Story
Lucy is an adorable Border Collie mix with a great smile! She loves going on long walks and even sits politely when you leash her to go outside. Lucy enjoys traveling and is a great running partner. She loves snuggles and belly rubs. Lucy does well with sleeping on her own, with free access to her crate. She is a good listener, and overall well-behaved other than her jealousy/aggression issues. She is an anxious dog and we have given her calming medications in the past. Lucy was originally owned by a relative that adopted her from a shelter. Our relative could no longer care for her because of how active Lucy is. Our relative had a chihuahua and three other cats that Lucy did well with. From what we have seen in the past, Lucy does well with kids. We have seen that she must warm up to younger men.

Story
Virginia is a 9-year-old border collie/Staffordshire terrier mix. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and spayed. We adopted her from the Wake County SPCA when she was a puppy, and have had her ever since. She has been a great dog, but she has struggled with horrible anxiety since we had our son and we have another one on the way. We have tried giving her anxiety medication and it isn’t helping her nervousness with our toddler walking and running around. She’s not aggressive towards our toddler, but I would like her to have a good home where she can play, run outside, and feel normal instead of consistently anxious and shaky. She deserves better. She is very sweet and loving, loves snuggles, and taking walks outside. She’s a great nap and sleep companion too. She’s a great dog.

Story
Aila is the white dog in the pictures and she is 10 year's old. We adopted her as a puppy for a man in Pinehurst who worked all day and couldn't care well for her. She is a great dog in a home where she is the only dog - she doesn't really like sharing space with our other dog and we believe that she would like and benefit from being the only dog in a home. I checked that she isn't good with kids because she will growl at kids if they try to hug her. I would rather not have her in a home with kids under 7 or so because she likes her personal space. We are moving to a smaller home with a smaller yard and we feel that it might be less ideal for having two dogs. Aila has been primarily living with our 91 year old parents, but they cannot keep her for the long term. Although she is 10, she is very healthy and spry. She doesn't require much exercise and is content to be inside for long stretches. We have her sleep in a kennel at night and she likes that.
