Thorin's owner passed away suddenly, and he needs a new home. He's smart, chill, and house trained. He is good with other dogs, and has experience around children. He's good with traveling, being on a leash, and a he's a very good boy at the vet. All and all, a great buddy who deserves loving care, and returns it enthusiastically. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Frankie was born in 2017 and has been with us since 2018. Frankie is a little on the nervous side with new people and needs a new family that will give him a little time to come out of his shell because of a neurological disorder. Once he does though, he would love to have a space to run around and act like his big goofy self! He is not a fan of the kennel, but does well in a yard and is calm once he is comfortable with his settings. He loves to play with fetch and play with ropes. He is a very smart boy. His most favorite thing is to curl of in your lap and give kisses.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heartworm preventative, heartworm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.

Sweet Opal was found in February 2021 with her babies. She was completely feral and seemed like she had never had human contact. She went to a foster home where she got to spend time with her babies until they were ready to be adopted. As soon as she was ready, she was brought to our facility where she would be in contact with more people and start socializing and trusting people. It has taken several months but the staff and volunteers can walk her on a leash a little bit more each day. Her friend Huey gives her more confidence. She would do good in a home where she can come and have her space and take her time to warm up. She will shy away and but does not get aggressive at all. That's the reason we want her to make a smooth transition when finding her forever home. Opal would do great with a doggie sibling that could teach her to accept love and learn to be a happy trusting dog. We love her at the rescue and hope she finds that family to love and trust. Opal is believed to be between 2 and 3 years old. RJ is an AMAZING, stunning boy who is 6 years old, good with other dogs, loves truck rides, cuddles and doing country dog things! His is a Border Collie/German Shepherd mix, weighs about 60 pounds. He is always happy and ready for an adventure! RJ is an active dog who loves to be out and about doing things with his people. That could be walking through the woods, filling up deer feeders, playing in the pound with his dog friends or just going on walks. He’s not a big fan of toys and isn’t good with free ranging chickens. He is food motivated! He can hang in there for a 3 mile walk or an all day adventure helping mow pastures. At the end of the day he knows how to turn it off and settle down. He enjoys a good days work but has no complaints on takeing a break for a day or two every now and then! He doesn’t mind turning his body into a tiny ball just so he can sit in the same chair as you. RJ was heartworm positive when he found his foster family. He helped many other foster dog get better and find their own home. He is now healthy, HW- and ready to find his forever people! The best fit for RJ will be a physically active lifestyle with people who can keep up with this very handsome, good boy!
