Story
Hannah still needs a home! She's our diamond in the fluff! 💎✨ Are you looking for a professional napper with a heart of gold? Hannah is an 11-year-young Border Collie mix who proves that age is just a number and she's put her "curvy" lifestyle in the past! Currently weighing in at about 50 lbs. When she first came to TRI, she was 67 lbs. Hannah went on a dedicated fitness journey and got back to her svelte self. But don’t let the diet fool you—she’s got plenty of "spunk" left in her step! Why Hannah is the ultimate roommate: Expert Snoozer: Her favorite hobby is sleeping upside down on the couch. High-level gymnastics? No, just Hannah at nap time. 🤸‍♀️💤 Social Butterfly: She absolutely adores people. Cuddle Bug: She’s a world-class snuggler and currently spends her nights tucked up with her foster mom. 🐕❤️ Hannah found herself looking for a new chapter after her previous owner moved into assisted living. She’s handled the transition with total grace and is ready to bring her soulful eyes and goofy upside-down smiles to a forever home. If you have a couch, a heart for seniors, and a commitment to her "less kibble, more cuddles" plan, Hannah is waiting for you! Story
Meet Rio a 3 yr old Border Collie mix weighing 40 lbs. Rio is house-trained, crate-trained (will go nap in her crate with the door open). Rio was professionally trained and knows all her commands. Typical of her breed mix, she is very smart, maybe too smart?! Rio is a fantastic family dog and very loving and loyal to her family members and the children in her family, however the Border Collie is known to keep its family in check, so Rio struggles with random children running up to the kids in her family. Rio has stayed with other dogs, cats, and kids. She really just wants to be wherever her people are, whether lying next to your chair on the patio or at your feet under your desk. She loves to play fetch, and because she is a herding breed mix, a fenced-in yard is required so she has the freedom to run and play. She also has an "off switch" and is content just hanging out at the end of the day. She is a fantastic dog! Rio would do best in an adult home where she does not have to monitor and protect the children in the home. Rio is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for Heartworm. If you are interested in Rio, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Rio would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $200.00 If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Attn: Rio, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for credit card/PayPal information, adoption application, available dogs and upcoming events. Thank you!

Story
Skippy is a an awesome dog, but he does try to “herd” kids. He would do best as the only pet in an adult household. He will make someone very happy. We are devastated to give up this part of the family, but we are not able to take him where we’re going. He’s sooo lovable and knows all basic commands except for fetch. He does hug on command, but be ready for him to put his paws on your shoulders.

Story
Bear is about a 3 year old energetic male. My mother got him and his sister while she was living in Idaho. They had 60 acres for the dogs to run around and play with plenty of time to show him attention. Since moving to Ohio, he has not been able to run around and burn energy, due to a smaller yard. His owner unfortunately does not have the time to give him the attention he needs. He has never been raised around children, he is a one owner dog to an older lady. If properly acclimated to children, he may be compatable. He has only been raised around his bilogical sister, and would need aclimated with other animals.Bear would be a great dog for someone with a lot of room to run around and to be one on one with him. He is potty-trained; he sometimes needs reinforcements when it’s been a while since he has been outside. He usually barks to let you know when he has to go. Bear loves playing fetch, so he can keep you and himself entertained for a very long time.

Story
Meet Frankie! Frankie is a handsome 52-pound Lab mix who is estimated to be 2-3 years old. This sweet boy arrived at our shelter with his brother, CJ, after their beloved owner passed away. Their owner`s landlord lovingly cared for both dogs until they could be safely surrendered to our shelter.Frankie has been a wonderful guest since arriving. He`s happiest when he`s outside, whether he`s stretching his legs, exploring, or simply soaking up the fresh air. With his medium energy level, Frankie loves to play, run, and would thrive with an active family that will include him in life`s adventures. Hiking trails, trips to the park, and splashing around in the water all sound like Frankie`s idea of a perfect day! This smart boy already knows several commands, including `sit,` `quiet,` and `outside.` He can be strong on leash, so he`ll do best with someone who can continue his training and help him channel his enthusiasm. A fenced yard would be ideal, giving him a safe place to run and play.Frankie is reported to be dog-friendly. As always, if you have a resident canine, a meet-and-greet is required to ensure everyone is a perfect match. He has not been exposed to cats, and his compatibility with children is currently unknown.Frankie is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can welcome him home now while he finishes his veterinary care with the shelter. During this time, he`ll receive his vaccines, neuter, microchip, and heartworm testing—everything he needs to begin his next chapter safe, healthy, and loved.Ready to make Frankie part of your family? Email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online dog adoption application for Frankie today. Frankie`s adoption fee is $160.
