Looking for a very energetic young girl? Do you have time to train me some dog manners? If so, I am the dog for you! I am an energetic girl, who loves to play, run, jump, and all the things a pup likes to do. Sadly, when I arrived at the shelter as a stray, the staff knew I was an adorable pup, but I never had any training. So I will need someone to help me learn the proper manners of a dog. The staff has resources available that they can share with you.Now to brag. I may have a lot to learn, but the staff has let me be the dog of the week! This means I got to spend time up in a suite by the front lobby, and when visitors stop in, they can come and great me and give me treats! Yummmmmmy! Not all dogs get this opportunity to be in the suite during the day. This dog is a courtesy listing for one of our rescue partners Allen county animal rescue facility. They are a rural animal control shelter near Iola KS. Many dogs are brought to their facility after being found as strays, dumped, surrendered, or brought in by the city. However, because they are in such a rural town, they have a very small pool of adopters and have a hard time finding homes for the dogs in the shelter. Our promise as their rescue partner is that should someone apply through us, we will handle any transportation needed to get the dog to their forever home, we will assist with home visits, dog intros and anything needed to help get these dogs out of the shelter and into loving homes. Tugboat is an absolute sweetheart! While he's a little over 9 months old, he still gets bursts of puppy energy and LOVES to play. Once he's burned off most of his energy, he turns into a total lovebug and just wants to snuggle and be as close to you as possible. Tugboat does great with other dogs, and we think he would do fine with cats as well (as long as he is given a slow, proper intro). He's been around a few kiddos and did great with them. He can be VERY excited when he first meets new people but quickly calms down. He's a very smart boy and a quick learner. He'll make a fantastic addition to his new family!
