Story
ANGIE & SMOOCHIES we're recently retired from a life of breeding on an Amish farm. They are super, super friendly. They love children as the kids were their caretakers. Great with other animals – dogs, cats and are familiar at least with dairy cows and horses. Smoochies And Angie are seven years old - Unrelated, but have lived most of their lives together and are attached. We realize it's difficult one dog who has never lived in a house before and two maybe overwhelming but, if it all possible, we would love to keep these two together. They are not housebroken. They had a bad case of intestinal worms when they came in but now that is under control, they are making some progress. Both have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped And tested negative for heartworm and tick borne diseases. As with most pugs, they have crappy teeth and will need a dental in the future. Adoption $250 for an individual Pug, $400 if you are the angel who can take a pair. Please fill out our adoption application at www.Companimals.org. Pug or puppy mill dog experience a plus. Home visit will be a part of the adoption process. Excellent Vet references a must.November 3, 2024, 10:40 am

Bugsy was surrendered to Angel's Retreat after losing his human. He is understandably a little shy when meeting new humans, but loves to run around the yard at Angel's Retreat and play with his new doggy friends.

Story
If you're looking for a "Velcro dog", look no further! This sweet senior pug named Harper is mostly blind. But don't tell her, because she manages to get around just fine thank you very much! Harper was surrendered to us by her previous owner who had allowed her to wander their farm. As Harper's eyesight slowly worsened, they became concerned and asked us to take her. Surprisingly, the change from the only property she had ever known was remarkably easy. In her foster home, it took Harper about a week to learn her way around and to respond to her foster mom's voice (Remember that childhood game called "Marco Polo"? Well this girl is an expert at finding you by just following your voice.) She happily wears panties to reduce the likelihood of an accident, and has learned to go outside (navigating two steps, thank you very much!) to join the others in a quiet stroll around the yard. Harper is living with other dogs of all sizes as well as cats. She is remarkably tolerant of their exuberance and is happy to watch from a safe distance. It is at snuggling that Harper shines. She is happy to crawl up on your lap or sit by your side and snooze. And don't even think about sleeping in a bed without her! You'll have a friend right next to you, snoring quietly away all night, then asking to be lifted off the bed when it's time to wake up. Harper has been spayed and received a dental including losing many of her teeth. Her fecal and 4dx tests were negative and she is up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. She is on eye drops to keep her eyes lubricated, and those drops will need to continue for the rest of her life. The ideal home for Harper is someone who's looking for a quiet, low maintenance snuggle buddy. Respectful older children would be fine, as would other pets. A fenced in yard is not necessary, although someone will need to keep a close eye on her during her outside wanderings. Harper walks well on a leash and would enjoy a short walk around the neighborhood and the chance to meet others. If you think your household would be a good fit for Harper and you are prepared to take on her special needs, please apply at www.zoeshouserescue.com Kennel license 9117 P.O.Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Story
Maggie is about a year-old pug/Jack Russel mix with the brains of a pug (zero) and the energy of a Jack Russel (infinite). She is crate trained and house trained. Maggie does well with cats and absolutely loves other dogs; essentially, she will be friends with any creature that might play with her. Maggie loves any activity that allows her to show off her boundless energy: she’ll play tug or fetch until your arm falls off, she’ll go on long walks (she especially loves being on a trail), or she’ll just use the yard to get her zoomies out. As much as she loves to romp, Maggie is equally at home cuddling up on the couch, either with her humans or her dog friends—or both! She also loves a good sun spot outside, chewing on sticks, and showing off her ridiculous underbite. While she would be an excellent match for children’s energy, she can be a bit mouthy when going for toys, so she should be monitored around very young children.
