Story
Quarantine up 5/21/2026 Meet Radar! Radar is a handsome two-year-old Border Collie weighing about 33 pounds who came to us from the Weslaco shelter in deep South Texas and is currently located in Hondo, Texas. Radar is playful, fun, and incredibly smart. He loves people, gets along great with other dogs, and has the energetic, eager-to-please personality Border Collies are known for. Border Collies are highly intelligent working dogs, and as I always say—they need a job. If you don’t give them one, they’ll find their own! Because of his intelligence and energy level, Radar would thrive with structure, enrichment, and continued training. He’s an amazing dog looking for an active home that will appreciate both his brains and his heart. If you already have another dog in your home and would like to see Radar interacting with other dogs, feel free to reach out to us for additional videos. If you would like to add this cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Services our dogs receive prior to adoption: • Chagas Testing • Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate) • All age appropriate vaccines • Heartworm and flea and tick preventatives • Spay and neuter surgery • Microchip The age, breed or breeds listed are a best guess and based on the dog’s physical appearance. Whether you’re adopting from Tracy’s Paws or another group in the south, please familiarize yourself with Chagas Disease…It’s more prevalent than HW disease. Story
Missy’s journey is one of hope and second chances. She was rescued from animal care services just before facing the potential heartbreaking fate of euthanasia. Thankfully, her devoted foster caregiver saw the spark in Missy and welcomed her into their home while Missy was in the care of ACS. With endless love and encouragement, they shared Missy’s incredible story on social media, capturing the hearts of many along the way. Now, let’s dive into some fun facts about this sweet girl! Missy arrived at Animal Care Services as a stray, which means we don’t know much about her past. But what we do know is enough to make anyone fall in love with her! Cuddling is definitely her love language! She adores snuggling up with her humans, making every moment spent together feel warm and special. Missy is house-trained, so she’s all set to be a perfect indoor companion. And let’s talk about treats… this girl is a serious connoisseur! Whether it’s a crunchy biscuit or a tasty chew, she’s always ready for snack time. Her previous foster really gave her a chance to shine, showering her with love and showing off her charming personality. Now, with her heart full of hope and a tail that wags with excitement, Missy is ready to find her forever home. She dreams of meeting her perfect family—one that will embrace her cuddly spirit and spoil her with all the treats she can handle. If you think Missy just might be the girl for you, submit your application today! Watch my video!

Story
The morning songbird is ready for an encore! They say you can’t keep a good bird down, and Lark is proof! This handsome boy was actually born right here at our office as part of Blackbird's litter. While he recently took a little trip to a home, he found his way back to us because his original owners realized they weren't quite ready for the whirlwind of fun that comes with a puppy. True to his name, Lark wakes up every single day with a song in his heart. If you’re looking for a reason to become a morning person, Lark’s wagging tail and sunny disposition are the perfect alarm clock. Being a Border Collie mix, Lark is an athlete in a furry package. Border Collies were bred to herd sheep across vast hills, so "low energy" isn't in his vocabulary! He is playful, brilliant, and thrives when he has a job to do—whether that’s mastering a new trick, hitting the hiking trails, or playing an epic game of fetch. Lark isn't just looking for a house; he’s looking for a partner-in-crime who can keep up with his smarts and his spirit. If you have a lifestyle that matches his "let's go!" energy, this pup is ready to fly home with you. Ready to start your mornings with a song? Apply to adopt Lark today! Watch my video!

Story
Cowgirl is our sweet southern belle with a heart as big as Texas itself. This 5-year-old Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mix has been through quite the journey. She arrived at SNIPSA with her rodeo of puppies, who have since all found their forever homes. Unbeknownst to us, Cowgirl was in heart failure. At first, we thought it simply might be related to her heartworm disease, and later discovered, after a series of diagnostics, that she was simply born with a crummy heart. We consulted with a cardiologist and developed a medical plan where she is being managed with medication and diuretics, and thanks to her caring foster mom, she’s doing wonderfully! In fact, she is doing so well, she has grown into her girlish figure and lives for zoomies in the backyard. She has a hearty appetite and enjoys spending time with the other resident foster dog. She has developed quite the relationship with her foster mom and follows her everywhere. Cowgirl is great with children, other dogs, and doesn’t even mind the resident cat. She may sneak a French Fry, but we aren’t getting worked up. We are just so happy she is feeling so much better!! While we understand most potential adopters will overlook this sunshiny girl, we are hanging onto hope that someone sees the hope. She may have two years or five years, we don’t have that guarantee. But we will do everything we can to ensure her care, quality of life, and hope that there is an adopter out there that sees her beauty.

Story
Meet Chavi the tripod! Chavi is a 2 year old border collie/lab mix. She was a street rescue that had a broken front leg, heartworms AND a litter of 8 newborn puppies. Chavi was very shy when she first arrived. It took weeks for her to trust anyone. During this time Chavi was never aggressive, just very scared. But, this resilient and brave girl allowed us to help her through weaning her puppies and help her heal from her front leg amputation. Chavi is now heartworm NEGATIVE, she loves having other dog friends, and she is cat friendly. Chavi would need an experienced adopter or an adopter that understands trust must be earned. Her whole life was running from bad people, now that she is comfortable, every so often she will come up for a head pat, but always on her terms. Chavi is a house-cat of a dog! Chavi is leash trained and potty trained. She would do best in a calm home with another pet! Reach out to learn more.

Story
Meet Kai: Your Loyal, Independent Companion! Kai is a 6-year-old mutt, a mix of brindle mountain cur and Australian shepherd. With moderate energy, she loves attention and affection but is also perfectly content doing her own thing. She gets excited when meeting new people or seeing her owner after a break, and she has a tendency to jump in her excitement, so she would benefit from some training to manage her enthusiasm.Kai is food motivated, loves sniffing around, and enjoys digging, so scent games are a great way to keep her entertained. While she’s not into fetch or tug-of-war, she’ll happily accept belly rubs and kisses. She also loves short walks, & does great on a leash. Her prey drive means she’s not good with small pets, but she’s calm around loud noises & bangs. She could be trained for treeing hunts. She also has no problem in a kennel, and can be left for work if needed. If you're looking for a calm, loving companion who will be loyal and affectionate, Kai is the one for you.
