Story
This is 11 year old Stella. Her mom adopted her as a puppy from us in 2014. Stella's mom is having some health issues that require her to go to a nursing home. At this point her family is not sure if it will be temporary or long term. Her main concern is Stella, which she considers her 3rd child. Since Stella is an ABLAR alumni, we want to step up for Stella and her mom. WE NEED A FOSTER FOR STELLA ASAP !! She is house, leash and crate trained. Super sweet and loving. Stella weighs approx 50 lbs. She is still very active and loves squeaky toys. She has been the only furbaby but does get along with other dog friendly dogs. Cats unfortunately are not a good mix for Stella. She is also used to a fenced in yard but that would not be necessary since she is leash trained. Please contact 828-612-2951 if you can foster Stella for us. We try to limit our travel time for home visits to a two-hour driving range (about 75 miles) from Morganton, NC. Story
Bear the SWEETHEART!! Estimated Birthday: 11/3/25 Estimated Size: Medium to Large Bear is the male runt from a litter of 8. He currently weighs 18 lbs. He is very sweet and loving! His mama babied him a little more than the others. As a result, he is very loving but also seems to be very humble. He shows demure confidence in meeting new people and visiting new environments. He is a snuggle bug, and loves to be babied! He is a very very sweet boy. Most of the time quiet and bashful, but has already began finding his voice. Loves to be held and petted more than anything, but also more than happy to be active and playing games. LOVES playing in the water. Absolute cuddle bug and he is so precious. (He was mommas boy when they were tiny pups). Bear is in need of a foster home ASAP!! You provide the love, we will continue to provide food, vet care, preventative meds, and supplies. All American Mix. His mama appears to be a Boxer mix. We think they may potentially have some pitbull terrier, lab, hound. Bear is colored more like a Border Collie, and has soft fuzzy hair. We try to limit our travel time for home visits to a two-hour driving range (about 75 miles) from Morganton, NC. This is Felix. He is super sweet. He has the markings of border collie in a way, but is shaped more like his mom and has short hair. He is lovable. He likes to hang with his brothers and sisters, but will come for attention as well. Housetraining is not 100%, but he is very close. We don't know what breed(s) Felix is. His mom appears to be a Manchester Terrier. Using an online calculator, it is estimated that his full grown weight will be about 50 lbs. We don't know what breed(s) his father is, so we don't know how accurate this is. DOB: 9/30/25. Felix is neutered, had all of his vaccines and been microchipped. Story
Bluey is a mix of Border Collie, Australian Cattlle Dog and Blue Heeler. Just look at those eyes. they will break your heart, He has flourished with lots of playtime and love. He is 1 1/2 years old and still chews, but only toys and chewies now. He also knows to come, sit and lay down. and is doing great at playing catch, he absolutely loves it and long walks or even runs. He is completely house broken. and he goes in the crate when told, and even seems to prefer to sleep in one, Will go in and sit quiet when advised. Bluey will need to be on a special diet his whole life to to a hereditary liver shunt, which seems to be well controlled by the diet We give him farmers dog in the morning and the liver diet at night, and he is doing great, so his cost will be about $50 a month for food, this is not unreasonable for a good quality food and more than paid back by the love and attention he will give. Bluey plays great with other dogs, but still seems to be up in your face to them and overactive and some of the other dogs put him in his place to quit. So he would probably be best in a home by himself or another dog that wont get in his face and will let him have his space when it is not play time. He is affectionate, loving, and loyal.

Story
Bennett is a Border Collie/Collie mix. He is 4 years old, neutered and up to date on all his vaccines. He is about 50/55 pounds and very friendly and affectionate. He walks well on a leash and knows some commands. For now we think he might be an only dog unless the other dogs is laid back.

Story
We got Savannah from the local Humane Society in May 2023.Beautiful, timid, protective. She is SO SHY; slow to warm up to new people. She needs a gentle patient human who can take the time to develop a bond. Savannah is 65 lb. I estimate 2-3 years old. I think she is her full size. She is clumsy like a puppy. When she used to sleep on my bed she would accidently roll off in the night--hilarious, but also startling.Sadly, one of my other dogs started biting Savannah. I think Savannah would do well with other dogs, just not mine. I can give much more detail about this.I wish we could keep her ourselves, but with a toddler, I cannot tolerate any chance of dogs getting out of hand. Since the issues (other dogs fault) and the baby, Savannah has had to be an exclusively outdoor dog. She doesn't want to be. She desperately needs a close human bond. I hate that we've had to push her away like this. She deserves better.w/ cats - curious and timid, not yet aggressive.w/ kids - gentle, tho clumsy.

Story
Kane is a handsome Border Collie mix with a sensitive soul and a heart full of love just waiting for the right person to unlock it. This sweet boy can be timid with strangers and new places. In fact, after he was adopted once before, he got spooked and ended up on his own for nearly a month. But here’s what that tells us about Kane: he needs patience, understanding, and a home that will help him feel safe and secure. Once Kane knows he’s safe, his true personality shines. He absolutely adores attention — especially belly rubs — and he’ll happily repay you with a shower of sweet kisses. His tail wags a little harder, his eyes soften, and you can practically see the trust growing day by day. Kane loves to stretch his legs, running and playing in our fenced area with pure joy. Walks are one of his favorite things, and he lights up when it’s time for playdates. He enjoys meeting new dogs and truly thrives when he has a canine buddy to romp around with. Underneath his cautious exterior is an energetic, affectionate, and deeply loyal companion. Kane isn’t looking for just any home — he’s looking for his person. Someone who understands that the best relationships are built on patience and trust. If you’re willing to give him the time he needs, Kane will give you something truly special in return: unwavering love, playful adventures, and a bond that only comes from helping a shy heart feel safe again. Could you be the fresh start Kane has been waiting for? 🐾
