Story
And our boy Colt is ready to find a family to call his own - as most of you saw after his neuter he started having urinary issues which we knew could have been from inflammation after the surgery and he was on meds for that but to rule out anything serious we did all the testing including bloodwork, urinalysis and radiographs and everything was clear - so after a little more time we are glad to say that he is no longer having these issues which is a huge relief - just needed a little bit more time to heal. This boy is simply amazing - he was born August 2023 so he is still a young pup but he came to our last event and his amazing foster Mom, Kara, has done amazing things with him and he was so so well behaved. His last weight was 38 pounds so we do think he will be a smaller border collie but he has that amazing border collie spirit Here is what his foster mom had to say about him: Colt is the sweetest boy ever. He LOVES attention. Colt is a very affectionate pup so would need a family that doesn’t mind him in their personal space! So far he has been amazing with kids but please be aware that since he is very affectionate and does get very playful at times, he could potentially knock them over. He does great with all dogs but he does not understand how big he is so I would recommend all dogs in home to be over 15 pounds. He walks perfect on a leash. Colt is pretty much fully potty trained but will need someone to keep being consistent with taking him out. He is also fully crate trained. He is still figuring out toys and how to play fetch but loves his chew bones. Colt has a very good off switch, meaning he knows when it’s time to just chill inside but that does not mean he doesn’t have a lot of energy, he definitely will need an active family! He is a very smart boy so would thrive with continued training, he loves treats so makes it easier to work with him! Overall Colt is honestly just an amazing pup and really his only “flaw” is that he doesn’t do good in a car so will need a patient person to work with him or wait until he grows out of it. Colt's adoption fee is $250.00 - he is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, has had a full bloodwork panel done, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. If you are interested in adopting Colt, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. We do NOT set up a meet and greet until the application has been received and reviewed. We do vet references and a home visit as well. And as a reminder we do not have a facility - all of our dogs are in private foster homes throughout western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. This boy is going to be an AMAZING addition to some very lucky family - get those applications in soon

My name is Jolene, but you can call me your future fur-ever friend. I'm a 3-year-old Border Collie/German Shepherd mix, a blend of intelligence, affection and playful spirit. Let me tell you a bit about myself, from my own pawspective!A Brainy Beauty: They say I'm a mix of two of the smartest breeds, and I proudly live up to that! I'm not just a pretty face with my long, lush fur; I've got the brains too. I know lots of commands like 'sit', 'stay', 'down', and even 'NOW' (for when things are super important). I'm crate-trained, which means I have my own cozy den where I feel safe and happy.Lover of Learning: I'm always eager to learn new tricks and skills. Teaching me is as easy as giving me treats and some of your time. I love showing off my tricks, and I'm always up for learning more.Cuddly Companion: My favorite part of the day is cuddling with you. Yes, you! I may have lots of energy for running and playing fetch, but I'm also an expert in the art of relaxation. I adore snoozing by your side, and I'm a big fan of TV – dog shows and nature documentaries are my favorites!Adventure Buddy: Car rides? Errands? Count me in! I'm your go-to girl for all adventures. My energetic nature makes me a perfect companion for outdoor activities, but what I love most is spending time with my human.A Home with Heart: My current family loves me a lot, but, alas, my beautiful long hair isn't the best for their allergies. I'm dreaming of a home with a fenced yard where I can zoom around and play to my heart's content. Smaller furry siblings are great, but I'm a bit unsure around dogs my size (about 45 pounds) or larger.A Heart Full of Love: At the end of the day, all I want is to give and receive love. I promise to be your loyal friend, your confidant and your most enthusiastic adventure partner. If you have room in your home and heart for a sweet, intelligent and loving companion, look no further. I'm here, wagging my tail, waiting for our paths to cross. Let's make beautiful memories together!Ready to meet me? Reach out to sam.kocharov@gmail.com or 561-504-4631 and let's set up a time. I can't wait to start our journey together! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. May 3, 2024, 4:16 pm

Story
Angel is thought to be a red merle Australian cattle dog mix who is 3-4 years old. She must have been dumped as a young puppy as she is not socialized to humans. She was trapped while running with two larger dogs. The dogs hunted chickens and cats to survive. We are so grateful that Angel got into the trap because the other two dogs were shot and killed by irate neighbors. Angel is 28 lbs and very healthy. She is stout and compact and would be great as a hiking companion or just a good little dog to sleep in your bed. Angel is making slow progress in becoming a pet. We have built a good relationship, and I can touch her all over and pick her up. She is still not use to a leash, but she comes when called and is very obedient. She is very food motivated and that will be the key to continuing her socialization. Angel lives at a pet hotel and is exposed to many dogs each day. She is playful and confident with other dogs. When she first meets another dog, she wants to assert her dominance. She needs mild correction and then she can be off leash and playing in no time. Angel cannot be with cats. Angel is getting more and more accustomed to strangers every day. It takes time to develop a relationship with her. Let’s face it Angel needs some love. She will need a patient, competent leader to continue her progress. **Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org
