Story
SEE ALL OF OUR AVAILABLE DOGS ON OUR WEBSITE: www.tracyspawsrescue.org Meet Shiner! Shiner is an adorable 22-pound 1-2 yr old Boston Terrier mix who was found roaming the streets of San Antonio, Texas. He had no collar, no tags, was not neutered, and no one appeared to be looking for him. We simply cannot understand why because he is one of the nicest little boys! At only about a year or two old, Shiner gets along beautifully with both male and female dogs and loves people. He can be a little shy when he first meets someone, but that lasts about 10 minutes. Once he feels comfortable, he is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and loving with everyone he meets. Shiner is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to Geneva, IL on October 17th with approved application and confirmed adoption. His adoption fee is $450. The fee includes transport cost. ❤️If you’d like to make this sweet dog part of your family, please review our adoption process and complete an application here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heart worm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heart worm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular De-worming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip Breed and age listings are our best guess, based on appearance. Whether you're adopting from us or anywhere in the southern states, please familiarize yourself with Chagas disease. It's endemic in the south. Anderson Humane is not responsible for any unsuccessful adoptions. To know Nina is to love Nina! She is the sweetest gal, she loves love! Nina has been with us for 5 years and is a ball of love! Nina has many wonderful qualities, I believe she would thrive better in a home that she will receive all the time and attention that she deserves. She is approximately 5 years old, spayed, house trained. She is loving, affectionate with people, and enjoys walks, cuddles, car rides, etc. Nina has lived with a small dog and cat; however we feel with an experienced adopter she may be open to gain more social skills with other furfriends. She has some anxiety and would love a solo owner but under the right circumstance and being well managed; we think she can flourish! We would prefer a family that is an experienced dog owner. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to continue providing the environment she requires, which is why I am reaching out for assistance. I want to ensure she has the best possible chance at a safe and happy life.

Story
Mona has arrived back with Day of the Dogs through no fault of her own. She was dearly loved by a senior gentleman, who due to health reasons could not keep Mona with him any longer. Mona had been a faithful companion for years, being treated as the princess she feels she should be....and we would agree. Mona is hoping for a quick transition to her next family, where she can take her place by her favorite person's side. Mona is doing her best to adjust to her loss, and is showing more interest in her new canine friends, but she very clearly would rather have a human connection. Mona has been pretty quiet, and is used to a quieter environment, but she does get excited on her walks. Like most dogs, she loves to explore the world on a walk. Mona can have a canine sibling, she gets along with her new pack of girlfriends, but would do best with an easy, laid back, or happy go lucky dog. She will play with her friends, but does not appreciate any excessive bossy behavior, or excessive crowding when she needs space. She feels respect is important from other dogs! Mona is move in ready, she is just waiting for her next home. Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 5 yrs old and she weighs close to 40lbs. She is currently in a foster home in Rolling Prairie, IN Adoption Process: - Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application - One of our team members will get back to you via phone. - Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding - Adoption fee helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip. -We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available. About Day of the Dogs Day of the Dogs is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping shelter and rescue dogs find safety, families, and second chances. Founded in 2015 after we witnessed firsthand the devastating shelter overcrowding crisis facing southern communities, where some shelters have only days to find an outcome for homeless pets. Today, Day of the Dogs coordinates life-saving transports from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and other southern areas to rescue partners, shelters, fosters, and adopters in Northwest Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City region — communities where adoption demand can help create better outcomes for pets in need. We also focus on long stay dogs in the Greater Kansas City and surrounding rural areas to help those pets get out of kennels and into homes. We also facilitate direct adoptions through our foster networks in both Kansas City and Northwest Indiana and partner with shelters and rescue organizations across Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, and Indiana to save more lives together. Because every open foster home creates another opportunity to save a dog, we are always looking for foster families to join our mission. Day of the Dogs operates entirely on donations. Every transport, veterinary appointment, supply purchase, and life saved is possible because of supporters who believe every dog deserves a chance. Donate or learn more: www.dayofthedogs.org

Story
🐷💕 Welcome Miss Piggy! 💕🐷 Sometimes all it takes is the right person seeing the right dog at the right moment. Miss Piggy found herself as an unclaimed stray at a facility that was running dangerously low on both time and space. As kennel populations climbed, her situation became increasingly urgent. When we learned about this spotted little cow of a girl, we knew we had to try to help. And just like that, the universe did its thing. A foster stepped up and said “yes” to the adorable black-and-white meatball who was running out of options. No shelter dog should have their future determined by a lack of kennel space, and thanks to her foster, Miss Piggy’s story is headed in a much different direction. We have a feeling this chunky little moo cow is going to fit right in around here. All good things from here!
