Story
Meet Myla, who comes to us from the community. Myla is a 3.5-year-old Border Collie who was adopted about a year ago but came back to us when her owner passed away. She was then recently adopted by an older another couple who loved her very much, but they discovered she is very afraid of the vet and didn't do well with him, showing her fear by biting him (no stiches were needed and this can be fully prevented by a muzzle). Because of this, they decided to bring her back to us. Myla needs to go to a patient home where she can feel safe and loved again and gets the needed time to get adjusted to strangers. Because of this, Myla won't be able to go into a home with children. Myla definitely enjoys a calmer household so she can slowly adapt to her new environment and learn to trust her people. Once she gains your trust, she is the sweetest most devoted lady. Myla is a very happy, playful, silly, smart, and well-behaved girl. She is housebroken, crate trained, gets along well with other dogs, loves to play and go for walks (does great on leash), LOVES the water, and then curl up in your lap for some extreme snuggles. Until Myla can feel safe again, she prefers her walks with no stranger involvement. If someone were to pass by and ask to pet her, she prefers the answer to be a respectful no. Myla is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. If you are looking for a quiet, loving girl who is in need of a soft and safe landing, please reach out to us for an application to meet her. She's worth it, we promise.

Story
Looking for a dog who's just as excited about a Saturday morning hike as she is about relaxing at your feet afterward? Meet JoJo!This girl pup is an 8-month-old Border Collie mix with striking black-and-white markings and an even more beautiful personality. At 29 pounds, she's expected to grow to around 40 pounds—a wonderful medium size that's ready to jump into the car whenever adventure calls. Her story started with hope when she and her identical sister were adopted as young puppies. Sadly, their family realized they simply didn't have enough time to meet the girls' needs, so JoJo is getting a second chance to find a home where she can truly thrive. She  is a wonderful blend of playful and easygoing. She loves kids, enjoys other dogs, and is always up for exploring somewhere new. She hasn't been introduced to cats yet, and while she and her sister have had a little too much fun chasing chickens together, we suspect that without her partner-in-crime, she may be much more interested in staying close to her people than stirring up barnyard trouble! As a Border Collie mix, JoJo is smart, athletic, and happiest when life includes activity. Daily walks, games in a fenced yard, hiking, camping, trips to the park, or learning new skills will help her shine. She'd likely have a blast trying agility, flyball, or dock diving alongside her future family. What this girl wants most isn't perfection. She wants someone who sees her as part of the family—a dog who gets to tag along on errands, explore new places, celebrate life's little moments, and always have a place to call home.If you've been thinking your life could use a little more laughter, a walking buddy, a travel companion, and a loyal best friend, JoJo might be exactly who you've been waiting for.   To learn more or request an adoption application, email ccrtennessee@gmail.comand be sure to include your city and state. Story
Meet Artsy Marcy – A Survivor with a Brilliant Mind and an Even Bigger Heart     Artsy Marcy is a beautiful Border Collie mix, around 2 years old and weighing 55–60 pounds. Her life began with unimaginable hardship, yet she has never let her past define her. It is believed that Marcy and her siblings were abandoned in a remote rural area of Tennessee. While trying to survive on their own, tragedy struck when they were hit by a train. Her sister did not survive, and Marcy was left with a severely dislocated hip. Thanks to a compassionate foster who refused to give up on her, Marcy received the surgery and care she desperately needed. Today she has only a slight limp—a small reminder of just how far she has come.     Marcy is everything you would expect from a Border Collie mix: incredibly intelligent, observant, athletic, and eager to be part of whatever her people are doing. She loves hiking, exploring, and would thrive in an active home where she can exercise both her body and her mind. She has a natural herding instinct and enjoys having a job or purpose.   She is wonderful with people and genuinely enjoys human companionship. While she may be a little shy during first introductions, she warms up quickly and forms strong, loyal bonds. Once she trusts you, she is affectionate, devoted, and eager to please.     Marcy has lived around cats, but she does have a prey drive, so any home with cats should be experienced and committed to proper introductions and management. She also does well with some dogs but can be selective about her canine companions. Like many intelligent, confident working breeds, she appreciates respectful introductions and clear leadership. She would do best with an adopter who understands Border Collie personalities and will provide consistent structure, training, and outlets for her energy.     Marcy isn't looking to be just another dog lying quietly in the corner. She is looking for someone who will appreciate her intelligence, celebrate her spirit, and give her the freedom to be the amazing Border Collie mix she was born to be.   Against all odds, this remarkable girl survived when she easily could have been another forgotten statistic. Now she deserves the happy ending she has fought so hard for.   If you'd like to learn more about Artsy Marcy or speak with the foster mom who saved her life, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.     Could you be the person who gives this extraordinary survivor the forever home she's been waiting for?       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 1, 2026, 1:56 pm
