Story
Rook is a sweet, affectionate, and playful boy with strong herding roots and an even stronger desire to be close to his people. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing, whether that’s playing outside, going for an adventure, or settling in for some quality cuddle time. True to his herding background, Rook is intelligent, eager to learn, and happiest when he has both mental and physical outlets. He enjoys playtime, thrives on structure, and loves forming a bond with his humans. He has a gentle, loving nature and is always ready to offer affection once he feels comfortable. Rook is potty trained, crate trained, knows basic obedience and is trustworthy alone. His name suits him perfectly — like a rook on the chessboard, he’s clever, observant, and quietly confident. Rook watches, learns, and moves with purpose, always staying close to his people and ready to step in wherever he’s needed. Rook is available for adoption and would make a wonderful addition to a variety of homes. He does well with older kids and is great with all animals, making him an easy fit for families, farms, or homes with existing pets. Rook is ready to find his forever people and start his next chapter as a loved and cherished companion.

Story
This handsome Border Collie mix is estimated to be around 2 years old and has already proven himself to be an incredibly sweet and friendly pup. From the moment he arrived, he’s been eager for attention and happy to make new friends. He does great with other dogs and seems to have a gentle, easygoing personality that makes him a joy to have around. He has a big prey drive, so cats, birds and other small animals are a no-go for this guy. He came to us from a shelter in Oklahoma, where he unfortunately landed on the euthanasia list after testing positive for heart worms. Thankfully, his X-rays showed a perfectly healthy, normal-looking heart and lungs! Sham is working on all the important foundations for success. He is progressing well with his potty training, crate training, leash manners, and basic obedience. He is not perfect with all of these yet, but continued work from his adopters will ensure success. His adopters will need to continue monthly heartworm preventatives to ensure continued heath and care.

Story
JB is a sensitive, intelligent dog who is slowly learning to trust the world again. He recently made the long trip back from Iowa and handled it without any issues. Since arriving, he has begun settling into a predictable routine and has made strong bonds with the resident dogs—especially the Malinois and a female German Shepherd he absolutely adores. JB is skittish by nature and will need a patient adopter who can give him the space and time he needs. He is wary of new people and uncomfortable with handling. While he wags his tail and shows clear affection toward his trusted person, he does not enjoy being touched and often stiffens when petted. He will lick your hand when you’re not looking, but he’s not yet comfortable taking treats from hands. With the right person, he may continue to grow, but he will need an adopter who respects his boundaries. JB is not recommended for homes with men, as he is generally fearful of them. A female-only home is ideal. He should also not live with cats or young children. Teenagers may be okay as long as they understand his space and needs. On the bright side, JB does beautifully with other dogs and may benefit from living with a confident canine companion. He enjoys herding-type activities, loves to run, and frequently plays with the dogs in his foster home. Outdoors, he no longer chases the horses and respects their space. He does fairly well on walks and tends to circle his person, keeping close. While he hasn’t been off-leash, he has a solid recall and doesn’t try to run off when outside. JB is housebroken, kennel trained, and goes into both his indoor and outdoor kennels easily. He knows a few basic commands like “come,” “sit,” and “kennel.” A patient training approach—or even a class—could help him build confidence, but he will need a trainer familiar with fearful dogs. JB’s ideal home is quiet, structured, and led by a patient woman who understands nervous, shut-down, or fearful dogs. A fenced yard, another friendly dog, and a calm environment would help him continue to progress. Inside the home he tends to pace, but once things are still, he settles. Sudden movements send him retreating to his kennel, though he returns once the environment is calm again. JB is a project dog—but a rewarding one for the right person. With time, consistency, and compassion, he will continue to blossom at his own pace. He’s looking for someone who sees beyond his fears and is ready to offer him the gentle, steady love he’s learning to trust. Story
Ofin is 4 years old. We got him when he was about 4 months old when someone left him with a friend of ours. We decided to take him in and we have loved him dearly ever since. We are rehoming him because we do not have the time or energy to give him what he needs. He is a great dog who loves to play, but also can cuddle once he's gotten that energy out. He seems to be bored with us because my husband works 12 hour shifts and I am in law school, so neither of us really have the time or energy when we are off to play as much as we should. I am about to be taking the bar and have realized he needs more than we can give. We do not have kids so we do not know what he is like around them. A few of our friends have babies and he has been good. Considering his personality in general, I’m sure he would do great, but just wanted to be 100% honest in the listing! Please message me if you are interested.
