Story
Rufus is a lovable pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Rescued as a puppy, we believe he’s a Shepherd/Border Collie mix, full of energy and loyalty. He’s very affectionate and loves being close to his people, whether cuddling or following you around.Rufus would do best as the only dog, as he thrives on one-on-one attention. He is good with cats and has been raised around babies, toddlers, and children. He’s energetic and will need regular exercise, along with a fenced yard or secure outdoor space. He is partially potty trained and does best with frequent outdoor breaks, especially if left alone for long periods. Rufus is sensitive and sometimes anxious, and would thrive in a patient, loving home that can give him the time and attention he deserves.

Story
Meet Hannah: The 65lb Diamond in the Fluff! 💎✨ Are you looking for a professional napper with a heart of gold? Hannah is an 11-year-young Border Collie mix who proves that age is just a number and "curvy" is a lifestyle! Currently weighing in at 65 lbs, Hannah is on a dedicated fitness journey (aren’t we all?) to get back to her svelte self. But don’t let the diet fool you—she’s got plenty of "spunk" left in her step! Why Hannah is the ultimate roommate: Expert Snoozer: Her favorite hobby is sleeping upside down on the couch. High-level gymnastics? No, just Hannah at nap time. 🤸‍♀️💤 Social Butterfly: She absolutely adores people and gets along famously with other dogs. Cuddle Bug: She’s a world-class snuggler and currently spends her nights tucked up with her canine foster siblings. 🐕❤️ Hannah found herself looking for a new chapter after her previous owner moved into assisted living. She’s handled the transition with total grace and is ready to bring her soulful eyes and goofy upside-down smiles to a forever home. If you have a couch, a heart for seniors, and a commitment to her "less kibble, more cuddles" plan, Hannah is waiting for you! Story
Scott is a 6 year old AKA certified border collie looking for an owner that may be interested in training for frizbee or agility. He has endless energy even after his walks and tossing the ball. Scott is a born athlete that is very interested in having a full time job. That said, Scott comes with some behavioral challenges that are becoming overwhelming for his single mom owner. He is an anxious dog who is very much fueled by toys, especially balls and frisbees. He is skittish to some sounds and will bear his teeth or growl when he gets too overstimulated. He is good with other female dogs but not so great with other boys. He is crate trained and has good recall skills and he can catch anything you throw at him. We hate to rehome Scott but feel guilty we cannot provide him with a more enriching life that we know someone else would love to do. Any rehoming fee we receive will be donated to a charity. We just wish to find the right family for him.

Story
In Olmsted Township - Hey everyone! Let us introduce you to Mr. Max R. Roni. Max is an almost 7 year old Australian Shepherd. He’s had a sad past, losing his home, his mom and dad and now looking for a forever home to accept him as he is. It’s time for Max to find his furever home and thrive. Max came to ASF grossly overweight. He has been with his foster for several months trying to get some of his weight off and to help him be happy again. He’s lost a lot of weight already and is feeling much better. Max is a gentle old soul. When in the house, he’s pretty chill… he’ll find his spot and most of the time he’ll hang there alone. He will bring you his tennis ball (his FAVORITE toy) and wants you to toss it once he gives it to you. Max really loves butt rubs and being petted. He gets super excited to go outside and play ball or chase or catch a rolled Frisbee. When it’s time to quit, he just finds a spot to lay down. Max gets nervous on car rides and isn’t a fan. He’s very content staying at home. Walks are okay; he’s a bigger boy so he does pull some. Max is great left in the house all day: no accidents, no destruction. He does like the couch and would prefer to share your bed. Max has an issue with resource guarding toys… all toys belong to Max. Thus, a home with a submissive female or as an only dog would be best. His submissive 2 year old female foster sister Aussie plays chase with him but will drop any toy she has when Max comes near. He wasn’t nice the first time, so she just lets him have any toy. (The male Aussie in the house did not back down and this didn’t go well at all.) Due to his resource guarding, a home with small children would not be advised nor any dominant dog. Max is a sweet boy who just needs to find the right home. Someone to pet him on the couch, toss the ball for him once in while, take him out in the yard while you work or enjoy sitting and watching the day pass. Max is neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, housebroken, crate trained, and on HW/flea prevention. He is currently being fostered in Olmsted Township, OH. There is an additional $20 fee to transfer his microchip to his new owners. All adoption fees go to help rescue other dogs like Max. Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Strongsville, OH *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Riley! He is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix (the other breed is unknown) and weighs around 80 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Riley wants all of the attention! He would do best as the only dog or in a home with a dog who doesn’t mind him getting more attention. He hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. Riley needs a quiet home with older children or without any children, because he doesn’t like them yelling or running past him. The owner is surrendering him because he nips their children whenever they run or yell. He also resource guards food when around their other dog. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Riley, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Riley. Owner’s Contact Information: Katharine k.mencini1@gmail.com
