Story
🐢 Cowabunga, dudes! We've got a special news report from the Turtle Lair! 🐢 Leonardo: "Attention, team! We'd like to introduce someone pretty awesome—this is April! She's a 7-year-old, 57-pound Border Collie who's spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her vaccines." Michelangelo: "She came in as a stray, but trust me, this girl deserves a totally tubular forever home... and maybe a snack or two. Actually, make that ALL the snacks!" Donatello: "Confirmed. April is highly motivated by food and treats, making positive reinforcement an excellent training strategy. Additional discovery: she absolutely loves playing in water! Splashing around is one of her favorite side quests." Raphael: "She can be friendly, but she's got opinions—and honestly, I respect that. She's not always comfortable around men, and she doesn't always click with other dogs, so she'll need a mandatory meet and greet with any potential canine roommates." Michelangelo: "Hey, everybody's got their preferences! Mine's pizza. Hers? Treats and making the biggest splash possible!" Leonardo: "As a senior girl, April is looking for a family that understands she's earned the right to take life at her own pace. Give her patience, respect, a few tasty treats, and maybe a kiddie pool, and you'll have a loyal teammate for life." All the Turtles: "If you're ready to give this amazing girl the happy ending she deserves, come meet April. Trust us... this is one mission you'll be glad you accepted! Cowabunga! 🐾💚"

Story
💭 Okay... so picture this... 💭 There's this super cute Border Collie mix named Lizzie... and she's looking for her forever home! Hi! I'm Lizzie! I'm 1 year old, 46 pounds, and before I head home I'll be spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccines. I came to the shelter as a stray, so my backstory is kind of a mystery... dramatic pause... but my future? Oh, it's looking pretty amazing. I'm a friendly girl who has already figured out one of life's greatest truths: treats are awesome. Seriously, if you've got snacks, you've already unlocked bonus friendship points. 🍖✨ I'm ready for my next big adventure with a family who'll love me, spoil me, and maybe keep a few treats in their pocket for emergencies. (You know... very important emergencies.) Narrator voice: And just like that... Lizzie found the family she'd been dreaming about all along. Could that family be yours? 💖

Story
Meet Astro! 🚀 If your idea of a perfect day involves hiking trails, tossing toys, learning new tricks, and having a loyal sidekick by your side, Astro might just be your guy. Astro is a 1.5-year-old Border Collie mix with a big heart, a sharp mind, and enough enthusiasm to make every day an adventure. He loves toys, loves treats, and absolutely loves spending time with his people. Whether you’re teaching him a new cue or playing fetch in the backyard, Astro is happiest when he’s part of the action. Like many clever young herding dogs, Astro is still polishing his manners, but he’s an incredibly quick learner and eager to work for both food and praise. He can sometimes be a little unsure of new things and may bark to let you know he’s noticed something suspicious. **Give him a chance to investigate, though, and he quickly realizes the world isn’t so scary after all.** Astro is looking for an active home—ideally with herding breed experience—that will keep both his body and his brain busy. In return, you’ll get a sweet, affectionate companion who is ready to be your adventure buddy and training partner. Astro is: 🐾 Good with other dogs 🐾 Good with dog-savvy cats 🐾 Good with kids (older kids recommended because his excitement can accidentally knock over little ones) 🐾 Friendly with people 🐾 Crate trained 🐾 Neutered 🐾 Up to date on vaccines Astro isn’t looking for a couch potato lifestyle—he’s looking for a teammate. If you’re ready for a smart, fun-loving dog who will keep you smiling and always be up for the next adventure, Astro is ready to launch into his forever home. Astro's adoption fee is $350 and includes neuter, vaccinations and microchip. If interested in meeting Astro please complete an application located here: https://idawg.org/application

Story
Fate's adoption is pending. She is getting a chance to see if she will work out with a prospective adopter. They took advantage of our Foster - to - Adopt program to give her a try in their own home. Meet Fate - this is what her foster family says about her:   At just 1.5 years old, Fate is a beautiful Border Collie that was found as a stray near Black Canyon Dam, unfortunately her previous owners chose to not reclaim her, but she’s been thriving in her foster home and is now ready to find the forever family she deserves.   Fate is potty trained, crate trained, and loves being close to her people. She’s an active girl who enjoys playing, but she’s equally happy curling up for cuddles at the end of the day. Once she knows you’re her person, she’ll gladly be your shadow and your snuggle buddy.   Fate can be a little nervous and timid when meeting new people. She tends to warm up to women more quickly, but with a gentle, patient approach, she learns to trust men as well. Once she feels safe, her loving and affectionate personality shines through.   Fate does well with other dogs when given a proper, slow introduction and she is neutral towards cats. She would thrive in a home that understands she may need a little time to settle in and build confidence.   If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward your patience with endless love, Fate may be the missing piece you’ve been searching for.   Female | 1.5 years old | Border Collie Potty Trained & Crate Trained Dog Friendly with Slow Introductions Neutral Toward Cats Sweet, Active, and Cuddly   Since she is currently in foster, please call ahead if you would like to meet her so we can arrange for the fostered to bring her in.
