Story
Meet Pinta, a sweet, gentle girl who may be nervous at first, but once she knows she’s safe, she has SO much love to give! Pinta can be frightened by the hustle and bustle of the shelter, especially when she hears other dogs barking. She may freeze or need a little encouragement, but outside she quickly relaxes and shows her true personality.Pinta is a professional hug-giver, so adopters should be prepared for some enthusiastic affection! Because she may jump up to give her hugs, she may do best in a home without very small children. She’s looking for someone patient who will give her time to settle in and build confidence in a quieter environment.

Story
Lucky was picked up on the side of the road after almost being hit by a car.  This poor baby is maybe 8 weeks old and has a horrible “old” scar running down his back from a previous injury. It looks like he was scalped, and there may be damage to his spine. The hair is just now starting to grow back. He was covered in fleas and ticks, has a UTI, worms and parasites, and even has a chunk missing from his ear.   A nasty rusty kennel was found in the brush just steps from where he ran into the road.  Lucky was pretty sick when he came it, but he's really turned around!  He's been dewormed, had his 1st puppy shots and will be completely checked out this week by the vet.  To apply for Lucky:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57447/generic ##2820619##

Story
Here’s Apollo’s updated bio with a stronger emotional pull: Meet Apollo — Still Waiting for His Turn Apollo is now 1 year old, and while he has watched so many of his friends leave for their forever homes, he is still waiting. He watches them go, one by one, and he simply doesn’t understand why no one has chosen him yet. Apollo is a happy, energetic boy who is absolutely full of life. He loves to play, explore, learn, and be part of everything happening around him. He has so much love to give and is ready for a family who will include him in their adventures and help him continue becoming the incredible dog we already know he is. Behind all that energy is a sweet boy who just wants to belong. Apollo has waited long enough. He deserves to know what it feels like to be the one packing his bags, saying goodbye, and heading home. Please don’t let Apollo watch another friend leave without him. Could you be the family he has been waiting for? visit www.pawsinprisontx.org ##2579831##

Story
Millie was a stray on the streets of Houston. She was buddy with another dog and both dogs came to me for fostering and medical.care. She has fit right in with our other 9 dogs and enjoys rough housing. We are working on her chewing on hands, but being a five month old puppy she is still full of puppy play. She's very easy to train, walks well on a leash. She sits and places. Because of her puppy antics only older kids are suggested. This is a breed that does well with an active lifestyle and wants to be a part of family activities. It's hard to get a good still picture of her.

Story
Jinx is a 10 month old Border Collie mix and is the sweetest little girl you could ever meet. Jinx was unfortunately thrown out of a car when she was a puppy and came to me after being found on the side of the road. I genuinely wanted to keep her but unfortunately my older Husky has been picking fights with her and is causing her a lot of stress. She gets overstimulated very easily and needs a home with patient, loving owners that will take the time to work with her. She still sometimes has accidents but I think that is mostly due to fear from my other dog bullying her. She is crate trained and good with cats and I think would be great with older kids. She is not at all aggressive, but she does have trouble with jumping up on people. I absolutely adore this girl and am fully committed to finding the right fit for her💕
