Ygritte is getting ready to turn two years old and is full of love once she learns to trust you. She is a herding dog and would be best suited at a home with a fenced in yard or where she can receive regular exercise. Ygritte is good with dogs, has done doggy daycare, and lives with a dog and cat who she gets along well with. She's fully vaccinated and current on prevention medication. She is very timid around strangers and can be anxious in new environments but she is very cuddly once she trusts her humans.

Story
Meet Flurry, a 1½-year-old Lab mix with a gentle heart and a sweet, soulful nature that is sure to win you over. While she can be a bit nervous when meeting new faces, her previous foster family has seen her true, loving personality blossom with just a little patience and a calm approach. Because she values a predictable environment while she builds her confidence, she is looking for a home with children ages 12 and up who can respect her space and let her warmup at her own pace.During her time in foster care, Flurry proved to be an exceptionally easy houseguest. She is fully housebroken; crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night. She strikes a perfect balance between play and relaxation; while she has a silly side and enjoys periods of activity, she is also a master at mellowing out once the fun is over. She is wonderfully independent and can easily entertain herself as long as she has her favorite `tough stuffies` and chew toys to keep her busy. For Flurry, a good toy and a tasty treat are the keys to a happy afternoon. It is important to note that Flurry is looking to be the only pet in her new home. She is still working on her socialization skills and needs to be the sole recipient of your affection to truly thrive. She is seeking kind, understanding adopters who are ready to provide the structure and encouragement she needs to become the confident companion we know she can be. If you are looking for a loyal, self-sufficient, and affectionate girl to complete your family, Flurry is waiting to share her heart with you.

Meet Hannah: The 65lb Diamond in the Fluff! 💎✨ Are you looking for a professional napper with a heart of gold? Hannah is an 11-year-young Border Collie mix who proves that age is just a number and "curvy" is a lifestyle! Currently weighing in at 65 lbs, Hannah is on a dedicated fitness journey (aren’t we all?) to get back to her svelte self. But don’t let the diet fool you—she’s got plenty of "spunk" left in her step! Why Hannah is the ultimate roommate: Expert Snoozer: Her favorite hobby is sleeping upside down on the couch. High-level gymnastics? No, just Hannah at nap time. 🤸‍♀️💤 Social Butterfly: She absolutely adores people and gets along famously with other dogs. Cuddle Bug: She’s a world-class snuggler and currently spends her nights tucked up with her canine foster siblings. 🐕❤️ Hannah found herself looking for a new chapter after her previous owner moved into assisted living. She’s handled the transition with total grace and is ready to bring her soulful eyes and goofy upside-down smiles to a forever home. If you have a couch, a heart for seniors, and a commitment to her "less kibble, more cuddles" plan, Hannah is waiting for you! Story
Age: ~2 years oldBreed: Border Collie MixSex: MaleWeight: 60 lbs Energy Level: Moderate Meet Murphy!Murphy is a stunning black-and-white Border Collie mix with beautiful ticking and an even more beautiful heart. This sweet boy hasn’t had the easiest start in life, but despite everything, he continues to love people and looks forward to finding a forever family of his own.Murphy first found himself in a county shelter, where he was adopted just one week later by an older couple living in an apartment. Unfortunately, Murphy was simply too strong and energetic for their lifestyle, and after six months he was returned to the shelter — only to end up on the euthanasia list.Thankfully, Murphy was given a second chance, and now he’s ready for the life he truly deserves.Murphy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and genuinely enjoys their company. He especially loves having a canine buddy to play with, whether male or female. A home with another playful dog would be ideal for him.He is both crate trained and house trained, and one of his absolute favorite things is going for car rides. Murphy also loves to run around the backyard and roll in the grass — pure joy for this boy! Because he enjoys outdoor play so much, a physically fenced yard would be best for him. His future family should be committed to positive, force-free training methods only, so no electric fences, e-collars, prong collars, or similar training tools.Murphy enjoys walks, although he can pull at times. His foster family has been working with him, and he’s making progress, but his forever family will need to continue using positive reinforcement training. He’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and already knows basic commands along with a few fun tricks. Murphy catches on quickly and responds very well to guidance. A formal training class would be a wonderful way to continue building his confidence and strengthen the bond with his forever family.Because of his strength and enthusiasm, Murphy would do best in a home with children over the age of 10.One thing Murphy is still discovering is how to simply be a dog. He hasn’t quite figured out fetch yet — almost as if he never had the opportunity to learn in his previous homes. Watching him experience new things and learn how to play has been incredibly rewarding.Murphy is ready for a family that will be patient, active, and committed to giving him the love, structure, and companionship he’s always deserved. In return, he’ll give endless loyalty, affection, and plenty of happy car ride adventures.Murphy is neutered, current on vaccinations, HW negative and microchipped.Location: Northeast OhioContact: tlb145@aim.comPlease visit our webpage to see Murphy and his friendshttps://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs

Story
In Olmsted Township - Hey everyone! Let us introduce you to Mr. Max R. Roni. Max is an almost 7 year old Australian Shepherd. He’s had a sad past, losing his home, his mom and dad and now looking for a forever home to accept him as he is. It’s time for Max to find his furever home and thrive. Max came to ASF grossly overweight. He has been with his foster for several months trying to get some of his weight off and to help him be happy again. He’s lost a lot of weight already and is feeling much better. Max is a gentle old soul. When in the house, he’s pretty chill… he’ll find his spot and most of the time he’ll hang there alone. He will bring you his tennis ball (his FAVORITE toy) and wants you to toss it once he gives it to you. Max really loves butt rubs and being petted. He gets super excited to go outside and play ball or chase or catch a rolled Frisbee. When it’s time to quit, he just finds a spot to lay down. Max gets nervous on car rides and isn’t a fan. He’s very content staying at home. Walks are okay; he’s a bigger boy so he does pull some. Max is great left in the house all day: no accidents, no destruction. He does like the couch and would prefer to share your bed. Max has an issue with resource guarding toys… all toys belong to Max. Thus, a home with a submissive female or as an only dog would be best. His submissive 2 year old female foster sister Aussie plays chase with him but will drop any toy she has when Max comes near. He wasn’t nice the first time, so she just lets him have any toy. (The male Aussie in the house did not back down and this didn’t go well at all.) Due to his resource guarding, a home with small children would not be advised nor any dominant dog. Max is a sweet boy who just needs to find the right home. Someone to pet him on the couch, toss the ball for him once in while, take him out in the yard while you work or enjoy sitting and watching the day pass. Max is neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, housebroken, crate trained, and on HW/flea prevention. He is currently being fostered in Olmsted Township, OH. There is an additional $20 fee to transfer his microchip to his new owners. All adoption fees go to help rescue other dogs like Max. Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Strongsville, OH *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Riley! He is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix (the other breed is unknown) and weighs around 80 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Riley wants all of the attention! He would do best as the only dog or in a home with a dog who doesn’t mind him getting more attention. He hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. Riley needs a quiet home with older children or without any children, because he doesn’t like them yelling or running past him. The owner is surrendering him because he nips their children whenever they run or yell. He also resource guards food when around their other dog. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Riley, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions.
