Story
Our longest-stay resident, Smokey, along with many of our canine residents, got a foster break this weekend during the snow and ice storm—and he is absolutely thriving. In a home setting, he’s doing amazing: nearly housebroken (only one accident the first day), crates easily, sleeps through the night, and is eager to please. He’s super smart and very trainable—one firm “no” is all it takes. He still loves to play like a puppy with toys and rope, then happily settles in for lap time and cuddles. He rides well in the car, sits quickly for treats, and bonds deeply with his people, always watching you to figure out how to make you happy. He’s about 4 years old, around 60 lbs, and truly no trouble at all. After thinking “oh no” about fostering the shelter’s longest resident, his foster says she couldn’t have been more wrong—he’s an absolute gem.❤️ 🌟Cat-free home, meet and greets with other pups is a must. He also is severely allergic to chicken🐓

Story
Sirius may be the biggest of his six siblings, but it’s his heart that truly makes him stand out. This good-natured boy is as sweet as they come—content with the simplest joys in life. A gentle “atta boy” or a quick pat is all it takes to make his day complete. With his easygoing spirit and loving nature, Sirius is ready to share his big heart with a family who will cherish him as much as he’ll cherish them. Could you be the one to make Sirius’ simple pleasures last a lifetime? All of our animals are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments encountered during veterinary examinations. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue our work. Sublime K9 in Jefferson City has a basic 4 week training program with owner and dog. It covers leash training and basic commands. This program would be available at no cost if Sirius' adopter is interested. An application does not obligate you to adopt. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will be in touch as soon as possible. Noah’s Arc is manned by volunteers, the shelter is not open to the public. Meet and greets for the animals are by appointment only.

Story
Summit – Your Gentle Giant Adventure Buddy 🐾 Meet Summit, a young mixed-breed boy with a big heart to match his big paws. This handsome guy may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a little time (and maybe a treat or two), and you’ll see his curious, adventurous personality shine through. Summit has a sleek short coat, a lovable gentle nature, and the sweetest soul. He plays well with other dogs and would enjoy a canine buddy—or soaking up all the love as your one-and-only. As one of our longest-staying residents, he’s more than ready to trade shelter life for couch cuddles, backyard exploring, and forever-family adventures. He’s fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations—so he’s all set to head home with you! Bonus perk: When you adopt Summit, you’ll receive a FREE 4-week training program with Sublime K9 in Jefferson City, where you’ll work on leash skills and basic commands to help him be the very best boy. Ready to meet Summit? Fill out an application today! There’s no commitment to adopt—it simply helps us match him with the perfect family.
