Story
Meet Bowie!! Born in October 2020, he is the definition of joy in a furry package. He's incredibly sweet, loving, and always greets you with a full body wiggle (yes, butt wiggle included!) Looking for a personality? He is friendly with all and a social butterfly. Bowie adores his canine and feline friends and has perfect manners with children. He's happiest when included--whether it's hanging out with other dogs or spending time with his people. Bowie is easy going, calm and adaptable. Bowie's favorite things include walks & car rides: Just don't say the words unless you're ready--his little feet will start tippy tapping in excitement! Belly rubs are Bowie's ultimate love language and while not overly food motivated, he enjoys snacks and knows how to sit and stay. The best thing about Bowie is simple, he's just happy to be included. His cheerful spirit, gentle nature, and love for companionship make him the perfect addition to any family!! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Bowie is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRMMay 9, 2026, 12:08 am

Story
Dear Future Valentine, Hi. My name is Lulu, and I wanted to let you know… I’m kind of the whole package. 💃 I’m a Border Collie mix with a brave heart. I'm super smart and loyal. I love adventure...long walks, running around the yard, chasing squirrels (they’re suspicious), and going for car rides. I’m playful and agile, but I also know how to relax and enjoy quiet time at home. 🏠 I already have my manners down. I’m crate-trained, housebroken, walk nicely on leash, and know my basic commands. I’m respectful with other dogs at mealtime, friendly with dogs, gentle with cats, and great with kids. Basically, I’m pretty easy to love. 😍 I enjoy affection, but I’m not clingy...I love just being near you, checking in, sharing space, and knowing we’re a team. I’ll protect our yard, keep an eye on things, and still curl up contentedly after a good day of play and exploration. 😴 My perfect Valentine has a sense of adventure too - maybe other dogs to play with, a yard to run in, or someone who loves walks and outings as much as I do. Give me activity, companionship, and love, and I’ll give you loyalty, laughter, and my whole heart. 💞 My foster family says I’m “perfect.” I think they might be right — and I think I might be perfect for you. Love, Lulu 🐾 ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Story
This boy should be on the big screen with his wonderfully unique markings! Young and energetic, Domino is approximately one year old, tiny at 19 lbs, neutered, vaccinated, and healthy. He is always ready to play, run, and jump. He loves to go on walks and is learning behavior cues from his gentle leader, but he still has a little work to do when he sees other dogs. Domino is a vocal dog; he sings the song of his people with growls, howls, and barks! He does not like to be left alone for too long. Maybe he has a future career on American Idol? He will be your velcro dog and snuggle with you while you sleep, watch TV, or work. He is learning how to use his off switch and is crate trained. His foster family is also working through basic commands like sit and stay, and Domino will just need continued reinforcement. Domino would thrive in a home where he would get a lot of attention, be the only dog, and would be best for older children. He does get along with other dogs well, but he would need a dog to match his puppy energy. Domino is best fed away from his furry friends. Also, Domino like to play outside and will need a solid and secure fence as any open fence would allow him to fit through. He is a Houdini; smart, agile, curious, and ready to GO!

Story
Olive - Female - 1.5 yrs old - 40 lbs Meet Olive (or Olive Oil) — a playful, affectionate pup with a heart full of love and a personality that keeps things exciting. She is 1.5 years old, healthy, spayed, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Olive is still very much in her fun-loving, curious stage. She absolutely thrives with canine companionship and would do best in a home with another dog. Her bond with her dog sibling has helped her build confidence, and she looks to her furry friends for comfort, play, and guidance. Olive’s hobbies include playing with toys, conducting very serious bug investigations…which sometimes end in snacks. She brings a steady stream of entertainment wherever she goes and has a knack for making ordinary moments feel a lot more fun. She’s reliably house trained and crate trained, so she already has the important stuff down. Olive is currently working on commands like “sit,” and while she’s getting there, she sometimes gets a little too excited about life to remember her manners—especially on walks. Other dogs? People? Potential new best friends? Amazing!! She’ll just need some continued guidance to help channel that enthusiasm into polite greetings. The car can be a bit spooky for Olive, but she’s much braver when she has her dog sibling by her side—moral support is everything. With patience and encouragement, she’s gaining confidence more every day. Olive is looking for a home that will embrace her playful spirit, continue her training, and give her the companionship she truly needs. In return, she promises plenty of laughs, unconditional love, and possibly fewer bugs in your yard. Please apply to adopt at bcrrt.com.

Story
Sydney is a 3 year old, 30 pound, spayed, healthy, athletic, SMART, fun Mini Aussie/Border Collie mix (with a few other herding breeds thrown in). She will bring a tennis ball to you many times a day to ensure your throwing arm stays in superior shape! She will follow you everywhere, make sure you know when it’s meal time, and, though comfortable sleeping through the night in a crate, enjoys the foot of your bed even more. Sydney’s best life will be as an only dog and she brings enough fun that you don’t even need another dog to keep you laughing and enjoying her sparkle. She is best in a home with no young children or small animals (that herding instinct is strong!). A large yard, big enough for long throw tennis ball fetch, frisbee, or even some agility equipment would be perfect for her. She has no experience with a pool, but odds are she would love that, too! Treat motivated, she loves to learn (currently learning to pick up her balls and toys, and place them where indicated, with a “Tidy Up” cue). Want a trick dog or pup eager to learn how to be your best companion? She’s your girl! Apply to adopt at bcrrt.com

Story
Millie is a sweet, smart, and bubbly girl who's ready to bring joy to her forever home. She loves walks, hikes, and proudly carrying her favorite orange rubber "wishbone" toy. Millie knows several commands -- sit, down, place, and heel -- and she'll happily show off her skills for her people. This vocal girl isn't shy about telling you when she needs to go out or when she's ready for attention. At home, she's easygoing: after 10-15 minutes of play, Millie is content to lounge and relax. She's house trained, kennel trained, and e-collar trained, making her a well-mannered companion. Millie thrives as the only pet and would do best in a home without young children. She enjoys snuggling when she's in the mood and will reward her people with love, laughter, and loyalty. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
Looking to rehome a 3 year old Australian Shepherd mix named Shango. He’s a sweet, affectionate dog who settles well indoors and enjoys walks, sniffing, and enrichment activities. He is crate trained neutered, and was recently adopted from Denton Animal Services. He would do best with someone who has the time, stability, and environment to continue working with him, especially around leash reactivity/excitement outdoors. Indoors, he has been calm and able to settle throughout the day.Unfortunately, due to an abrupt change in my financial and transportation situation, I realized I’m not in the right position to give him the long-term stability and attention he deserves. I’m looking for a responsible home that understands active/herding-type dogs and can provide consistency and care. I will provide his paperwork, supplies, and any remaining food/toys.

Story
Blue is an Aussie mix, he is very social and loves to play, Blue needs an active owner and a yard, with a fence, not suited for apartment Blue is very energetic, he likes other dogs but plays rough. He would need to be paired with a patient dog who can put up with his immature behavior, he doesn't always read cues to stop playing. His potty training has progressed significantly but he does still have accidents in the kennel occasionally. His personality is super loving and sweet, but he is mischievous and likes to be the life of the party and is still very much a puppy. Blue push boundaries and see how much he can get away with so he will need a strong leader. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meetMay 9, 2026, 12:08 am
