Looking for a little dog with a whole lot of heart? Meet Ian! Ian is a 1.5-year-old black and white sweetheart who proves every day that a rough start does not define your future. This pint-sized boy previously suffered a hip injury, which has healed beautifully, and his happy, playful spirit never missed a beat. Ian is fun, boisterous, and full of contagious joy. He loves attention, enjoys romping around with his toys, and is always ready for a cuddle when playtime winds down. He does well with other dogs and would make a wonderful addition to a home with canine friends. Ian also loves his food and is happily not picky. He eats from a slow-feeder bowl to help him enjoy his meals at a healthy pace and aid digestion. Medical Transparency (the important but reassuring part): Ian has Diabetes Insipidus, which is not the same as diabetes mellitus. This condition affects how his body concentrates urine and has nothing to do with blood sugar. • Oral medication only — no shots or injections • Takes medication twice daily to maintain healthy urine concentration and support full bladder emptying • Medication may be lifelong or temporary, depending on future veterinary guidance • Medication cost can vary depending on the veterinarian or pharmacy • Needs frequent potty breaks Ian does wonderfully on his routine and is otherwise a happy, active, affectionate young dog. **CHEDDAR IS ADOPTED!**Pal's Place has three of the sweetest, most adorable, and lovable little nuggets in town, all looking for loving forever families. These precious little guys were rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky and are now in a loving foster home in Chicago, waiting to meet their forever families. Their mother is a purebred Boston Terrier; their father is unknown, but the family that surrendered the puppies mentioned a neighbor's Cattledog mix was the suspected father. The puppies were born the second week in January, and at 3 months old (4/5), they weigh between 8 and 10 pounds. Given their current age and size, we expect a mature size of roughly 35 pounds- a fantastic medium size! All three puppies are curious, energetic, social, and happy, making great companions for active families who have the time and patience to raise, train, socialize, and exercise them. Puppies are undoubtedly adorable and fun, but require a great deal of time and attention during their first several months. Please remember that puppies this age need frequent potty breaks (every 3-4 hours or so) and lots of playtime, engagement, and mental stimulation throughout the day, so please consider if you truly have the time for a puppy before applying. The adoption fee to the rescue is $475 per puppy. They are neutered, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and are started on flea and heartworm preventatives. • The cheese litter is fostered in Chicago, and meetings can be scheduled by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. The adoption fee per puppy to the rescue is $475. This fee helps to cover their neuterings, initial vaccines, microchips, and other care needs. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. We respond to inquiries, questions, and applications by email. We are a volunteer-run organization and strive to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours, though we may occasionally take longer.
