Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. The Center for Animal Rescue and Enrichment (CARE) of St Louis MO is seeking a forever home for Nancy Drew, a young BC mix who has been in their shelter since last September when she was picked up stray in the St Louis area. Nancy is a sweet young dog who is in need of a home where dog behavior is understood and she can receive the training she needs.  Her puppy behaviors of jumping and barking can be managed and the sooner she is adopted and out of the shelter, the sooner that positive training can begin, which will allow Nancy to be the friendly youngster that the shelter workers know. Because of her shelter environment, some things are not known about Nancy:  how she rides in a car, how she behaves around children, etc.  However, her overall personality is that of a dog who wants to learn things and be with people.   If you want to know more about Nancy Drew or make an appointment to meet her, please contact CARE St Louis at adopt@icarestl.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 17, 2026, 2:12 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact stephodellbc@hotmail.com for more information about this pet.  Maeve Fostered in Plymouth, IN ~2 Years Old | Smooth Coat BC × ACD Mix Maeve is a striking black-and-white girl you can’t help but notice. Maeve is a soft, thoughtful dog. She can be cautious with new faces at first, but she warms up with a little time and space. Once she feels safe, she’s affectionate, loyal, and loves being close to her person. A 45-minute car ride would most likely be enough time for Maeve to become comfortable with someone. She may always be a bit suspicious of unfamiliar people, but she settles in quickly and does very well once she knows you. She’s crate trained and housetrained, rides nicely in the car, and does well with other dogs (especially calmer companions). She’s an easy dog to live with once she understands her environment. She’s also great for handling — fine with baths, nail trims, and being touched all over once she’s comfortable. Maeve has a strong instinct to chase squirrels and may rush toward unfamiliar people, so a secure, fenced yard will be important to keep her safe and help prevent unwanted situations. Maeve at a glance: • Beautiful black & white coat — total eye candy • Crate trained & housetrained • Cautious with new people, but warms up reliably • Affectionate and loyal once she knows you • Good with other dogs (prefers calmer companions) • Rides well in the car • Needs a home with a secure, physical fenced yard • Has not been tested with children Maeve will do best in a patient home that lets her settle in at her own pace. Once she does, she’s an easy, devoted companion and a really special dog to have by your side. Please contact  stephodellbc@hotmail.com if you have any questions about Maeve.  You can complete an application to adopt Maeve or any of the dogs on our website at  www.comebyebcrescue.org  .    *** The potential adopter  will get a refund on the Application Fee if it’s determined by the Foster Parent that it’s not a good match for the dog and the dog for them, if we do not process their application.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 17, 2026, 2:12 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Slick is an adult Border Collie whose owner is faced with reducing the number of dogs she has, and so Slick is looking for a forever home.  His owner describes him: "Meet Slick, Slick is an incredible dog with so much love to give. He has a wonderful temperament and gets along beautifully with both dogs and cats. He has an impressive recall, enjoys being with his people, and is the kind of companion who settles into family life with ease. Slick is neutered, fully treated for heartworm, and is now heartworm negative. He has overcome that challenge and is healthy, ready to enjoy the life he deserves. Making the decision to seek a new home for Slick has been one of the hardest choices I've ever had to make. I care about him deeply and never wanted to rehome him. However, as I prepare to move out of my parents' home, I've had to face the reality that I simply have more dogs than I can realistically provide the time, attention, and resources each one deserves. Slick is not being rehomed because of any behavioral issues. He is a wonderful dog who has done absolutely nothing wrong. This decision comes solely from wanting what is best for him. He deserves a family that can give him more one-on-one attention, adventures, and the kind of life that is difficult for me to provide with so many dogs in my care. I am trying everything I can to find him the right placement before it ever comes to that. My hope is that he can find a loving home where he will be cherished as much as he is now, with the opportunity to truly thrive. This is a decision made entirely out of love. More than anything, I want Slick to have the life he deserves." NOTE: Slick will need a patient home that can help with his housetraining issues. Slick's owner can be contacted at a.kelly9842@gmail.com  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 17, 2026, 2:12 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Poppy Seed (Poppy for short) is a 5 year old female BC mix with a rescuer in Columbia, IL, who was able to remove Poppy from a situation in which she was subject to mistreatment.  The rescuer is seeking a forever home for Poppy where she will be loved, trained, and helped to recover from her early years.  Her rescuer describes her: Poppy is an approximately 5 year old Border Collie. She came from a bad home [and needs a home  that will] give her the time and attention she needs. Poppy is very sweet and snuggly, playful, can be independent, easy to please, and is very well behaved when home alone. She learns pretty quickly and enjoys making you happy in her growth. Her favorite toy is the jolly ball or herding ball. She loves to play 'goalie.' Sometimes she asks for 'uppies,' but doesn't like the process of being put back down. LOVES hugs if not okay with 'uppies.' Loves walks and is good on leash. Sometimes can get a bit excited of course, but doesn't pull badly when she is excited. She's been a treat to have around!  Her only real issues are being fearful in the crate, and sometimes with her food. We have been working on this, and she's been doing well! Poppy has not been around children or cats, and she will need to be tested for heartworm and put on monthly preventive. If you want to know more about Poppy or set up a meeting with her, please contact her rescuer at samantha.cuebas5@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 17, 2026, 2:12 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact ebaxter2010@outlook.com for more information about this pet. Meet Shaka – Your Future Best Friend! Are you looking for a loyal, loving, and intelligent companion? Shaka is a beautiful Border Collie Mix who’s ready to fill your life with joy and affection! She adores people and thrives on human interaction, making her the perfect furry friend for someone who wants a devoted sidekick. Shaka is playful and athletic—she loves to run and play, so she’d be happiest in a home with a secure 6-foot privacy fence (no e-fences, please!) where she can safely enjoy her favorite activities. She’s made great progress with resource guarding and is dog selective—she can get along with some female dogs and does well with respectful male dogs. Shaka has only been around a couple of children that were ages 9-11.  She was very good with them.  She has not been exposed to younger children. One of Shaka’s most charming features is her luxurious coat, which is absolutely irresistible for humans to pet and snuggle! She’s sure to bring comfort and warmth to anyone lucky enough to welcome her home. While Shaka has some separation anxiety, she’s responding well to anti-anxiety medication and is looking for a calm, quiet environment where she can feel safe. Loud noises can be a bit scary for her, so a peaceful home is ideal. Shaka is a favorite at the vet’s office thanks to her affectionate nature and sweet personality. She’s searching for an experienced handler who can guide her with love, patience, and praise. With your support, Shaka will continue to blossom and become an even more wonderful companion. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this special girl, Shaka is eager to meet her forever family. She’s 8 years old, weighs about 50 lbs, and is currently located in Urbana, IL. For questions about Shaka, please email cbbcrvolunteers@gmail.com. To learn more about Border Collies and the adoption process, visit www.comebyebcrescue.com. Adoption applications are carefully reviewed to ensure the best match for both Shaka and her new family. If it’s determined she’s not the right fit, your application fee will be refunded if we did not process the application. Story
Looking to find a great new home for our 7 year old full-blooded Australian Shepherd. He’s on the smaller side, neutered, and up to date on shots. He’s a really loving, smart dog with excellent recall and knows basic commands. Unfortunately, with two very young children in our home, he’s shown some aggression toward them, and we don’t feel our home is the right fit for him anymore. We think he would do best in a home with adults and/or older children. He has lived well with our elderly dachshund but has never been around cats, so we’re unsure how he would do with them. He really is a good dog, and we’d love to find him a home where he can thrive.
