Meet Callie – The Smart Girl with a Gentle Heart
Callie is the kind of dog who forms deep connections with the people she loves. Beneath her thoughtful, sometimes cautious exterior is a sweet, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be close to her family. She may not be the dog who rushes up to greet every stranger, but once she trusts you, her loving personality shines brightly.
This beautiful Border Collie mix combines intelligence, playfulness, and loyalty into one wonderful package. Whether she's hiking a trail, working on a puzzle toy, playing with her favorite dog friends, or cuddling on the couch after a busy day, Callie is happiest when she has both mental and physical outlets along with people she can trust.

A Loving Dog Who Needs Understanding:
Callie is a smart and sensitive dog who thrives with patience and consistency. She can be shy when meeting new people and often prefers slow introductions. While she is not aggressive, she can become overwhelmed in busy environments and tends to do best in quieter settings where she has space to process new experiences.
Her foster reports that she is selective about who she chooses to interact with and often ignores strangers altogether. Once she feels comfortable, however, she becomes affectionate, playful, and eager to engage.
Callie also has some leash reactivity toward people and dogs. Her triggers can be inconsistent, but she has shown that she tends to warm up more quickly when introductions happen outside of the home. With continued training, management, and patience, she continues to make progress.
