Story
Hey all, this is Archer. He is a 3 year old purebread Border Collie, great with our kids and other dog. We also have a Cat, and while Archer has never been aggressive of any kind, he has a strong herding instinct and will follow the cat around the house. We're looking to find him a new home for a few reasons, primarily we want our cat to be able to relax in the house more and not be followed so much, but we also want Archer to have a more active lifestyle. Ideally we could find him a home that has some wide outdoor space so he could run and play, and if he was given a job to do he would love it. We want to find Archer a great home with a more active lifestyle for him, so if you have any questions please let us know.

Story
Lucy is a 3-year-old Border Collie mix with a sensitive personality, incredible intelligence, and a very affectionate side. She loves snuggling in bed, playing games like hide-and-seek, and being involved in whatever her humans are doing. She loves walks, playing, and chasing balls. She is highly intelligent and energetic, so she thrives with mental stimulation, exercise, and structure. Lucy would do best with an experienced dog owner familiar with herding breeds and their sensitivities.Because of her herding instincts and sensitivity, Lucy is not a fit for homes with toddlers or infants. She does best in a calm environment with older children (if any) who can respect her space. She can also be protective around food and prefers not to be disturbed by children while resting.Lucy has never bitten or lunged at a child. We simply recognize that our growing family and busy toddler environment are no longer the right fit for her needs, and we want to find a home where she can truly thrive.

Story
Winston - Deaf Dogs Hear with Their Hearts Hello world I'm Winston....please don't mind me as I practice my sign language! You see, I'm hearing impaired, but I am super smart so I use hand signs to communicate! I have been waiting a while for my perfect home, but I will be a great companion once I find the right match. I will need SEVERAL MEETS before adoption, as I am people selective and it takes me a bit to get to know and trust someone. I'm a two year old who is a happy, handsome fella with gorgeous baby blues and would love to be someone's one and only. Once I trust them, I'd love for them to take me on walks/runs, play fetch, toss me toys, snuggle with me and teach me new commands! I do have a few requirements, though: I NEED A FENCED IN YARD, AN EXPERIENCED OWNER AND MUST BE AN ONLY DOG. So, if you have enough time, patience, dogs skills and can go slow with me, I will learn to trust you and be your loyal forever boy. No apartments please! Also, small children make me really nervous as I can't hear them so teenagers and adults only. I also prefer a house that won't be active with too many strangers coming and going but am crate trained, if needed. I currently living with a trainer and she loves me so much that she will provide continued training help for my whole life! I haven't had many good experiences in my life yet, so I'd love to be your loyal best new friend, if you have time to devote to me! Want to meet me and see how amazing we can be together? Please apply at www.nalarescue.org to adopt or for more information. All shots, boosters, rabies, spay/neuter, and microchip is included in NALA Rescue's Adoption donation fee. All meets are scheduled by appointment only once an application is approved. Please apply at www.nalarescue.org and if approved we will reach out to the applicant and answer all questions. All dogs/puppies are available until they are removed from this site so please no inquires if a dog is available.

Meet Pepper: Your New Furry Best Friend! Pepper is a beautiful, active girl (born 2020) who loves to fetch and explore. She’s housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, and knows several basic commands. Under the right conditions, she’s playful, loyal, and ready to shower her person with affection. Personality & Traits Shy around new people, but warms up quickly Protective of her space and her human family Fetches enthusiastically and loves chew bones Barky at first greeting and can be vocal with excitement Nervous during thunderstorms or fireworks—finds comfort in a thunder coat and cozy hiding spot Training & Needs Housebroken and litter trained Crate trained for safe, calm downtime Needs a securely fenced yard to burn off energy safely Responds well to consistent training, positive reinforcement, and gentle leadership The Perfect Home for Pepper A household where she is the only dog A fenced yard for daily play and exercise Plenty of toys and chew bones to keep her mind and body busy A patient owner—ideally female—who can continue her training and provide a calm routine Someone prepared to help her manage noise sensitivities with a thunder coat, blankets, and safe spaces Ready to Welcome Pepper? If you’re seeking a devoted, smart companion who will love you fiercely, Pepper could be the one. Please reach out to schedule a meet-and-greet and learn more about her story. We’ll share everything we’ve learned and support you through the transition. Adoptions for Pepper are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that she can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers. The suggested adoption donation for Pepper is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based  training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster.  This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their  pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is  unavailable for adoption.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster  to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The  adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive  family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal  reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We  always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are  not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file  for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at  MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue  Inc.  ##2514098##

Thor is a very sweet dog, but he is high-energy and still needs consistent behavioral training. He is crate trained, but he does chew and can be very hyper. He would do best with an experienced owner or an active home that has the time and patience to work with him and give him plenty of exercise.

Story
It breaks our hearts to say this, but we’re searching for a new home for our sweet boy, Panda. Panda is an incredibly loving, energetic dog with a huge heart. He’s smart, eager to please, and quickly learns new things—he already knows commands like “lay down” and “shake.” He truly thrives on connection and attention from his people. He absolutely lights up during playtime, especially with his favorite skunk toy or any ball. Watching him run and play brings so much joy—he has a special way of brightening a home. This has been a very difficult decision, made out of love and a desire to do what’s best for him. We are also expecting, and won't have the proper time to train a young pup and raise a baby. Panda would do best as the only male dog in a home where he can receive all the time, attention, and affection he deserves. We’re hoping to find a person or family who will love him as much as we do. Please reach out if you think you could be the right home for Panda ❤️

Story
Nash is a 3 year old Border Collie Aussie mix. He is an energetic young neutered male. He loves to snuggle, go on walks, and play fetch. He does not like thunderstorms and gets very anxious. We do have him on prozac to help ease his anxiety. We are unable to keep Nash due to him not getting along with our 8 year old Mini Aussie. We took him in from a friend who found Nash born under a barn just when he was opening his eyes. He is a sweet boy and we are heartbroken we have to make this decision. We are looking to rehome him to someone who can give him what he needs.

Story
Meet Rico, he is 8 years old and 35lbs.   His owner has cancer and can longer care for him so he is looking for a new place to love him through the next chapter of his life.  Rico is a handsome Aussie/Terrier mix of sorts! If he was a food order he would be ordered as one medium floof nugget, with a side of smiles- tail waggin sized, with all the dippin sauces of happiness. This guy has grins that just won‘t quit, loves him some car rides, enjoys being bribed with treats for tricks, isn’t much of a kisser, and relishes all the attention he deserves to receive.  Rico loves kids and loves to play tug with them or another dog.   Rico is easy to love, gets along great with dogs and and kids. He walks good on leash and is housebroken and crate trained. He is a true gentleman and is ready for that special person(s) to give him his well-deserved furever home. He is waiting to meet you! Neutered, heartworm tested, recent dental, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption!  He is hit and miss with cats so a calm cat that does not do much he would have less of an issue with.  An active cat that will hiss and get in his business is not a match.  To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $100 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.March 8, 2026, 6:28 pm
