Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Apple Pie! I’m 6 months old, and I’m already trying out for best boy ever When my fosters first met me, I was the very first one to crawl over for cuddles and start handing out sweet puppy kisses—like free samples at Costco! With my soft fur, squishy little face, and loving personality, I’m pretty hard to resist. I’m not just cute—I’m smart, too! On walks, I’ve been very well behaved, and I’m practicing commands like sit, stay, and come like a little overachiever. (I might even remind you about homework ) I’m still working on potty training and getting used to foster life, but I’m trying my very best. In my crate, I’m a perfect gentleman—no mess, no destruction, just patiently waiting like a good boy. I LOVE to play and romp around, and I’m a really good house guest. One of my favorite things is snuggling—there’s nothing better than pressing into your lap for cuddles. I also love walking around with a bone in my mouth, just happy as can be I have so much love to give—I just need a foster or forever home where I can keep growing into the amazing dog I’m meant to be. ✨ Apply to foster or adopt me at projecthopearf.org ✨  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 18, 2026, 3:55 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.✨ Hi, I’m AllSpice! ✨ I’m growing into a strong, sweet, and very special little lady I’m so happy to be out of a cage and settling into a loving foster home—and I show it every day! If I’m this happy now, just imagine how much I’ll shine when I find my forever family. I’m playful, precious, and full of personality. I might be a little princess , but I also love the idea of chasing squirrels, getting muddy paws, and having all kinds of fun adventures! I’m already learning “sit” and working on my potty training now that I’m getting comfortable—and guess what? I’m super smart! I pick up commands really fast and love to keep going… especially if treats are involved My foster says I’m the smartest pup they’ve had, and I just want to keep learning and making you proud. I’m such a sweet, happy girl, and I know I’m going to make one very lucky family so incredibly happy. Could that be you? Story
Meet Ian – Your Slightly Wonky, Totally Wonderful Adventure Buddy If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain… Ian might just be your perfect match. This little Boston Terrier mix lives life full throttle—zooming through the yard like he’s racing in the Indy 500, making pit stops in imaginary swamps with Shrek, and embracing every muddy, joy-filled moment along the way (bonus points if you don’t mind getting a little dirty with him). Ian is a young, playful pup with a heart as big as his personality. He came into rescue with a shattered hip that has since healed, leaving him with an adorable “wonky” gait. When he runs, his back leg sometimes flails out to the side—but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. If anything, it just makes him even more unforgettable. Personality & Play Style: Ian is a social, toy-loving goofball who thrives on fun. He always has a toy in his mouth—seriously, always. He’ll take them outside, bring them back in, and politely “check” them at the door until you hand them back. He loves playing with other dogs, especially games of chase and keep-away. After playtime, Ian enjoys winding down with his favorite toy and appreciates a little personal space during his chill time. Because of this, he’d do best with a laid-back, respectful dog companion—especially one around his size or slightly smaller who won’t bother him when he’s relaxing. Snuggles Included: Once the zoomies are out, Ian is all about couch time. He’ll curl up beside you, toy in tow, and drift off while you watch TV. The perfect mix of playful and snuggly. Communication Style (aka his signature move): Ian has the best voice—a raspy, screechy, baby pterodactyl sound that he proudly uses to let you know when he’s ready to come out of his crate or needs a potty break. It’s hilarious, endearing, and very effective. He’ll also quietly go sit by the door, so keep an eye out—he’s a good boy who just needs you to notice his polite signals. Mealtime & Care: Ian is an enthusiastic foodie, so he uses a slow feeder bowl to keep mealtime safe and comfortable. Medical Transparency: Due to his past injury, Ian has diabetes insipidus. The good news: • No injections required • Managed with oral medication twice daily • Just needs a few extra potty breaks His condition is well-managed, and he’s living a happy, active, zoomie-filled life. The Perfect Home for Ian: • An active home that enjoys play, laughter, and a little chaos • A consistent adopter who can manage his simple medical routine • A respectful dog companion—or he’d love being your one and only • Someone who appreciates a quirky, lovable personality Ian isn’t just a dog—he’s an experience. He’ll make you laugh daily, keep life interesting, and then curl up next to you like he’s always belonged there. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

AVAILABLE SOON! I haven’t arrived at the adoption center just yet - I’m getting ready for adoption! Please fill out an adoption application if you’d like to meet me once I’m available. Born: July 23, 2025 I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $500 Konner is a super sweet, playful, and spunky puppy who absolutely loves other dogs. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but give him a little time and you’ll see him blossom into an incredibly loving and affectionate boy. Konner has been diagnosed with suspected inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and is currently doing well with treatment. He will likely need to remain on a low dose of prednisone long-term to help manage his condition and keep him feeling his best. With proper care and consistency, dogs with IBD can live happy, comfortable lives—and Konner is no exception. He would do best in a home that can provide a stable routine, monitor his condition, and work closely with his veterinarian. In return, Konner will reward his family with endless love, companionship, and his fun, playful personality. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon! Story
**CHEDDAR IS ADOPTED!**Pal's Place has three of the sweetest, most adorable, and lovable little nuggets in town, all looking for loving forever families. These precious little guys were rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky and are now in a loving foster home in Chicago, waiting to meet their forever families. Their mother is a purebred Boston Terrier; their father is unknown, but the family that surrendered the puppies mentioned a neighbor's Cattledog mix was the suspected father. The puppies were born the second week in January, and at 3 months old (4/5), they weigh between 8 and 10 pounds. Given their current age and size, we expect a mature size of roughly 35 pounds- a fantastic medium size! All three puppies are curious, energetic, social, and happy, making great companions for active families who have the time and patience to raise, train, socialize, and exercise them. Puppies are undoubtedly adorable and fun, but require a great deal of time and attention during their first several months. Please remember that puppies this age need frequent potty breaks (every 3-4 hours or so) and lots of playtime, engagement, and mental stimulation throughout the day, so please consider if you truly have the time for a puppy before applying. The adoption fee to the rescue is $475 per puppy. They are neutered, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and are started on flea and heartworm preventatives. • The cheese litter is fostered in Chicago, and meetings can be scheduled by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. The adoption fee per puppy to the rescue is $475. This fee helps to cover their neuterings, initial vaccines, microchips, and other care needs. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. We respond to inquiries, questions, and applications by email. We are a volunteer-run organization and strive to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours, though we may occasionally take longer. Correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are awaiting a reply, please check those folders regularly.
