Story
Tessa is a 9yo border collie mix. An active household or one with kids living there or visiting often would be perfect for her. Can provide a crate if needed but she's house trained and free roams indoors now. The Good: Shes extremely smart, learns well and isn't destructive. She can be trained with voice and hand commands. She's very active for her age and doesn't have an off setting - more like a standby mode. She's absolutely addicted to tennis balls! Adores children to the point of whining if she can't play with them. Even though she's a herding breed, she's never nipped at kids for running around or being loud. The Bad: Tessa is leash-reactive towards other dogs, so she's not the kind of dog you can take to the dog park or other doggy events. She's very selective with the dogs she'll get along with, usually she prefers small male breeds. She got into a fight with my other, bigger female dog and hasn't gotten over it in 3 years. No cats!

Story
🎄 Meet Noelle — a Sweetheart with a Spark! ✨ Noelle is a loving, gentle girl with a calm spirit, but don’t let that fool you—she has a playful streak and isn’t shy about letting you know when she wants attention! Whether it’s a soft cuddle, a happy tail wag, or a little chat to tell you all about her day, Noelle brings warmth and personality to every moment. She loves calm, cozy time, but she also enjoys the occasional playful romp and engaging with her humans in her own talkative, sweet way. Noelle is looking for a home where she can be adored, appreciated, and included in all the quiet—and sometimes silly—moments life has to offer. If you’re ready for a sweet, playful, and chatty companion, Noelle is waiting to be your perfect furry friend! ❤️🐾 Noelle is in our Mutts with Manners training program! This program gives our residents more enrichment and a chance to truly shine outside the shelter—showing who they are beyond the cards that they have been dealt. Noelle is a blue star meaning she has just entered the program and is working on basic commands as well as leash manners!

Story
Meet Patunia! ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Patunia is an spayed, 2.5 year old female Border Collie mix, currently weighing around 68lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is found. This big sweetie is the ultimate girl’s girl! She’ll be your biggest cheerleader for the wins and the losses, and will always agree that your girl math is 100% correct, especially if it involves some goodies for her too. Patunia is very affectionate and LOVES to snuggle and get kisses from her people! You’ll always find her near by and she is a huge fan of sleeping in your bed. Patunia is very gentle towards children, and enjoys having them as a cuddle/play mate. She is fearful of men, but adores women and children. She can be independent, but prefers her humans close by. Once Patunia forms an attachment to you, she’ll hug your legs and won’t let go. She is very playful and obsessed with all of the toys! She shares well with the resident dogs and humans too. She does prefer to dine solo however, so feeding away from others is recommended. Patunia is high energy, favoring dogs that can keep up with her. She is very friendly towards other dogs, and is excellent on picking up on their cues, especially when a dog isn’t interested in playing. Patunia is cat friendly with slow introductions. She is very curious about the resident kitties, and will follow them around. She may chase them to get them to play, so supervision is recommended. This good girl is very well trained on a leash, walking gently and calmly, and she is house and crate trained. She is only crated when unsupervised or left home alone for her own safety, as she can chew on random items. She has a little separation anxiety, but having another pup around helps her feel safe. Patunia will thrive in a home with a family or a single woman looking for a best friend! She just needs to have a close bond of friendship and love. She would also benefit from having another dog in the house that will play endlessly and help her feel safe. She would love a spacious back yard to help burn off her energy. We can’t wait for Patunia to find someone who will spoil her endlessly, because she deserves that and more! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
