Story
We adopted Stella in January 2018. Shortly after adopting her I reached out to the rescue about if she had been treated for fleas - well, it turns out she was so itchy because she seems to have skin allergies. We have been trying to manage this now for 6 years and it just seems to be getting progressively worse. We have tried allergy meds, anxiety meds, steroids, etc. Prescription food may make a big difference - but it’s not something we can afford at this time. We have been struggling with various meds for Stella the last 6 months to get her to stop chewing her hair out. She had a “spinal stroke” a few months ago but recovered fully. She’s currently on apoquel, but I’m not convinced it’s the best medication for her. Her vet wants her off prednisone though due to long term risks. We are at a loss and don’t have mental or emotional capacity. She needs someone who can focus on finding the right balance of meds. This is a chronic condition that may improve, but will never be “cured.”

Story
Meet Baxter Description: Baxter is bout 6-years old and weighs 53 pounds. He is a lively and affectionate Heeler Border Collie mix with boundless energy and a heart of gold. With his striking appearance and charismatic personality, Baxter is sure to capture the hearts of anyone he meets. Temperament: Baxter is a spirited and outgoing companion who loves nothing more than being in the company of his human friends. He is house trained and adept at using a doggie door, making him an excellent choice for families seeking a fun-loving pet. He has demonstrated friendliness towards other dogs and would likely thrive in a household with canine companions. However, his compatibility with cats and livestock is uncertain. Ideal Home: Baxter is seeking an active and loving home where he can receive plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and companionship. An active family or individual who enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, jogging, or playing fetch in the yard would be an ideal match for him.  Adoption/Foster Application: If you're interested in welcoming Baxter into your home, please contact PAL to arrange a meet-and-greet and discuss adoption and fostering options. If you would like to fill out the form for adopting or fostering, please complete the adoption form here (for adoption) or the foster application here (for fostering). Story
Oreo was found on Craiglist we took her in. What we didn't realize is that Border Collie dogs are hyper active and are outside dogs. She needs a home where she has room to run and play outside. She is mainly an outside dog. She is pretty much house trained if she stays outside she will be fine. She is not up to date on her shots. I've ran into some financial trouble so haven't been able to afford it. She is a very nervous dog. She is also not leash trained. She doesn't like other dogs she is scared of them.

Story
Fin is a 7 year old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd. He loves to play fetch with a tennis ball. He's a very sweet and loyal dog. He needs more attention and energy output than we are able to give him. He has a few quirks relating to sounds, and gets scared during thunderstorms. Another quirk is that he sucks on a blanket still (yes, at 7 years old!). We thought he would grow out of it, but he hasn't. Fin needs to be able to play and run and our work schedules and sports schedules have us travelling and away from home a lot. He simply needs more attention and activity than we are able to provide. He is ok with other dogs, mostly doesn't care about them. He is possessive over his ball however. He will let a doggy friend know not to touch it. Won't bite, but bares his pearly whites. Ok with cats. We have a cat and they tolerate each other. He is the kindest sweetest guy. I really want him to have a better life with someone who can train him and do a lot with him. He deserves it.
