Story
Sam, also known as Oreo, is a 1-year-old Border Collie mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This handsome boy came to us as an owner release and is now looking for a patient, understanding family to give him the loving home he deserves.Sam/Oreo is a very sweet and affectionate dog who does well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion. He is both house trained and crate trained, and he already knows the commands “sit” and “kennel.” One thing you’ll notice quickly about him is that he’s a very slobbery boy—so be prepared for lots of drooly kisses! While Sam has many wonderful qualities, he does have a few things his future family should be aware of. He does not do well with cats, and because he does not like being picked up or hugged, a home with kids 12 and up would be the best fit for him. He can be a sensitive boy and does experience separation anxiety, so he would do best with a family that can help him build confidence and provide reassurance. When he becomes scared or stressed, he may have an accident in the home, so patience and a calm environment will help him succeed.Sam/Oreo is fully vetted and ready for his new beginning. He is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, neutered, and microchipped. He weighs about 39 pounds, making him a great medium-sized companion. With the right family—one that understands his sensitive side and gives him the time and love he needs—Sam/Oreo will make a loyal, goofy, and loving companion who will happily share his slobbery kisses and sweet personality every day. 🐾💙Sam's Adoption Fee is $35 plus taxDogs are $115 and puppies are $110 unless otherwise noted. All cats and kittens are $75.00 unless otherwise noted. Our system automatically updates adoptable websites every two hours. Feel free to email or call us with any questions you may have. Our contact number is 270-887-4175. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30-4 and is closed daily for lunch from 12:30-1. Adoptions are done on a first come first serve basis for owner releases. Strays have a wait list.

Story
Ghost is a 7-month-old Border Collie mix with a striking look and a gentle soul. This handsome boy was owner released and is now searching for a patient, loving home where he can feel safe and learn what it truly means to be part of a family.Ghost does well with kids and other dogs, and he is crate trained, which gives him a great start as he adjusts to a new home. We are not sure yet if he is fully house trained, as he has had a few accidents while with us. With consistency and patience, he should be able to learn quickly.Right now, Ghost is a very scared and unsure young pup who is still trying to understand his new surroundings. Despite his nervousness, his sweet personality shines through. Once he begins to feel comfortable, you can see just how gentle and loving he really is. He simply needs someone willing to give him time, reassurance, and kindness so he can build confidence.Ghost is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, and currently weighs about 42 pounds. This sweet boy has so much potential and so much love to give. With the right family to guide him and show him patience, Ghost will grow into a loyal, devoted companion who will be forever grateful for his second chance. 🐾🤍Ghost's Adoption Fee is $115.50 plus taxDogs are $115 and puppies are $110 unless otherwise noted. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Online Adoption Application!   Meet Boots, a beautiful Border Collie mix who has had a rough start. She’s spent her life chained, but now thanks to a beautiful rescue mom is blossoming in a home environment. She’s said to be around 4 years old, though she seems younger in energy and spirit. Boots is proving what a wonderful girl she truly is. She loves to run, explore the yard, and especially play with her new friend Cora. Cora can be a bit rough, but Boots handles it like a champ. Even her new blind senior friend, Socks, has decided she’s worth playing with! She is a shy girl at first, but she warms up very quickly. • Leash: She may pull a little, but when I remind her that I’m an “old woman,” she slows right down. • Car rides: Hops in fairly easily and rides well. • Vet care: Fully vetted, microchipped, and her 4DX test was all negative. Boots has been in foster for almost two weeks and has been no trouble at all. Her quirks are harmless and honestly kind of sweet: • Her foster mom leaves the back door open and Boots just loves to dart in and out, child like. When she comes inside, she likes to tuck herself under a table or other safe spot. That’s her comfort place, and she’s happy to have Cora join her for playtime there. • Boots has never tried to dig under or go over the fence. • Her reputation indicated she may not be trustworthy with cats, but she hasn’t been near them in foster to truly know. Boots truly deserves a home where she can get more one-on-one attention and continue learning what it means to be loved. She has shown zero aggression in her foster home—just a gentle, grateful personality that wants to feel safe. If you’d like more info about Boots or want to meet her, please reach out. She’s ready for her new beginning.
