Story
Hi there, I'm Sedona! I am a border collie mixed breed girl who is currently doing well with my foster family but am looking for my forever home. I am believed to be around 6 months old or so. I love people, and I love walks!! I am still very puppy and playful! But I am smart and learning new training every day. I am patient and treat-motivated. I do not take long to warm up -- I love friends! Can I be your new best friend?

Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Jazzy is the kind of dog who brings energy and happiness into your life—without overwhelming it. She’s playful, friendly, and fun, but also has an independent side that makes her easy to live with. Her past isn’t pretty—but you’d never know it. Jazzy is social and confident, great with dogs of all sizes and cats, and naturally fits into whatever environment she’s in. She’ll happily join in on playtime, go on walks, or even randomly take a dip in the pond—then settle down like it’s no big deal. She’s affectionate without being clingy and has that ideal balance people are always looking for but rarely find. Good fit: someone who wants a fun, social dog that adds energy and joy to daily life without being overwhelming or demanding. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $550 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
✨Meet Lady Glitter Sparkles✨ Yes. That is her government name. And yes—she earned it. Lady Glitter Sparkles arrived as a stray on 3/11/26, likely after finishing a world tour of being fabulous and sprinkling joy (and probably a little chaos) wherever she went. At about 2 years old, she is in her prime: confident, charming, and fully aware that she is, in fact, the moment. She is a pretty girl who absolutely lives up to her name—minus the actual glitter (we checked… mostly). She’s incredibly sweet, super friendly, and operates under one very important belief system: “Everyone I meet is my best friend, and every hot dog belongs to me.” Speaking of hot dogs… if you have one, congratulations—you now have Lady Glitter Sparkles’ full attention, loyalty, and possibly your personal space revoked. She will love you deeply, immediately, and with zero hesitation. She may look like a big glamorous superstar in her photos, but plot twist—she’s actually around 40 lbs of pure sparkle and sass. Compact. Portable. Perfect for your everyday life upgrade. Lady Glitter Sparkles is the kind of dog who turns heads, steals hearts, and probably assumes every room she enters has a spotlight. And honestly? She’s not wrong. ✨If your home is missing a little sparkle, a lot of personality, and a hot dog enthusiast with main character energy—your girl is waiting.✨ 📍 Lady Glitter Sparkles is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH 📞 419-774-5892 📧 dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov Adoption is an application process—apply today and add a little ✨dazzle✨ to your life.

Story
In the Prison Dog Program Meet Damian!! He came in as a stray on 11/16/25, and we think he’s about 3 years old. This is actually his second time here—he was adopted from us in 2023. We aren't sure why his owner hasn’t come in to pick him up, but what we do know is that Damian is ready to start fresh with someone who truly sees his sparkle. Damian is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky guy who just needs someone who can help him channel all that enthusiasm into fun, love, and adventure. He is super sweet, incredibly friendly, and he gives the kind of gentle kisses that melt your heart on contact. He already knows how to sit and shake, and he’s eager to learn more—especially if treats are involved! He is available for adoption, so hurry in to meet this lovable boy who’s hoping his next home is his forever one. Damian is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH Phone: 419-774-5892 It is an application process. You can request one via dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov

Story
Luna is a 2 year old Bernese Mountain Dog/Australian Shepherd mix 65 weighing pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Luna is a friendly and happy girl! She has a lot of energy and doesn't realize her own size. She's playful, enjoys all toys & playing fetch. She has separation anxiety which means she does not do well when left alone. She would thrive in an active home that can spend lots of time with her and provide an outlet for her energy. Housebroken and crate trained. Great with baths. Will chew on shoes if given the opportunity and when left alone. Can be fearful of men with loud voices. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm.
