This is a story that will tug at your heart. Hi. It’s me. Ava. Yes, I have the little squishy pug face. Yes, I am a middle aged lady. Yes, I am soft in every possible way. They found me wandering around Calumet City. Just out there. Alone. I am a tiny girl and the world is big. Bigger when you cannot see it very well. We think I am blind. Or close to it. What I know for sure is that I navigate with my heart. The shelter was not the place for a girl like me. Too loud. Too fast. Too much. The rescue stepped in because no one wanted me trying to survive like that. I am not a high-maintenance diva. I am a calm, docile, snuggly little lady. I move slowly. I listen carefully. I memorize the shape of a room. Once I learn it, I am good. I will toddle around like I own the place. What I really want is a person. Someone patient. Someone steady. Someone kind. Someone who does not mind being my eyes. I will follow your voice. I will lean into your legs. I will curl into you like I have known you forever. I am the kind of dog who bonds deep. Not flashy. Not chaotic. Just loyal. Devoted. Yours. If your home is quiet and your heart is open, I think we might fit together perfectly. I am probably fine with dogs, cats and kids, but since I want a quiet home, I am going to try to be your solo love bug for now. Is that okay? Come be my world. I promise I will make you mine. Update - 03/19/2026:She is an attention seeker. She hears a voice and she jumps up to find you. LOVES FOOD. she does not like it if you take too long to get her bowl ready. She has started doing a low grumbling bark when she thinks your taking to long. Loves to cuddle and be close to her people. Can this girl get any cuter?We can't imagine what she went through when she faced uncertainty and is blind. Our hearts broke. We had to keep her safe and give her a chance at finding a loving home. Lola's 76 year old owner has been moved into Assisted Living where they don't allow pets. Lola is a calm, sedate dog who loves to look out the window, cuddle and give LOTS OF KISSES ! Lola was brought from Kentucky by Mobile- Mutt Rescue after giving birth to 9 puppies 5 years ago. She loves meeting new people more than new dogs. Lola loves her doggie snacks and frequent walks. She's primarily been housed with seniors, but should do fine with children. Available in the next 7-10 days. Must be re-homed before July 1st.

ALL SKYE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS IS A FAMILY 💔🐾🎄 Skye has been waiting sonce October 2023 for a second chance…. Shes been waiting patiently this whole time for a forever home. This special girl needs to get out of the kennels. She’s been here WAY too long. Skye was abandoned by her owners in our parking lot as a very emaciated scared girl. Thats ok though we made sure to shower her with love and got her feeling MUCH better!!! Skye is a very good girl and tested well with other dogs! Unfortunately she does resource guard so if adopted out through us she would need to be the only pet in the house. If pulled by a rescue and placed with a foster who had experience with resource guarding, she could potentially live with another dog! Duff is an interesting character. Currently 3 years old, he came from a litter of very friendly little pups, but for some reason, Duff didn't inherit the bubbly personality gene. He is reserved, to say the least, but he has come a long way. He enjoys being petted and is excited when you return home. He just isn't to the point yet of running right up to you to get love. When he is on his bed he waits for you to pet him or put him on a leash. He loves taking walks, has fun playing with other small dogs, and could care less about cats. Kids would probably be too much for him. This is a very special boy who wants love and is getting better about accepting love. He is quiet, doesn't jump up on furniture, and sleeps through the night. He is potty pad trained. Perhaps a doggy door leading to a fenced in yard would encourage his outdoor pottying. He is requesting a patient person who will love him unconditionally no matter what his quirks are.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN.
