Story
Bentley is a five year old mix I adopted to be my support dog. He is extremely intuitive and LOVES to have his teeth brushed. He is good with all animals, but due to some trauma involving dogs he sees often, he is now dog selective and would do best as a single dog. He's super snuggly and loves to sleep in beds with people, and likes to go on long sniff walks or play with a tug toy. Bentley needs an experienced owner because he does have issues with: being dog selective, a picky eater (maybe try free feeding?), resource guarding, and barrier aggression. Bentley does NOT have a bite history and other than this sudden change in his feelings about dogs, remains an excellent companion who loves kids and having his snacks broken up into tiny pieces. He needs someone who can make him secure and give him the time and comfort he needs.

Story
Say hello to sweet Maize, a Border Collie Mix born approximately 09/2022. Maize meaning corn in spanish was found near a corn field hense her name. This sweet girl was frieghtened and untrusting, but with some food and patiences she found a way to trust again. As she has been settling into her foster home we believe she will do good with other animals (dogs and cats) but will require a good introduction. We also think she would love to have a human sibling to play with, but due to her fear of loud sounds we think its best if they are over the age of 10 years. She is a sweet and loving girl who just needs some help learning to be a part of a family again. She can be pretty vocal so a non apartment/duplex home would be best for her. She also would love to have a fenced-in yard to run and play in. The suggested adoption donation for Maize is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $300,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases)  during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1814753##
