Below is what I sent to the website: Dear IDAWG folks--I have a brother that suddenly passed away 3 weeks ago. He left behind a 6yr old pure-bred Border Collie that I need to find a home for. He is a super good boy who is well trained, knows his commands, and is very loving. Currently he is very sad and doesn't get where his "herder" is. I can't take him and need to find him an appropriate home. It of course has to be a home that "gets" Borders as he constantly herds and is mission focused. Plus he is sad and confused and will need a lot of love and patience. Can you help?

Sage is an almost 3-year-old sweetheart who we’ve loved for the past year and a half. Due to moving and housing changes, we’re no longer able to keep her and are looking for the right home where she can continue to thrive. Sage has a gentle, mellow personality and loves being around people. She’s very friendly, does great with children, and gets along well with other dogs. She is house trained and well-behaved and knows basic commands like sit, lay down, and shake. That said, we want to be fully transparent to help find her the best fit: Sage can be an escape artist and has a tendency to run off if given the opportunity, so she will need a secure yard. She does experience separation anxiety, and because of that, she should not be left alone in the house unattended. She would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Sage is a wonderful dog with so much love to give, and she will thrive in a patient, caring home that understands her needs.

I then was adopted, but returned less than 24 hours later as someone in the house had allergies. Fortunately I was rescued and now am ready for a foster or forever home! He is an outgoing, incredibly smart boy with so much love to give. He has a big personality and an even bigger heart, and he truly thrives on being part of the family. He’s wonderful with kids, cats, and other dogs, and just wants to be included in whatever you’re doing. He has plenty of energy and would do best in an active home that can give him the time, structure, and attention he deserves. He loves the toughest toys you can buy, is always ready for hikes or long walks, and never turns down an adventure. At night, he’s happiest curled up under the covers, sleeping right next to his people. We’re making the difficult decision to rehome him as our growing family can no longer prioritize his needs. He would flourish in a home where he’s deeply loved and truly prioritized —a farm or active household would be a dream for him.Please don’t apply for Nemo if you’re not serious about homing him. Maddie is 13 years old but still energetic and full of life. She loves walks and running in a yard. She's a cattle dog, so she does follow you around, or she will just sit there most of the day near you. Unfortunately, due to declining health and moving, I can't keep her. She's good with other dogs and cats and has lived with both most of her life. The only thing showing her age is her hearing isn't as good as it used to be.

Cooper is loving and very cuddling, goofy, and loves to play. However, he comes with some pretty bad anxiety and needs to be with someone who can keep him busy and be with him most of the time (If you've trained anxious dogs, huge plus) He's very hyper reactive with doorbell, when you leave the house, people coming over, and really any new situation. He does calm down a bit once he settles down but ultimately needs a home where he can have a job to mentally wear him down, & keep him busy (or he'll find trouble to get into). A couple other important notes, - He does well with other dogs. He plays a little rough, but wont hurt them. - He resource guards food from other dogs (we think he used to be starved) - He's terrible at walking because his anxiety is so bad about going places so, again, huge bonus if you have experience training here.

MEET PACO! Sweet, sweet Paco was rescued from the streets of Ensenada, Mexico by a compassionate Canadian couple who could not keep him. He was quite shy at first but warmed up quickly and has blended in super well with the other dogs he has met. He is an affectionate sweetheart and loves nothing more than to snuggle, play and be happy! He's also fully housetrained. Paco is quite mellow but gets super excited when he's getting attention from a favorite human. His love for people and life is so heartwarming and he can't wait to become someone's best friend.Paco is great with other dogs and cats, too, and he weighs about 40 lbs. He is currently in California, but can be transported to Idaho.
