Story
Meet Kylo: The Spirited Collie/Newfie Mix! Breed: Collie/Newfie Mix Age: 6-7 years Weight: 70 pounds Adoption Fee: WAIVED Kylo is a 70-pound ball chaser with a heart full of energy! She knows commands like sit, shake, down, and stay, showcasing her intelligence. Kylo is a social butterfly who believes personal space is overrated—she thinks she's a lap dog and loves being close to her human. Her ideal home is an active one that understands the balance between her love for activity and the joy of naps. While she's good in the car with a seatbelt and walks nicely on a leash, she does have some quirks. Kylo prefers to be an only child, so a home where she's the only pet is ideal. She's been known to chase away squirrels and birds, showing off her protective instincts. Kylo is a vocal companion, barking at strangers and howling when she's lonely. She warms up quickly with attention but may need time to adjust to new male friends. Her foster home includes a bearded husband, and they've become best buddies. This diva has a beautiful, flowy coat that requires regular brushing—she's a bit of a shedder, but it's a small price to pay for the love she'll bring to the right family. Kylo would thrive in a home with experienced pet parents, preferably without young children under 10 due to her sensitivity to loud noises. Ready to welcome this spirited girl into your home? Apply to adopt Kylo and let the adventures begin! Adoption Application: https://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/

Story
I adopted Daisy in February of 2021 from my local shelter. A month or so after I got her home, she started having reactivity issues. She has been in private training since October 2021 and has done a 3 week board and train to manage this reactivity. She has shown much improvement in terms of how long it takes her to warm up to new people as well as with her obedience. Daisy is okay with bigger dogs but does not do well with smaller dogs she is not used to. She tends to keep to herself and will only play when she wants to play - much like a cat. Daisy is trained with an e-collar, kennel trained and does well on walks I have worked hard to get her where she is today in regards to her reactivity. I am looking for an adopter who has experience working with reactive dogs and who will be patient and continue to work with her. Once she warms up she is a loyal loving snuggly girl.

Story
Fin is a 7 year old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd. He loves to play fetch with a tennis ball. He's a very sweet and loyal dog. He needs more attention and energy output than we are able to give him. He has a few quirks relating to sounds, and gets scared during thunderstorms. Another quirk is that he sucks on a blanket still (yes, at 7 years old!). We thought he would grow out of it, but he hasn't. Fin needs to be able to play and run and our work schedules and sports schedules have us travelling and away from home a lot. He simply needs more attention and activity than we are able to provide. He is ok with other dogs, mostly doesn't care about them. He is possessive over his ball however. He will let a doggy friend know not to touch it. Won't bite, but bares his pearly whites. Ok with cats. We have a cat and they tolerate each other. He is the kindest sweetest guy. I really want him to have a better life with someone who can train him and do a lot with him. He deserves it.

Story
Angel is the sweetest most loving dog in the world. She's fully vaxed, spayed, and very well trained (minus her poor leash manners) For the first half of her life, she grew up on a farm and was the happiest a dog could be. With my lifestyle changes over the recent years, I haven't been able to fully care for her like she needs. Im out of the house regularly and I cant take her with me. Im looking for a family who can pay her regular attention, has room for her to run and play, and can love her like I have over the years. If you have any questions about her, please reach out. Me and her thank you so much for your consideration.

Pete is full of love for everyone and everything he meets. He just melts our hearts! He loves to be by his persons side all the time. Pete also loves to be held like a baby in your arms. He can even twirk. lol Pete has lots of energy and will do best with a family who is active. He is water and ball crazy. He listens well and can easily go places with you whether walks and hikes and enjoy events. He needs to have a canine buddy he can play with. He is friendly with all and any dog but some can get annoyed by his energetic manner. He is good with cats. Pete is fully trained plus some and him doing tricks is adorable. He would be a fantastic sports dog in disk, rally, agility etc. Pete was having a hard time in his crate when watching other dogs go by and he had to stay behind but as soon as he got into a foster home with fewer dogs, he did great and will often choose the crate for nap time of his own volition. Pete is a 1 1/2 year old border collie. If you’re interested in adopting Pete please fill out a pre adoption application on the link below. Story
We adopted Stella in January 2018. Shortly after adopting her I reached out to the rescue about if she had been treated for fleas - well, it turns out she was so itchy because she seems to have skin allergies. We have been trying to manage this now for 6 years and it just seems to be getting progressively worse. We have tried allergy meds, anxiety meds, steroids, etc. Prescription food may make a big difference - but it’s not something we can afford at this time. We have been struggling with various meds for Stella the last 6 months to get her to stop chewing her hair out. She had a “spinal stroke” a few months ago but recovered fully. She’s currently on apoquel, but I’m not convinced it’s the best medication for her. Her vet wants her off prednisone though due to long term risks. We are at a loss and don’t have mental or emotional capacity. She needs someone who can focus on finding the right balance of meds. This is a chronic condition that may improve, but will never be “cured.”

Story
Oreo was found on Craiglist we took her in. What we didn't realize is that Border Collie dogs are hyper active and are outside dogs. She needs a home where she has room to run and play outside. She is mainly an outside dog. She is pretty much house trained if she stays outside she will be fine. She is not up to date on her shots. I've ran into some financial trouble so haven't been able to afford it. She is a very nervous dog. She is also not leash trained. She doesn't like other dogs she is scared of them.

Story
Meet Kala, a female, 1.5-year-old, Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog Mix. She weighs 47 pounds.Kala arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender. Her previous owners described her as friendly, affectionate, loving, playful, hyperactive, protective, and confident. Kala has done well with other dogs and cats. She is house trained and crate trained. Kala also tends to do best with women. "She is a great dog. She just needs a home with older children. I would say 10+. She deserves a home where she can thrive and be happy. She loves to be outdoors, she would be wonderful for hikes!"Kala will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. She would do best with a slow and proper introduction with any cats at home.Kala is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and ready to go home today. The shelter is currently open by appointment only. Fill out an application to schedule an appointment today!

Story
If you're looking for a well-rounded companion, look no further than Alfie! He's just as content curling up next to you (or on your lap) while watching a movie as he is playing tug-o-war. He enjoys being outside and smelling new things on his walks. He is completely unfazed by squirrels, great on a slip leash, and would make a great running buddy! Alfie is always down for a road trip and recently had a blast at the beach with his foster mom! He loads up easily to "get up or "up and knows other basic commands. He's house trained and sleeps in a kennel if needed. His best friend is his foster brother, Oliver, who is a 4 year old, 70 lb Catahoula mix. Alfie tends to get along best with younger dogs that are submissive and playful like Oliver. We suggest a meet n greet with resident dogs. He has been great with children (5+) who have come up to pet him, gently licking their faces. Alfie seems to be under the impression that he's supposed to catch a ball with his paws instead of his mouth. He hasn't quite mastered that method, so he just ends up losing track of the ball and making everyone laugh at his goofy quirk. He also loves to be petted and will nudge you if you stop, indicating that you're not done petting him just yet! The ideal home for Alfie would be a house with a fenced yard. He loves being in the same room as his human(s). He's currently left inside for 6-8 hours a day, sleeping by the door or on the couch until his foster gets home. He gets excited to go to sleep in his kennel at night. Alfie doesn't know he's 50lbs, as that doesn't stop him from wanting to be held or cradled like a baby. His foster mom says he is the sweetest boy whose big brown eyes tell you that he just wants to be included in the family, knowing he'll never be left on his own again. All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday). We only adopt in the USA. We are open to adopting in other states, except in Massachusetts. There are quarantine laws for MA and until these laws change, we are not able to adopt into MA.

Story
Meet Arnie! A charming 4-5 month old shepherd mix, Arnie is a bundle of boundless energy and affection waiting to grace your home with his infectious enthusiasm and unwavering loyalty. Arnie is the true definition of a "people-pleaser - he loves to be near to his humans! He can't wait to see his people, and lives for pets and words of praise! One of Arnie's most endearing qualities is his love for people, and he has been sweet and gentle with the children that he has met. His tail never stops wagging when he's around them, and his playful antics bring smiles to faces of all ages. He loves to toss himself on his back and beg for tummy scratches. Arnie sleeps at night in a pen, and he does well at night, sleeping quietly with night-time accidents few and far between. He spends around 4-6 hours a day alone with his foster brother and keeps himself entertained when alone for long periods of time. Arnie likes climbing into the baby pool full of water for a dip when its warm outside! But Arnie's affection isn't limited to just people-he's a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs too. His friendly disposition and easygoing nature have endeared him to his foster brothers and sister. He is very deferential around other dogs, definitely not striving to be the alpha, and loves to play tug-of-war with his foster brother Grover. Arnie's intelligence shines through in his eagerness to learn and please. He's a quick study when it comes to commands and behaviors. Whether it's mastering a new trick or simply responding to his name, Arnie is always eager to show off his smarts. Arnie is more than ready to embark on the next chapter of his journey-a journey that he hopes will lead him straight into the loving arms of his forever family!

This is Scorpio. This adorable doggie is a very easy going dog.  He loves the outdoors and will be a perfect camping buddy for someone.  He is gets along with other dogs (slow introductions always).  He is crate and leash trained.  He loves his humans.  This boy is ok during car rides too.  He is ready to find his loving home.  Are you his human? Why adopt from Texas? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future. An opportunity to be loved and cared for by good and loving families. There is a reason why we make the trip to your area every two weeks. You are worth the drive. We have AMAZING adopters and we need more like them. We have fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Due to Covid 19 restrictions all Meet & Greets have been cancelled to keep everyone safe. Our adoptable pets are in Houston living with local foster families making the transition into your household a whole lot easier. Our transport company leaves Houston every 2 weeks for Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Colorado & Canada. We will book your baby as soon as adoption & transport fees have been received. www.springbrachrescue.org ##1711245##
