Story
ADOPT PINTO! Pinto is a sweet, large, 2 yr old mix breed, with long legs and about 40 lbs. He is a volunteer favorite. Pinto is a high energy, silly boy - he loves doing zoomies in the yard and chasing balls. He has had a rough start to life in Puerto Rico and because of that his understanding of the world is small. He will require an experienced owner who can fast track his socialization and manners. He has already learned so much from volunteers! Pinto is a baby puppy at heart trapped in a 2 year old body, still puppy behavior. Pinto loves people, kisses and hugs. He enjoys his dog friends. And boooy does he know how to use those big brown eyes to melt hearts! He would love a jogging partner. He is a energetic and intelligent boy who needs a structured home to enjoy life as an adored pet that he has never known! For more information, please email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt/ The adoption fee is $350.00, tax not included, and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have otherdogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with youwhen you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.*****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want tomeet this pet, please go to www.townandcountryhumanesociety.org and click Adopt.  Then scroll down toOnline Application and select Dog Application.   Your application will be reviewed and you will be contactedto set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will besupervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Ifyou have a dog or dogs currently, a meet and greet with the dog is also required but can be done at the sametime. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and ourmission. ##1666777##

Toys, playing, people and being outside are super duper fun but once I'm tired so is snuggling and giving kisses. Oh and I love other dogs and have grown up with kids. So the more the merry to give me attention! I'm working hard on potty training and crate training.  Date of birth 03/29/2023  To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $375 donation is requested at the time of adoption. Story
Jasper (b. Jan 2020) is a foxy fella who found himself euth listed in an overcrowded shelter in Texas. With the help of a partnering organization, Muddy Paws was able to bring Jasper and 12 other young dogs 900 miles to rescue. FOSTER UPDATE: Jasper is a young boy who needs lots of playtime and exercise to keep his young brain engaged and happy! Recently, Jasper began receiving some advice from a MP positive enforcement trainer who is helping him learn some coping skills for dealing with situations that make him uncomfortable. He requires a fence. For now, we know that Jasper is pretty excited about being the one and only child in your life, so it is preferred that interested adopters have no other dogs, small animals, or human children in the home. This handsome boy currently lives in an adult-only household and is happy as can be; Jasper is housebroken, rests comfortably in a kennel (or your bed!), and can't wait for a summer full of adventure with the people he loves! We'll continue to post updates on Jasper's progress and furever needs as we learn more. The suggested adoption donation for Jasper is $415. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##960611##

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi, my name is Oreo! I am a Cattle Dog B. March 2021 and I’m looking for my forever home! First off, I love toys and I do not discriminate, but balls and rope toys are my favorite and I’m happy to share them with my humans and my doggie friends. I have yet to meet a dog I didn’t like so I hope my forever home has a fur brother or sister for me! Because I’m still young, a home with kids might not be best because I’m still working on getting out my puppy energy! Because of my breed, it’s important I have appropriate outlets and stimulation! I need a job! This can look like training, enrichment, or even some nose work. All our amazing trainers can help provide great ideas for my success! I love car rides, brain work activities, and belly rubs. I’m also a really good snuggler and give the best toothy kisses! I know my basic commands, I am kennel trained and fully potty trained! I am not a vocal dog and am easy to please! I do need a low traffic home as I am working on some of my stranger danger triggers. Sometimes strange men can make me nervous. While I’m in my foster home, my foster mom will be helping me to identify some of these and feel more safe and confident in this crazy world! Because of this, it’s best I avoid busy places; such as dog events, dog parks, pet stores, or busy outdoor trails.  The suggested adoption donation for Oreo is $400. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Adoptions for Oreo are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases)  during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1562675##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation. If you are new to German Shepherds (and other herding breeds), please research the breed to make sure this is the dog for you. We ask that you consider the time and financial commitment that your German Shepherd (or other herding breed) dog will require before applying for one. Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information. Pert is an adorable and affectionate girl and loves playing with other dogs. Pert is very gentle, and rather shy, so it may take a bit longer to warm up to you. One of her favorite activities is running outside with the other dogs where she can also entertain herself for hours watching the squirrel and birds. Pert and her litter mate were born outside to a Cattle Dog mom; she and her brother Reese were trapped and brought into rescue. Her first weeks in rescue she was understandably shy around people.  However, as she has grown, she really enjoys sleeping on her foster mom's lap and having a good cuddle.      Pert is potty trained and crate trained.  She keeps all of her toys and beds inside an exercise pen.  Princess Pert warms up best to people who are calm, patient, and relatively quiet - at first.  She loves to play and follow her person everywhere! Pert will dress up in a bandana and an outfit because she is a pretty, pretty Princess.  She will do best in a home with another dog as she learns quickly what other dogs do.   Pert's adoption fee is $375, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs.  We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.June 2, 2023, 4:11 pm

Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information. If you’ve been searching for a sweet, loyal, well-socialized, and playful pup then look no further! Miss Maggie is looking for a fur-ever home where she can snuggle with her humans, play with all the toys, and get lots of belly rubs. While staying with her foster family, Maggie has become well acclimated to playing with other dogs, staying home while the humans work, and navigating a relationship with older children. Maggie is shy in new environments and with new people. Slow introductions to strangers, kids, new places, and new pets would set Maggie up for a successful integration to her new home. Some of Maggie’s favorite things are toys and treats. Miss Maggie is content to stay at home and chill with her humans! She spends most of her days playing with her foster siblings and pretending to be her human’s shadow. She’ll do anything for treats—just ask her to sit or lay down and she’ll earn one quickly! Some of Maggie’s least favorite things are kennels and car rides. Because kennels make her anxious and have made her a great escape artist, Maggie’s foster family let her roam the house free while they worked during the day. Aside from the occasional puppy potty accident, Maggie did great while home alone outside the kennel. While transitioning to a new home, Maggie might feel a little anxious and have a few potty accidents at first. With time and patience, she will no doubt learn to communicate her potty needs to her new humans. When first arriving to her foster home, Maggie was too nervous to even be outside by herself. With time, patience, and bonding, Maggie is now confident enough to bolt out the door for play and potty time all by herself! It will likely take some time to get her back to that confidence in a new home, but she will thrive with the right humans to love her. Because of this, Maggie would do best with someone who can spend a lot of time with her during the day. Walking Maggie will be a breeze. As long as her humans are with her, she’s happy as can be! She doesn’t pull on leashes, and is not dog reactive while out and about. There are no cats in Maggie's current foster home, however, the original finder told us Maggie was good with her cats. Maggie originally tested heartworm positive when she arrived. She has been treated, and is in the final phase of recovery. She currently takes one or two doses of Trazodone per day. This is to help tame her playfulness and let her body rest. After her recovery, she may not need it at all until it’s time for a car ride or new experience. Maggie's foster mom tells us she's a really good girl who 'doesn’t have any terrible habits that need fixed. She might occasionally growl at her foster siblings if they try to take her toy, but she learns quickly with consistent redirection. Her and her two foster siblings share a water dish and eat in close proximity, and she’s never complained. Because Maggie is still young, she may occasionally play a little rough or “mouth” while playing (little Cattle Dogs do, sometimes), but she’s never bit or nipped anyone and the mouthing can be easily redirected. Maggie truly is the sweetest, most loyal companion!'. Maggie needs a family who will be patient and consistent with her, with a dog buddy to help teach her the ropes. She loves her humans with all her heart and deserves the same in return. Let’s get Miss Maggie into her fur-ever home! Maggie's adoption fee is $350, all of which goes back into offseting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. Like all Australian Cattle Dogs, GSDs, and other herding breeds that we have in rescue, Maggie will need training, consistency, boundaries, activity and socialization, in order to be a well-balanced, well-behaved dog. This sweet girl would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that she needs. Because of that, Maggie's ideal owner will have prior Australian Cattle Dog, GSD, or other similar breed experience, and a friendly resident dog to help show her the ropes. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills and manners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.June 2, 2023, 4:11 pm
