water from other dogs, so she would do best with slow introductions, supervision around shared resources, and a family willing to continue helping her build positive habits. Socks has done well with children ages 6 and up. Because she is an active dog who loves to explore, she will need a secure yard and a family committed to helping her feel safe and fulfilled. To meet Socks, please reach out to Emily at 208-807-4708 or 208-695-4357 (both text only).
