Story
Clarabelle is a tiny 5-pound terrier mix (possibly with a little dachshund mixed in) who is just beginning to discover the world around her. She’s a sweet, gentle puppy who can be a little shy at first, especially with adults, but her curiosity always wins out. She’s currently being fostered with children and other dogs and is doing great. She loves playing with her foster family’s daughter, is interested in the resident dogs, and is already showing signs of understanding how to use a pee pad. She’s also surprisingly content for such a young puppy and doesn’t bark for attention. Clarabelle came to us a little scared, but she greets life with the cutest tail wag and a desire to explore. As she gains confidence, her playful and affectionate personality continues to shine. Clarabelle is expected to be ready for adoption around June 25, when she reaches 8 weeks of age. We are currently accepting pre-adoption applications.

Story
Archie is a 10-month-old Terrier mix with a scruffy white-and-tan coat, a playful spirit, and enough personality to keep you smiling all day long. At just 15 pounds, he's the perfect size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between. Like any puppy, Archie approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity. His personality has really started to blossom in foster care, and he's becoming more confident and adventurous every day. Walks have become his favorite opportunity to explore the world, sniff every interesting scent, and investigate new sights and sounds. He's a spunky little guy with a zest for life and a playful energy that's impossible not to love. Archie is a toy enthusiast and would happily spend all day playing. Tug-of-war, fetch, stuffed animals—you name it, he's ready for it. He'll even entertain himself when needed, happily tossing around his favorite toys. Because he's still very much a puppy, his future family should be prepared to continue teaching him all the important puppy dos and don'ts. The good news? Archie is smart and eager to learn. He's already made impressive progress with house training and crate training, picking up both skills quickly. Archie enjoys going for walks, though he's convinced the leash would work much better if he carried it himself! A little leash-manners training will go a long way, and he's the kind of dog who will thrive with consistency and positive reinforcement. Archie gets along well with other dogs and would likely love having a canine sibling to help burn off some of his puppy energy. He's also good with kids and enjoys being part of the action. While he's curious about squirrels and birds, he doesn't show a strong prey drive and is generally more interested in exploring than chasing. One of Archie's most endearing qualities is how devoted he is to his people. He's a total love bug who likes to keep an eye on his foster family and happily follows them from room to room. Despite all his playful energy, he also knows how to settle down and relax—whether that's lounging at home or quietly hanging out at a coffee shop. Big noises can occasionally startle him, but overall Archie is a confident, resilient little dog who bounces back quickly and is eager to experience everything life has to offer. Archie is up to date on his vaccinations, will be neutered prior to adoption, and is ready to find an active family who will embrace his playful spirit and help him grow into the amazing adult dog he's destined to be. If you're looking for a fun-loving sidekick, adventure buddy, and devoted best friend all wrapped into one adorable scruffy package, Archie might just be your perfect match.

Story
Stuart is a love bug through and through. The kind of dog who picks a person and devotes himself to them completely. Get ready to have a shadow, because once Stuart decides you’re his, he’ll happily follow you from room to room just to be near you. He shows his affection in the sweetest ways: gentle licks, plenty of cuddles, and the occasional well-timed boop of his nose to let you know the petting shouldn’t stop just yet. If you’re looking for a dog who genuinely wants to be your sidekick, Stuart is your guy. Stuart loves being outside, and walks are one of his favorite things in the world. Even better, he’s a star on the leash—no tangled messes or tug-of-war here, just an easygoing buddy ready to explore alongside you. He’s also friendly with other dogs and would do well with a canine sibling. When it comes to playtime, Stuart is all about fetch, especially with smaller toys that squeak or crinkle. He’s a smart, eager learner, too. In the short time he’s been in foster care, he’s already picked up “sit” like a pro, which tells us he’ll thrive with continued training and positive reinforcement. He’s also doing wonderfully with crate training. In fact, he chooses to sleep in his crate at night with the door open. Stuart does experience some anxiety when left alone, so he’ll do best with a family who can help him build confidence and ease into alone time gradually. One small, endearing quirk: Stuart isn’t especially food-motivated, but he’s discovered a soft spot for cheese-flavored soft treats and freeze-dried chicken. The perfect rewards for a pup who’s a little picky but always eager to please. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who’s smart, sweet, and ready to be your constant sidekick, Stuart might just be your perfect match.

Story
The most precious puppy....Meet Timo! Little Timo is an approx 4 month old/ 9lb, male, Border Terrier/Chihuahua puppy that came into our rescue with 3 of his siblings when they were found abandoned in a box in the middle of a remote orchard. Thankfully, a kind woman got them to safety and reached out to us to see if we could take them into our foundation, and we said yes! We are looking for a home for our puppies that has another young and playful dog or they could be adopted with one of their siblings. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal along with a safe and secure backyard. Timo is a sweet puppy with lots of fun energy that deserves the best forever home out there! Timo is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered at the appropriate age. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 We only adopt in So Calif as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.
