Story
Meet Buddy! Age: approx 5-6 years. Breed: border collie mix. Size: about 50lbs currently, we estimate 55-60ish pounds once he gains a little weight. Training: crate, leash, and appears to be house trained as well. Basic commands. Good with dogs/cats? Yes to dogs. He was a little too curious about the cat. Good with men/women/kids? Yes. Loves everyone he meets! He is very loyal and just wants to be by your side. Personality: friendly, loyal, affectionate. Reason for rescue: Buddy showed up at a neighbors home who reached out to us to help Buddy. Through social media, we were able to found Buddy's owner, however she was hospitalized and has since passed away . Buddy had originally showed up at their home and when they couldn't locate an owner, they had decided to give him a home. Buddy has been through so much and is in need of a forever home! He is neutered, and scheduled to have his vaccinations and heartworm test. If you are interested in adding Buddy to your family, please message for an adoption application. Adoption fee: $75June 3, 2023, 10:51 pm

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: See below. Reason for being in rescue: Beaux originally came to CPR in 2015 as an owner surrender. He was adopted by a loving family. Unfortunately, Beaux became aggressive toward a small dog in the home and he was returned to CPR in June 2018. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? None noted Weight: Est 48 lbs (he's a little chunky) Height: Est 24" at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Beaux would prefer a home with experienced owners of his breed and temperament. Currently, he is living with several other same size and bigger dogs as he doesn't like little dogs that represent prey. Beaux prefers proper dog on dog introductions to help him get used to his new friends. He would rather make human friends than dog friends because he knows people will play ball with him.  Beaux's new family will need to understand that as a working breed, Beaux needs and wants a job to do. He is not a couch potato! A big fenced in yard with plenty of open space to run and often hikes would be just right. Beaux does not want to run alone, he wants to be with his people and/or in his safe place - his crate.   What is my personality like? Beaux is a gorgeous brown and white border collie. He is incredibly friendly to people and thinks they are wonderful. Beaux does have a lot of anxiety in him, anxiety that will temper but not completely alleviate once he is in his new home.  He does have mild separation anxiety because he wants to be with his people as much as possible.  Beaux is so smart, he can actually open doors when the mood strikes him! He enjoys being loved on and running around. He is very mellow in his crate, but Beaux needs space where he can be free to run and enjoy life. He plays fetch and is not aggressive at all when you take the ball back from him. He just wants to be with you. He lets you know when he is ready to rest by nosing the door to go back in. Beaux loves to be outside and loves going on hikes with his caregivers. Big fenced yards give him plenty of space to run off energy. Beaux is medium energy, depending on what is going on around him. Beaux is not food or crate aggressive to people he knows. A new person needs introduced before they can take the bowl out. A new person becomes a BFF in just a few hours. Simply spend some time with him and you will earn his trust.  He is a toy hoarder and he loves anything that squeaks. He also absolutely loves to be groomed and gets so exciting on bath and brush days. He is very clean in his crate! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Estimated Birthdate: 9/19/2011.  Be prepared for a lot of people to tell you what a stunning, beautiful dog you have.   House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. June 3, 2023, 5:20 pm

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi my name is Chase. I am 9 year old Border Collie. I have been with the same family since I was adopted as a young puppy. I have lots of energy and love love love to play fetch. I am house trained and crate trained. I like to think that I am very smart and eager to learn. Unfortunately, there has been a few life changing events for my human family over the last couple of years that has made it more difficult to care for me. I am good with other dogs but cats are unknown. Good with older kids. I am looking for an experienced adopter who has lots of time and can manage a few habits. I am triggered by load noises and will bark. I am afraid of thunder and best to crate me if a storm is coming. I have some separation anxiety. I know that being rehomed is not a bad thing and I am excited to see what my future holds.

Story
Bailey loves to play ball. If you throw it she will bring it back, then tease you and offer it to you and keep it. She will go for quite a long time just playing ball. She is protective, and will be standoffish from you until you throw the ball. Then she is your friend. She is affectionate and wants to be with you as much as possible. She is defensive around other dogs, especially when on a leash, but take her off the leash and she gets along with most other animals. She hasn't been around a lot of small children, but the ones she has been around she has gotten along with them just fine. Especially if they throw a ball. She is extremely smart, well behaved and affectionate; maybe a little excitable in the interest of fun. She has no medical issues and acts younger than her ten years. I am rehoming her is because I recently moved from a house with a yard to an apartment without a yard. She has adapted to the new routine, but would be happier in a house with a yard to run in.

Story
This is London. She is a 1 year old Border Collie lab mix. Full of energy. She is UTD on all shots, I have her shot records. I just got her spayed and microchipped last month. She is well cared for. I need to rehome her. As much as that breaks my heart I don’t have the time she needs anymore. With work and school, since I picked up a summer semester as well. She’s loving and a bit shy but when she warms up to you she is a joy to be around. She love car rides. She has a bed tent she loves and a crate. That goes to say she’s crate trained, house trained, good with kids. Knows Sit, Lay, stay and up, which I changed to hug lol

Story
Our pretty girl is called Danvers and she is a highly intelligent and smart Border Collie girl that is looking for someone that understands how her brain works. She is a 3.5 year old female that is a little higher on the weight chart than she should be…..40 pounds now and should be more like 35 pounds. She is living in an apartment setting and needs a totally new environment.  She would thrive happily in a place with a fenced yard, a relaxed owner who knows how to be her alpha and who is a confident dog owner.  She does great on a leash and she is typically good with other dogs but she needs an owner who is not anxious on new meetings of dogs.  Danvers is picking up on some anxiety and she doesn’t need to, but Border Collies know what is happening all around them.   She is totally trained on all the commands that you want a dog to know.  She is with an owner who has gone through a big life transition and she cannot keep Danvers by herself as a single person in the home.   This girl is so smart and so willing to learn and absorb a good leader in her life.   Could that be you!?    If so please send us an email at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 3, 2023, 6:04 pm
