Story
Fievel is a very sweet 2.5yr old toy Australian shepherd. He does have some anxiety and barks at people/pets he doesn't know, but will warm up quickly. I had to find a new job and my pay was cut in half and Im expecting a baby in October. It breaks my heart to let him go but I can't financially keep up as it is and it will only get harder from here. He doesn't have experience around kids but he's such a happy sweet little guy I feel like he'd be a great kids pet once he gets introduced.

Story
Dexter is almost six and is a pretty good dog. He is very high energy and clumsy and that is why we have to rehome him. He plays rough and looks mean when he plays but doesnt actually hurt me or other dogs/cats. He knows basic commands and loves to cuddle. He loves to look out of windows but does like to bark at people walking by. He comes with leashes, toys, and however much food he has left in his bag

Story
Every once in a while, you meet an extra special dog that is full of gentle love, affection and resilience that will melt your heart! Meet Indigo Blue known also as Indy, our visually impaired one-year old 45-pound stunning girl. Your first instinct will be to wrap this sweet soul up in the comfort of your arms and keep her safe but soon you'll see she is so full of joy and doesn't act handicapped at all! Yes, her life was previously full of pain in a horrid kill shelter but since she is safe and no longer in pain she's just thrilled to be a normal happy girl! Plus remember Indy has never had much sight since birth so she knows no different. Indy as a stray in where she was to be euthanized the next day as her left eye was destroyed from glaucoma and she was in severe pain. Simple drops would have taken care of this, but she was not to be given a chance until Haven Animal Rescue Nebraska quickly called and arranged to have her transferred to Omaha immediately. Unfortunately, we could not save her left eye, and had it surgically removed so she would be pain free. Her beautiful blue right eye we tried so hard to save but after a month we also had to have it removed.  NO FURTHER MEDICAL IS NEEDED!  We were so sad but Indy did fantastic and fully mapped out her foster home within two days, roamed all levels including stairs and the outside yard without bumping into a thing!  To say this girl is amazing is an understatement! Indy's life now....she is extremely happy and gets along with all dogs from 35 to 155 pounds in her foster home but no cats please. She plays respectfully with dogs and takes their cues.  She has learned several commands and wants to please.  She loves to be with her people and is very devoted whether outside playing or laying beside you. Indy also walks well on leash once she trusts you and will follow a clicking sounds of your tongue in new places.  Nothing stops this lovebug from living life to the fullest and she is a pure delight. The perfect home for Indigo is a home with a fence, another dog (which is required as she needs a seeing eye friend) and lots of love and patience to give her!  She also adores children. No apartments please as she will alert you to sounds she can hear but not see. She is potty trained and crate trained. Although if you are home Indy wants to be out and with you! Please apply to meet Indigo Blue (Indy) and see if she is what has been missing from your life!  https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application ADOPTION DONATION: $350 *All dogs must be adopted as inside companion animals and are altered, up to date with vaccinations, HW tested, microchipped and take preventatives monthly.   PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. Story
Hank (b. 2/2021) is an affectionate Australian Shepherd mix.  He's a really good boy, he just gets a little nervous sometimes.  He loves snuggling and giving hugs or getting pets. He will even stand on his hind legs to get hugs!  He does great with his toys and will let you take them with no problems.  He is a VERY active dog, and loves to play tug-o-war and fetch (even though he doesn’t always want to drop the ball). He would do anything for a treat or an ice cube… he loves to catch and eat ice cubes as fast as he can. Hank is looking for an adult only home and even better if you work from home or are home often.  He needs someone that would be willing to work with him and give him a little training.  A fenced-in yard would be preferred since he has a ton of energy.  Hank is a little sensitve about having his paws touched and it just depends on his mood whether or not he will let you.  If you are calm and patient, then you just might be the perfect match for Hank.  Apply today!! The suggested adoption donation for Hank is $325. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Adoptions for Hank are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that s/he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page. ##1405067##

Story
Buddy (b 10/2015) is a handsome Australian Shepherd looking for his furever home. While this loverboy loves the Aussie ladies, he can be dog selective so he'll need more than one good introduction to any other dogs in the home.  Buddy's the kinda guy that never wanted kids of his own (which is why he decided to get neutered) and doesn't really want to live with any young children... or cats.  And while we're at it, he doesn't really want to live with any other small critters, either.  Buddy's perfect home would include a fenced in back yard where he can play frisbee, sunbathe, sniff all the sniffs, and daydream.  Buddy is a chatty kind of guy (not well suited for apartment living) who likes to go on long walks with his people.  He's a great traveling companion, loves car rides and the great outdoors.  Most of all, Buddy really loves his people and would prefer someone who can be home with him for most of the day or take him with them when they leave.  He is not a fan of loud noises (storms, beeping noises, vacuum, fireworks or washing machines), they can make him a bit anxious.  Buddy has a severe allergy to chicken so he enjoys a pescatarian diet.  He takes a chew supplement everyday for hip dysplasia, but don't let him fool you - Buddy has a lot of play left in him!  If Buddy sounds like your kinda guy, apply for him today! The suggested adoption donation for Buddy is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. Story
Millie is an Australian Shepherd mix, born December 2022.  Millie loves to learn new tricks and she is easily trained with a little time and effort.  She knows a few commands i.e. sit, lay down, shake and she's also crate trained.  Millie enjoys being active and loves to play fetch.  She needs a fenced yard (if possible) with room to explore.  Millie is friendly with other dogs and kids of all ages.  She's a little shy around new people, but would be okay with anyone once she has time to warm up and get her barks out of her system.  Millie loves to give kisses and is waiting for someone to give her lots of love and attention.  Apply today so it can be you!!
