Story
"Hello there, I am Stellaluna, like the little bat in the story book. My foster mom calls me Estelle, or Stellie, Stell. Or Stellaloonie when I'm being silly! Names don't matter to me as long as you snuggle with me! All I want from life is a soft couch, yummy food, and a warm lap. I love to be held, petted, and give LOTS of kisses. I would love to sleep in the big bed! I take naps with my foster mom and it's wonderful! I like to go for walks, chew on soft toys, and EAT FOOD! I am living my best life since I came to Zoe's and I bet you can make it even better!"
Stella was surrendered from a commercial breeder. She came to us underweight and desperate for love and attention. She also had four mammary tumors that required a quadruple mastectomy, and a hernia repair. Despite the tumors and crappy health, within weeks of being with her foster family she was up to a healthy weight.
Stella is good with dogs, cats, and small animals. She would be great for a family with or without children! She is very puppy-like in her mannerisms and has been an absolute joy in her foster home.
Stella is housebroken, but accidents are normal in a new environment. She does not have accidents in her foster home as long as she gets outside to potty regularly. She does not require a fenced yard, however if you do not have a fence she will need to be on a leash.
Stella is used to a crate, and stays there when her foster mom leaves the house, or at night. She loves her cozy bed. She is quiet, and does not bark or fuss in her crate, until her foster mom comes home and then she gets excited and will yell to greet her.
Stellaluna is spayed, had dental work removing decayed molars, had her tumors removed, a hernia repaired, has been microchipped, vaccinated, and tested negative for Heartworm. Stella has also been treated for a tick borne disease and parasites. She has been given a clean bill of health and ready to find her forever home.
In addition to good nutrition Stella's foster mom has been giving her salmon oil and joint supplements. It would be recommended that she continue these.
Stella is being fostered in southern Lancaster county PA, and interested families must be willing to travel to her foster home, and bring along any existing dogs in the home.
