Story
CANNOLI Female Boston Terrier 3-4 years old 20 pounds No known health issues Good with people Not recommended with other animals Needs to be an only pet Good for city living: undecided Cannoli is an energetic, fun-loving girl who is still getting to know what it means to live outside of a puppy mill. She is adapting to life indoors but still has some learning to do and needs training. Cannoli has discovered toys and loves to eat. She was used for breeding and given up for being a "bad mom." Likely because she is not trustworthy near other animals and has a high prey drive. Cannoli is going to thrive with a well-matched adopter who can give her all of the love and attention! To apply to adopt: www.findingshelter.org. Local adoptions only within 30 miles of King of Prussia, PA

Story
"Hello there, I am Stellaluna, like the little bat in the story book. My foster mom calls me Estelle, or Stellie, Stell. Or Stellaloonie when I'm being silly! Names don't matter to me as long as you snuggle with me! All I want from life is a soft couch, yummy food, and a warm lap. I love to be held, petted, and give LOTS of kisses. I would love to sleep in the big bed! I take naps with my foster mom and it's wonderful! I like to go for walks, chew on soft toys, and EAT FOOD! I am living my best life since I came to Zoe's and I bet you can make it even better!" Stella was surrendered from a commercial breeder. She came to us underweight and desperate for love and attention. She also had four mammary tumors that required a quadruple mastectomy, and a hernia repair. Despite the tumors and crappy health, within weeks of being with her foster family she was up to a healthy weight. Stella is good with dogs, cats, and small animals. She would be great for a family with or without children! She is very puppy-like in her mannerisms and has been an absolute joy in her foster home. Stella is housebroken, but accidents are normal in a new environment. She does not have accidents in her foster home as long as she gets outside to potty regularly. She does not require a fenced yard, however if you do not have a fence she will need to be on a leash. Stella is used to a crate, and stays there when her foster mom leaves the house, or at night. She loves her cozy bed. She is quiet, and does not bark or fuss in her crate, until her foster mom comes home and then she gets excited and will yell to greet her. Stellaluna is spayed, had dental work removing decayed molars, had her tumors removed, a hernia repaired, has been microchipped, vaccinated, and tested negative for Heartworm. Stella has also been treated for a tick borne disease and parasites. She has been given a clean bill of health and ready to find her forever home. In addition to good nutrition Stella's foster mom has been giving her salmon oil and joint supplements. It would be recommended that she continue these. Stella is being fostered in southern Lancaster county PA, and interested families must be willing to travel to her foster home, and bring along any existing dogs in the home. Ready to meet our Stellaluna? Go online to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application! We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!My name is Taylor.  I came to the ranch when I was 7 weeks old and have been here for almost 2 years.  I have a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected.  I could wear diapers but I absolutely hate them!!  Here at the ranch I do not have to wear a diaper because they mop and steam floors several times a day but I drip and they don't make me feel bad about it :)I may spend my life here but if I do I will be loved and accepted even though I can't hold my bladder :) I love to give kisses and recieve pets!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!April 15, 2024, 12:36 pm

Story
Pawnee was a mother dog who was rescued in the fall of 2022 with her 2 pups on the side of the road. She and the pups were in poor health when rescued. One of her pups died, and we found a home for her other one. She and the pups were starving and full of mange. It was apparent that she had either been dumped or that she left a bad home. She was heartworm positive, and we put her through heartworm treatment. Despite her most unfortunate background, Pawnee was a happy dog with a lot of love to give! While with a foster, she slept in a crate and learned how to go in and out the doggie door. This 25-pound love bug is super sweet and plays well with other dogs. She loves people and children. She is one of the happiest dogs ever, and she loves to give. Pawnee is being cared for in Mississippi at this time but we do transport. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
We welcome the R group. These cuties were turned in to the shelter with no explanation at all. They are all very small and lovable. They are in need of a new family to love them and for them to love. Wouldn't you like to cuddle up on the couch or in your recliner with one of these little cuties curled up on your lap? They will warm you heart. Please consider adopting one of the puppies from this group. You're sure to be loved and cuddled with by them. We also use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We transport every weekend alternating between the Great Lakes and the Northeast.
