Meet Remy – Your Loyal Ball of Love! Remy is a 4-year-old Collie mix with a heart as big as his fluffy coat (born 2021). This sweet boy may start off shy and cautious in new environments, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his true personality shines through—he’s a total lap dog, cuddle bug, and kisser who wants nothing more than to be close to his person. What Makes Remy Special Housebroken & Crate Trained – He’s got the basics down and thrives with routine. Leash Trained – Walks are a breeze, and he enjoys exploring at his own pace. Crazy Smart – Remy learns quickly and loves showing off the commands he knows. Fetch Fanatic – His absolute favorite game is fetch with his ball—this is the way to his heart! Protective & Loyal – He bonds deeply with his person and will always be by your side. Cuddly Companion – Once he trusts you, he transforms into the sweetest lap dog who loves kisses and snuggles. The Right Home for Remy Remy is looking for a calm, patient home where he can feel secure. He does best with women and would prefer a household without children, as their unpredictability makes him nervous. He’s not aggressive toward people, but he prefers to be the only pet since he can be protective of his food and toys around other dogs.  Remy might be okay with a male in the home if given time to warm up and build trust. Personality Notes Timid at first (specifically towards men) but blossoms into a loving, goofy sweetheart. May show submissive urination when nervous or excited—patience and reassurance help him feel safe. Active and playful, but also a devoted snuggler when it’s time to relax. Protective of his person, making him a loyal and trustworthy companion. Takes PRN medication before vet appointments and nail trims to help with stress. Remy isn’t just a dog—he’s a best friend waiting to happen. With patience, love, and plenty of fetch, he’ll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless cuddles, and a bond like no other. Story
Hey all, this is Archer. He is a 3 year old purebread Border Collie, great with our kids and other dog. We also have a Cat, and while Archer has never been aggressive of any kind, he has a strong herding instinct and will follow the cat around the house. We're looking to find him a new home for a few reasons, primarily we want our cat to be able to relax in the house more and not be followed so much, but we also want Archer to have a more active lifestyle. Ideally we could find him a home that has some wide outdoor space so he could run and play, and if he was given a job to do he would love it. We want to find Archer a great home with a more active lifestyle for him, so if you have any questions please let us know.

Lola is 6 years old. We have had her since she was a puppy. She loves playing fetch, she is very quiet and can be shy. Unfortunately, we have to rehome her as I cannot give her the attention she needs. She comes with her bestfriend Hugo, who is 8 years old and have been together since she was a puppy.

Story
Gail is a smart and eager to please beagle mix who is blossoming into a truly wonderful dog. Gail was severely under socialized during her first months of life and had no understanding of how to exist with people. While in rescue she has learned all about how to be a part of a home, and now her foster mom is helping her to learn how to exist stress free outside of the house so that she can enjoy going on adventures with her future forever family. She is potty trained (with the rare exception of excited peeing), kennel trained and walks well on a leash when hiking on local trails.  Her ideal forever family will be an adult only home that has at least one other dog that likes to play. She is open to kids in her family’s future but would like to get to know her parents first. She is looking for a home with a fully fenced yard. Gail is not great at first introductions so we would like to find an adopter who is open to meeting her a couple of times before diving into forever with Gail. We promise she is worth the time investment.  Gail is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.  Gail is a year old and 35lbs.   To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $200 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.December 14, 2024, 4:02 pm

Story
If you're looking to adopt a sensational senior, Lucy is your girl.  She is an Australian Cattle Dog mix, born Dec 2015.  She is a little timid at first, but will be your best pal once she get to know you.  She is seriously the ideal dog!   She needs a home with a fenced yard and she is usually good with other dogs (we would do a dog intro to make sure she got along with any in your house).  She might prefer to be the only dog in the house, it really depends on the dogs.  She does fine with dogs that don't get in her face.  She gets a little nervous and when they get right in her face.  She's met lots of other dogs she's been fine with.  Here are a few more fun facts: *Good with kids         *House trained *Low energy              *Quiet/doesn't bark much (inside or outside)              *Walks well on a leash *Curious about cats and gets along with them  *Trained to stay off furniture      *No counter surfing for food      *Leaves the trash alone and doesn't chew on anything that is out around the house *She is not kenneled during the day because she's very well behaved, but she is also fine in a kennel. *She only barks if someone rings the doorbell, knocks, or if a visitor leaves. If someone just walks in the house, she doesn't bark. She doesn't even bark at the neighbors or their dogs when she's outside.  *She has 2 medications she takes in the evening for incontinence.  As long as she has them, she doesn't have accidents. She's very good at letting her foster mom know when she needs to go outside.  The medication isn't too expensive.  *She needs to be on Purina ProPlan urinary food. She goes through about a bag and a half during a month.  This food helps reduce the chance of stones forming in her bladder/kidney. *Lucy likes to follow her foster mom around the house to see what she's doing, but if it's not exciting to her, she will go back to her bed and lay down.   If you're looking for a well-behaved senior girl that you don't have to train, Lucy might just be for you. The suggested adoption donation for Lucy is $275. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
This is Winstorn, an Australian Cattle dog, born Oct 2020.  Winston would love to be on a farm or acreage where he has room to run, play and explore.  Bonus points if you have a job for him as his breed really needs to have something to do.  He has spent time with friends on a large property and their 3 dogs.  He is a little anxious sometimes, but eager to please.  This likely comes from his excess energy and just needing something to do.  Winston is startled by kids screaming and small dogs barking.  He will benefit from some leash training because he is reactive to other dogs when on a leash. Winston is very attentive and affectionate with his people.  He is anxious to find a family that will give him all the attention, snuggles and love he deserves! The suggested adoption donation for Winston is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Fostered in Sioux City Name- Bruno Age- 1-2 years old Breed- mini Austrian Shepherd What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I came from a home with 40+ other dogs Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? My foster mom is my favorite person. Are you good with kids? Kids make me very nervous, so I tend to hide from them unless they are sitting by my foster mom then they arent so scary. But I am not mean towards children at all. What age ranges? The children in my home are 12, 9 and 7. Are you good with other dogs? Be VERY specific here. (Testing this tomorrow- he did find with friends chihuahua puppy tonight though) Are you good with cats? Unknown but probably ok as they lived with barn cats. Are you housebroken? What is your current potty routine? I am mostly house broke if you pay attention to my signals. I paw at the door when I need to go potty (after being shown where the outside is) Do you like car rides? I am ok with them. Learning Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? I am still learning that the leash isnt a scary thing. I will need patience and extra care when being placed on a leash. Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? Toys are still very scary for me. I dont really know what they are, the squeaky ones are extra scary. But I do love bones- those are so good! Do you know any commands/tricks? I am currently learning to sit. And my foster mom is trying to get me to shake. How are your house manners? I am still very shy and I like to hide behind the couch or in my kennel since that is my safe space. I do like to watch the little humans from a distance. I do not get up on the counters or tables. The little human was even able to eat food sitting on the floor and I didnt try to take it. I dont get in the garbage. I dont even jump on the couch. But I do like sitting on it with my foster mom if she picks me up and puts me on there. I am still kind of frightened by the TV if it is too loud. Describe your personality- I am very shy, but I want to be loved so badly. It takes me a little bit to warm up to people. I am a very good boy who is very eager to learn and be loved. Describe your perfect home- I think a quiet laid back home would be best for me. With a fenced in yard since I dont do well on a leash and I am scared of loud noises and fast moving things.
