Story
Shadow was adopted from the shelter at estimated 3 years old. He is now estimated 6 years old. He shows signs of previous abuse and prefers a quiet home (preferably without kids). He does well with adults and is very fond of women. He is high anxiety and likes access to his crate or a closet for safety. He has always done well with new dogs outside of our home. At home he can be territorial unless he knows the other dog. We think he is part Basenji, and he extremely rarely barks. He is a lower energy dog and would be good in an apartment or smaller space.  Shadow is housebroken and uses bells to let you know when he needs to go outside. He knows basic commands, but they best demonstrated when he is not anxious. He loves a good bone but rarely plays with any toys.

Story
🖤 Meet Lulu: A Loyal and Loving Smartypants Wrapped in the Softest Fur Lulu is a beautiful Border Collie mix (we think with McNab) with soulful eyes, a brilliant mind, and the softest, most huggable furry coat. She loves to be part of your world and is eager to please. She’s wonderfully dog-friendly, respectful with kitties, and great with kiddos. Lulu is energetic and curious, She loves exploring the yard, sniffing out adventures, and keeping an eye on things—she’s a fantastic little guard dog who takes her job seriously (but never aggressively). - 🧠 Incredibly smart and eager to learn - 🐾 Gets along with dogs and cats - 🚗 Rides calmly in the car and settles in a crate with gentle encouragement - 🛁 Not a fan of baths, but adores being brushed - 🍽️ Mealtime is the BEST time —she’ll never let you forget dinner 😉 - 👧 Gentle and sweet with children Lulu is potty trained and thrives in a home where she can be included, active, and cherished. She’s looking for a family who’ll appreciate her loyalty, her playfulness, and her snuggly side. Lulu’s the kind of dog who’ll make you wonder how you ever lived without her, and she's just waiting to meet you. ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Bowie is incredibly sweet and loving, always happy to see you with a wiggle of his tail (butt wiggle included). He is almost 5, and was born sometime in October of 2020. He is great with other animals, has had two dog siblings, and a cat sibling. Wonderful with kids, absolutely adored my niece. He loves walks and car rides, but knows the words so be careful when you say them! He&#39ll get those little feet tippy-tapping and then you&#39re basically committed because who can say no. He is not super food motivated, but does enjoy treats and can sit and stay (but that&#39s the extent of his command training). Honestly, the best thing I can say about Bowie is that he is Just Happy to Be Included. Whether it&#39s with other dogs, or with his people. Very social and chill, no storm or separation anxiety. Will absolutely do a flop and let you rub his belly until your hand cramps and falls off. Seriously, it&#39s his favorite. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Bowie is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRMJune 22, 2025, 12:59 pm

She is wary of new things, but just needs a loving/guiding person to let her know everything is okay and safe. Victoria would do best in a calm home with no children. Story
Looking for a young female to adopt? Meet JUNO! Juno is a Border Collie lovers DREAM! She is everything you would want in a BC puppy (under 1 year old). She is a lovely girl and full of energy, well trained for the most part. Happy, healthy, spayed, FUN, and BEAUTIFUL, this pup is magnificent! She loves to swim, play with toys, and do tricks for treats! She is fostered in a home with cats and doesn't seem bothered by them. Sometimes she wants to play (which is not allowed, cat's preference) but is not aggressive with them. She has been around very young children a little bit but her puppy energy is too much for small children. Children over age 10 who know how to handle a dog should be ok. She crates well. If you seriously want a stunning BC pup, this is your girl! Apply to adopt at bcrrt.com.
