Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Saga has an estimated birthdate of October 2022 and currently weighs about 45 pounds. She is a tall and leggy dog with the appearance of a herding dog with a mix of some other mystery breeds. Saga is an absolute gem! If you love a dog with a zest for life and a knack for learning, she is your girl. No, she is not a couch potato and she isn't a dog you tire out with a short walk a day, but with someone who enjoys teaching, playing with, and taking dogs on their life adventures, Saga might just be your girl. Saga absolutely loves toys and all things fun! She has learned how to catch frisbees and if you want a dog to play fetch with or maybe try your hand at disc dog, she would be a great choice. She has also started to learn the game of canine scent work and is showing she could excel at that as well. She has also ventured to the creek by her house and seems like she would probably enjoy water. As smart and biddable as Saga is, she is equally as silly. She lives every day to the absolute fullest and will definitely make you laugh. Saga loves to bury herself under things and can often be found under our chairs and couch. It is also not unusual to find her tongue hanging just so slightly out the side of her mouth. Have toys? She will empty that toy bin and make sure to leave every last one in your lap. Life is short so have fun, she says. Saga lives with other dogs, cats and kids (age 3 and 6) and does well. She can be a bit unsure of new people at first and may shy away if they immediately go to pet her, but she warms up quickly and has never been anything but sweet. Saga is house and crate trained and has done well for vet visits and nail trims - though she might win most wiggly dog award. Saga lives in the city and is learning how to fine tune her walking skills. Boy is she ever excited about those squirrels! Saga has gone to busy events, walked Lake Nokomis, and even tried out some patios and done pretty well. Saga is a great dog with a very sweet temperament looking for her forever home. Saga does tend to demand bark at times and while she absolutely loves playing with other dogs, does have some herding play tendencies. She would excel in a home that allows her access to doggy friends, but would not be the best choice for a dog park due to these herding and barking traits. Saga would do best in a fenced yard as she prefers to go potty off leash. She also would not do well in a shared wall setting. NOTE: Saga was found to have some urinary incontinence issues that has since been resolved with an inexpensive medication called Proin given 2x per day.
