Story
Cassie is a sweet Collie/Border Collie mix, born in 2024.  She has a smooth coat and is on the smaller side for this breed mix.  Cassie is kid (all ages) and dog friendly!  She was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas and we need your help finding her forever home.  She has an extremely SWEET temperament!  She had a litter of 7 puppies mid June.   The suggested adoption donation for Cassie is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital or Omaha Animal Medical Group in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. ##2780478##

Story
Kevin is a Lab/Border Collie mix, born in 2021.  The perfect home for Kevin would be with someone who can give him daily exercise and stiumlation.  He needs a fenced yard with room to explore and lounge.  Kevin is a very smart dog and enjoys being challenged with different activities.  He is okay with kids, he would be better off in a home with no young kids (age 6+ would be okay).  Other dogs might be okay, but the first introduction would need to be slow. Kevin is very well house trained.  He participated in a two-week obedience stay and learned a lot!  He knows how to sit, lay down, place and stay (depending on the situation).  Kevin tends to bark sometimes - specifically more protective if someone comes to the door or is outside the house.  He will also bark if he sees something in the back yard and wants to go out.  Kevin has been a little reactive to men, but should warm up if he gets to know someone. Kevin LOVES to be active - he would run and play all day long if given the opportunity.  He would love the chance to become part of your family.  He's such a friendly and sweet guy!   The suggested adoption donation for Kevin is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Lively, playful, spunky, talkative, protective..needs alot of physical activity...likes tug of war and fetching, tends to like 90% of smaller dogs and 60% of larger dogs so far at dog parks. Is defensive when scared. Likes hugs and kisses and petting when he trusts you. Healthy. Would do best with an experienced dog owner who has an estate or large fenced in yard and wants to focus on training such as healing, catching a frisbee, hunting, or learning a doggy obstacle course. Can sit on command and is smart as dogs go. My mother is hospital bound in rehab now and I work overtime for financial reasons now so I cant give him the attention and exercise he needs.

Story
FOSTERED IN SIOUX CITY Name - Grey Age - 10 weeks Breed - Blue Heeler mix What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I was found as a stray with my littermates. Thankfully, No Dog Cleft Behind gave me a fresh start, and now I’m ready to find my forever family! Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? My wonderful foster family! They’ve been showing me what love and safety feel like. Are you good with kids? What age ranges? I haven’t met many kids yet, but I’m just a puppy and eager to learn! I’d do best with children over 5 years old who know how to be gentle with pups. Are you good with other dogs? Be VERY specific here. Absolutely! My foster home is full of dogs, and I love every one of them. I enjoy playing, wrestling, and following my dog friends around. I’d be thrilled to have a canine sibling in my forever home! Are you good with cats? I’m not sure yet. I’ve never met one! Are you housebroken? I’m off to a great start! I know how to use a dog door, always potty when I go outside, and I keep my kennel nice and clean. Do you like car rides? Yes! I love hopping in the car and tagging along for adventures. Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? I haven’t had much leash experience yet, but I’m young, smart, and excited to learn! Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? Every toy is my favorite toy! If it squeaks, bounces, or can be chewed, count me in. Do you know any commands/tricks? Not yet, but I’m a smart little pup who’s ready to learn anything you’d like to teach me. How are your house manners? I’m learning the ropes! I’ve mastered the couch stairs, I’m working on not chewing things I shouldn’t, and I’m getting better every day. Describe your personality I’m a sweet, silly little guy who just wants to make people happy. I can be a bit shy when we first meet, especially if you reach down to pick me up. But if you sit on the floor, I’ll happily climb right into your lap for snuggles. Once I know you’re my friend, I’m all about love and cuddles. Describe your perfect home I’d love a home with another playful dog and maybe some kids over 5 to romp around with. Most of all, I’m looking for a patient family who will give me a little time to build my confidence. I promise I’m worth the wait!

Meti may be a little timid when meeting new people, but give him some time to feel comfortable and you’ll see his sweet, happy personality shine through! Meti definitely shows his herding-breed side when he gets excited, so he’ll need an adopter who understands that this is part of who he is and is willing to work with him through it. He has done well with other dogs, though he can be a little shy during those first introductions. With patience, understanding, and the right match, Meti has so much potential to be an amazing companion. If you’re willing to let Meti take things at his own pace, he just might be the special boy you’ve been looking for!

Story
Winstorn is an Australian Cattle dog, born October 2020. Winston is currently in a foster home, but he would LOVE to find his furever family! His foster family says he loves to cuddle and get belly rubs like all good boys do. He is house-trained and non-destructive when left home alone. Winston's PERSONALITY Very attentive and affectionate with his people LOVES to snuggle and loves attention Sometimes a little anxious, but eager to please [possibly from excess energy]  Playful  Food motivated True to his breed, he would do well if he has a job Protective of his family  In the past, he did well when he stayed with a friend who has a large property and three other dogs.  They just played and ran each other ragged.  He is more scared of other dogs now. Winston is dog reactive when walking on a leash.  He would definitely benefit being with someone who has experience with this. THE PERFECT HOME A farm or acreage where he has lots of space, less noise and a job. A quiet place to walk with his person or people. He is anxious to find a family that will give him all the attention, snuggles and love he deserves! Needs to be the only dog in the home.  He is good with kids and has lived with cats.   Winston deserves to be part of a family where he is loved and cherished,  If you think you have what it takes to be a good match for Winston, please consider adopting and ask about meeting him today!   The suggested adoption donation for Winston is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Adoptions for Winston are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers.
