To schedule a time to meet her, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Busy girl who is always walking around, following people and checking things out, but once she is tired, she likes to sit on her foster family's lap or beside them and snuggle - Very smart - knows her name now and is learning sit and shake; food-motivated if you have the right treat! - 99% potty trained in her foster home, has had no accidents in her crate and goes potty outside shortly after being taken out; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Goes into her crate very nicely and is quiet in there both when her family leaves and at night - Can be vocal when first meeting new people, but she is quick to warm up; did well visiting her foster family's neighbors recently - they let her take things at her own pace, and she let everyone meet her and pet her without barking once - Can also be vocal around other things that make her uncomfortable, like people's arms making fast/big movements and the vacuum cleaner- Gets along very well with all the dogs in her foster home - she plays/wrestles with the ones that like that and leaves the ones who don't alone; may enjoy and benefit from having a dog friend in her new home The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Friendly little girl who likes to play but LOVES to snuggle - she wants to be a lap dog and will follow you all around the house - Spent time in a foster home and got a good start on potty training, but still uses puppy pads occasionally - Used to being in a kennel at night and when home alone - Did OK with the cats in her foster home, although her foster family said she would "chew on them a little"; may be too much for some cats, so ones who are dog-savvy or very confident might be best - Arrived at the ARL with fractures to two bones in one of her back legs that appear to be healing well and appear to be nonpainful; she is at the point where she can finish healing in a home environment, and we recommend her activity be limited to leash walks only for the next few weeks to allow for full recovery; we encourage you to consult your regular veterinarian prior to adoption if you have questions and can provide X-rays for them to review (more info at ARL) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- New people and things can be scary for her, particularly men, but she recovers pretty well if you let her take things at her own pace; she warmed up to the woman in her foster home within a couple of hours, while it took almost a week for her to be comfortable with the calm, quiet man in the home - Once she has warmed up, she is a laid-back cuddle bug who loves being near her people; recently began wagging her tail in her foster home and getting the zoomies! - Will likely open up even more once she's in a home environment and has had time to decompress - Sights and sounds may startle her if they're new, loud or scary - Knows sit, down and outside; loves treats but responds especially well to praise - Has been fully potty trained in her foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Does well on a leash, but may pull occasionally, especially if she sees other dogs or people - Will likely do best in a quiet home with more mature family members- Has been doing very well with the dog in her foster home and likes snuggling up close to him; generally laid back with other dogs but does have some FOMO - if one dog gets a treat, she wants one at the exact same time; would probably do well with a like-minded dog friend who is not too pushy and is OK with her desire to snuggle (dog intro recommended)- Did well with cats in a previous home - Has the cutest underbite! Now, before we go any further into my story.... let me warn you...it contains heartache and then some puppies, and fear and even some hopelessness. We do go to the top of the mountain as well, so hold in for the wild ride of my life:) maybe you will get to be my happily ever after.... So I was born a poor border collie mixed pup, in the miserable heat, in a disgusting backyard. To a mama that could have been so beautiful, if she had been brushed and cared for.... Fast forward thru almost 4 YEARS of misery and puppies, we were saved!!! I was saved with 9 newborn puppies and my sister/daughter/ cousin, etccc Princess and HER 9 PUPPIES TOO! We landed safe and sound at the rescue! We are now gorgeous girls and all pups grown and adopted! Now its time for me!! I am a single gal, and really don't like other dogs in my business. I want to be the Queen of the house :D Adopt me and I will fill YOUR home with my love and devotion. Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Simba is a young mini Australian Shepherd. He is a great dog and listens well, he is very smart! Unfortunately we have toddlers that have not adapted well to having such an energetic pup around. I do think he would thrive as a family dog maybe with older kiddos.
