You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lex is an approximately 2 year old mystery mixed breed who arrived from the city pound on 7/5/2025. This great boy has now been at MCHS for a year. We're still not sure which breeds are in his genetic makeup, but there could be some kind of shepherd and other herding breeds, like border collie. He has been fully vetted and microchipped and his fee is $150. Lex is a little bit shy at first but becomes a total lovebug within a few minutes. Even though he is an adult, he is playful and has the energy of a young puppy. He will need some basic training but seems very ready and willing to please. Lex will need a lot of exercise to keep him happy and well balanced. We're thinking he would do best as the only dog in the home, at least until he gets some good training under his belt. Smaller animals are most likely a no for him. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. At just 18 months old and around 40# (plus a whole lot of fluff!), Marco is an adorable Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix (our best guess). He is a loyal, slightly clumsy and utterly lovable Velcro dog, happiest wherever his people are. With lovely medium energy, Marco is always up for playing and doing things with his family. He is equally happy relaxing in the yard, soaking up the sunshine while watching his favorite show, Bunny TV. Cuddling with his humans is another favorite pastime. He discovered the joy of toys, and his goofy play style is downright adorable. Marco can be shy when meeting new people. He prefers to take his time, observe, think things over, and then decide when he's ready to approach. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality shines. Patience, kindness, and allowing him to move at his own pace are key to building his confidence and winning his trust. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Argo arrived in November 2022 from our friends at the Rescue Network after he was rescued from a Reservation in South Dakota. He is about 4 to 5 years old and does have a lot of the trademark features of mixed breed dogs from Reservations - "Rezzies", as they are affectionately known in rescue. Like many Rezzies, he could be a mix of cattle dog and German and/or Australian shepherd, just to name a few possible options. He's a handsome and very active dog. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $125. Argo has had some basic training and will require a lot of consistent exercise. This is of the utmost importance in order to keep him well balanced and happy. He is ready for action all the time but gets serious when leashed. He does pretty well on leash walks and loves car rides. He's an affectionate guy, too, who thinks nothing of climbing into a person's lap if he gets the chance. Argo would do best in a home with a large fenced yard. He's NOT a dog for apartment living. He's looking for an ADULT only, single person home as he tends to bond very closely to his person and becomes quite protective. No cats for him. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Olive came to MCHS on July 12 with her four littermates after they were being fostered by another rescue and needed a new place to go. These pups were born on April 27th and their mother appeared to be a pit bull type dog, around 60 pounds. We don't know who fathered them. Olive is happy and healthy and has the classic puppy energy. She has been vet checked, microchipped, and received all of her age appropriate vaccinations, including her rabies shot, but is not quite old enough to be spayed. The surgery will be coordinated with her adopter once she is older. The spay is required by us and, along with the rest of her vetting, is covered under her $150 adoption fee. Because she is a puppy, Olive will need training in all areas. She's looking for a home in which she won't be left alone for long hours. She should do well with kids and male dogs and is young enough to learn to interact properly with cats. We are guessing she will be a medium-sized to large dog at maturity. She's a typical puppy, full of mischief and very playful! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
