Story
Lively, playful, spunky, talkative, protective..needs alot of physical activity...likes tug of war and fetching, tends to like 90% of smaller dogs and 60% of larger dogs so far at dog parks. Is defensive when scared. Likes hugs and kisses and petting when he trusts you. Healthy. Would do best with an experienced dog owner who has an estate or large fenced in yard and wants to focus on training such as healing, catching a frisbee, hunting, or learning a doggy obstacle course. Can sit on command and is smart as dogs go. My mother is hospital bound in rehab now and I work overtime for financial reasons now so I cant give him the attention and exercise he needs.

Story
Cali is a 8.5 year old doberman/terrier mix that we assume has some border collie as she looks just like one! We adopted her when she was 9 weeks old, and she is absolutely amazing, but she cannot be in a home with kids any longer, and we have 3. She needs a home where she feels like a part of the family, which is how we have always treated her. She gets anxious with certain things, so she needs patience and someone who is willing to help her be confident. She loves to play, go on walks, but also loves to crash out on the couch or in her beds.

Story
Winston - Deaf Dogs Hear with Their Hearts Hello world I'm Winston....please don't mind me as I practice my sign language! You see, I'm hearing impaired, but I am super smart so I use hand signs to communicate! I have been waiting a while for my perfect home, but I will be a great companion once I find the right match. I will need SEVERAL MEETS before adoption, as I am people selective and it takes me a bit to get to know and trust someone. I'm a two year old who is a happy, handsome fella with gorgeous baby blues and would love to be someone's one and only. Once I trust them, I'd love for them to take me on walks/runs, play fetch, toss me toys, snuggle with me and teach me new commands! I do have a few requirements, though: I NEED A FENCED IN YARD, AN EXPERIENCED OWNER AND MUST BE AN ONLY DOG. So, if you have enough time, patience, dogs skills and can go slow with me, I will learn to trust you and be your loyal forever boy. No apartments please! Also, small children make me really nervous as I can't hear them so teenagers and adults only. I also prefer a house that won't be active with too many strangers coming and going but am crate trained, if needed. I currently living with a trainer and she loves me so much that she will provide continued training help for my whole life! I haven't had many good experiences in my life yet, so I'd love to be your loyal best new friend, if you have time to devote to me! Want to meet me and see how amazing we can be together? Please apply at www.nalarescue.org to adopt or for more information. All shots, boosters, rabies, spay/neuter, and microchip is included in NALA Rescue's Adoption donation fee. All meets are scheduled by appointment only once an application is approved. Please apply at www.nalarescue.org and if approved we will reach out to the applicant and answer all questions. All dogs/puppies are available until they are removed from this site so please no inquires if a dog is available.

Story
Cassie is a sweet Collie/Border Collie mix, born in 2024.  She has a smooth coat and is on the smaller side for this breed mix.  Cassie is kid (all ages) and dog friendly!  She was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas and we need your help finding her forever home.  She has an extremely SWEET temperament!  She had a litter of 7 puppies mid June.   The suggested adoption donation for Cassie is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital or Omaha Animal Medical Group in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. ##2780478##

Story
My Australian shepherd Beaux is 7 years old now, he was trained to be my service animal but it is time for him to go into retirement. I have a lot of medical health issues and beaux was with me for several years. My health took a dramatic turn and I am starting to go in an upward trend and therefore my need for Beaux has become less and less. He has been my best friend and greatest companion. But unfortunately I have moved into a new apartment and am now seeking employment. Beaux would be best fit with a family preferably with kids and he is the only dog. But he absolutely loves other dogs and kids and cats. My buddy needs a forever home.

Story
Leo is a loyal dog. Leo is 2 years old and loves our house cat and children. He is kennel trained. He loves to fetch with his ball and hang out in whatever room we're in. The main reason why we need to re-home him is that we live in a busy neighborhood that has a lot of dog walkers, and he struggles with interacting with other dogs on a frequent basis. He would do much better in a quiet neighborhood or countryside that has less dog traffic. He does great in our fenced in yard. He is easy to walk and stays by your side on walks.

Story
Meet Rico, he is 8 years old and 35lbs.   His owner has cancer and can longer care for him so he is looking for a new place to love him through the next chapter of his life.  Rico is a handsome Aussie/Terrier mix of sorts! If he was a food order he would be ordered as one medium floof nugget, with a side of smiles- tail waggin sized, with all the dippin sauces of happiness. This guy has grins that just won‘t quit, loves him some car rides, enjoys being bribed with treats for tricks, isn’t much of a kisser, and relishes all the attention he deserves to receive.  Rico loves kids and loves to play tug with them or another dog.   Rico is easy to love, gets along great with dogs and and kids. He walks good on leash and is housebroken and crate trained. He is a true gentleman and is ready for that special person(s) to give him his well-deserved furever home. He is waiting to meet you! Neutered, heartworm tested, recent dental, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption!  He is hit and miss with cats so a calm cat that does not do much he would have less of an issue with.  An active cat that will hiss and get in his business is not a match.  To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $100 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.March 8, 2026, 6:28 pm
