Story
Scott is a 6 year old AKA certified border collie looking for an owner that may be interested in training for frizbee or agility. He has endless energy even after his walks and tossing the ball. Scott is a born athlete that is very interested in having a full time job. That said, Scott comes with some behavioral challenges that are becoming overwhelming for his single mom owner. He is an anxious dog who is very much fueled by toys, especially balls and frisbees. He is skittish to some sounds and will bear his teeth or growl when he gets too overstimulated. He is good with other female dogs but not so great with other boys. He is crate trained and has good recall skills and he can catch anything you throw at him. We hate to rehome Scott but feel guilty we cannot provide him with a more enriching life that we know someone else would love to do. Any rehoming fee we receive will be donated to a charity. We just wish to find the right family for him.

Story
Lia and Nico are the two best companions anyone could wish for. It would be wonderful if they were adopted together. They are brother and sister 8 years old purchased from a breeder in Eastern PA at 12 weeks. They are sweet, loyal, loving, obedient, incredibly smart and wonderful companions. Nico prefers to be outside but is equally happy indoors. Lia prefers to be where you are, whether indoors or out. Again super smart and respond to Come, Stay, Sit, Paw, Down, Sit on Beds, Find the ball.

Story
MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Colt is a striking red Border Collie with brains, bounce, and a whole lot of heart. True to his breed, this boy is extremely intelligent, agile, and always ready for his next job. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to do life with you — Colt is your guy. He is potty trained and crate trained (though he may voice a small opinion about the crate at first). He settles quickly and is very responsive to gentle correction. Colt is also neutering soon, which should help curb some of his outdoor marking habits. He did attempt to mark indoors once, received one correction, and hasn’t tried again — smart boy! Colt does beautifully with other dogs. He reads them well, plays appropriately, and genuinely enjoys canine companionship. In fact, he recently discovered the joy of toys after another dog showed him how fun they can be! He’ll engage with toys, but truthfully, he prefers being close to his human above all else. As expected from a Border Collie, Colt is high energy and thrives when he has a purpose. He is still learning leash manners and working on impulse control (he can get excited and jump up), but he is incredibly attentive and eager to learn. He already knows “sit” and “down,” has excellent distance recall, and picks up on training quickly. With structure and consistency, he will absolutely shine. He has a big-dog bark when someone approaches the door — he takes his “alert system” job seriously! — but the moment they walk in, he turns into all wiggles and friendliness. We’re also working on not bolting out doors in his excitement to greet people. Colt has not yet been introduced to cats or children. This handsome, high-drive boy will thrive in an active home that understands the Border Collie mindset — one that offers exercise, mental stimulation, and partnership. He is deeply loyal, highly trainable, and ready to bond with someone who appreciates a smart, spirited companion. If you’re looking for a brilliant adventure buddy who wants to be your right-hand man, Colt is waiting. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 2 years Adoption Fee: $350
