Lana came to us as a little stray, and we all have the same question: Who in the world could have let this sweetheart get away?! Lana LOVES people and is always so excited to see you. She’s affectionate, happy, and more than ready to soak up all the attention you’re willing to give her. Lana takes a while to warm up to other dogs. She was unsure of her foster brothers at first, especially the bigger one. With time, she’s come to accept her smaller foster brother. She still sometimes growls when the bigger one gets too close, but they’re all living in harmony now. While she takes time to warm up to dogs, she seems to do well around cats! Overall, Lana may be happiest as the only dog, but if her new home does have a dog, she’ll need slow introductions and time to settle in. Lana is proving to be a wonderful little houseguest. She is pretty much potty trained, with only an occasional accident, and can be trusted loose in the house when her foster parents go out. At bedtime, give her a treat and she’ll happily head into her crate and sleep there through the night. But if you invite her into the human bed instead, she’s more than happy to accept! Lana is great in the car and excited to come along for the ride. She loves walks and exploring the neighborhood. She’s still working on her leash manners and can get excited and pull when she spots another dog, but she’s learning! Most of all, Lana is a sweet girl who wants to love and be loved. She’s ready to find her person or family and the forever home this little stray deserves.

Can provide a crate if needed but she's house trained and free roams indoors now. The Good: Shes extremely smart, learns well and isn't destructive. She can be trained with voice and hand commands. She's very active for her age and doesn't have an off setting - more like a standby mode. She's absolutely addicted to tennis balls! Adores children to the point of whining if she can't play with them. Even though she's a herding breed, she's never nipped at kids for running around or being loud. The Bad: Tessa is leash-reactive towards other dogs, so she's not the kind of dog you can take to the dog park or other doggy events. She's very selective with the dogs she'll get along with, usually she prefers small male breeds. She got into a fight with my other, bigger female dog and hasn't gotten over it in 3 years. No cats!

Meet Myla, who comes to us from the community. Myla is a 3.5-year-old Border Collie who was adopted about a year ago but came back to us when her owner passed away. She was then recently adopted by an older another couple who loved her very much, but they discovered she is very afraid of the vet and didn't do well with him, showing her fear by biting him (no stiches were needed and this can be fully prevented by a muzzle). Because of this, they decided to bring her back to us. Myla needs to go to a patient home where she can feel safe and loved again and gets the needed time to get adjusted to strangers. Because of this, Myla won't be able to go into a home with children. Myla definitely enjoys a calmer household so she can slowly adapt to her new environment and learn to trust her people. Once she gains your trust, she is the sweetest most devoted lady. Myla is a very happy, playful, silly, smart, and well-behaved girl. She is housebroken, crate trained, gets along well with other dogs, loves to play and go for walks (does great on leash), LOVES the water, and then curl up in your lap for some extreme snuggles. Until Myla can feel safe again, she prefers her walks with no stranger involvement. If someone were to pass by and ask to pet her, she prefers the answer to be a respectful no. Myla is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. If you are looking for a quiet, loving girl who is in need of a soft and safe landing, please reach out to us for an application to meet her.
