Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!My name is Taylor.  I came to the ranch when I was 7 weeks old and have been here for almost 2 years.  I have a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected.  I could wear diapers but I absolutely hate them!!  Here at the ranch I do not have to wear a diaper because they mop and steam floors several times a day but I drip and they don't make me feel bad about it :)I may spend my life here but if I do I will be loved and accepted even though I can't hold my bladder :) I love to give kisses and recieve pets!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!June 17, 2024, 6:57 pm

Story
5 years old   Very petite.  She's adorable and very loving with people.  She loves belly rubs and toys.  She's good with most other dogs, but should be supervised initially until fully acclimated.  She has a high prey drive for cats, chickens or small animals.  She is a jumper and can clear a 3 ft fence and will run if given the opportunity.  Due to her prey drive and running, she requires a home with at least a 4 ft securely fenced in yard to keep her safe.   To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 24, 2024, 10:21 pm

Story
"Looking for someone to be your one and only? Look no further! I am your girl! I like laps and snuggling, and sitting on the porch watching the birds and squirrels. I am a calm lady, not a rowdy puppy. I am about 4-5 years old. When I came to the rescue I had a badly damaged eye from being attacked by another dog. I am extremely wary of other dogs now and I take a long time to warm up to them. I could potentially live with another dog if it is a calm companion who will not pester me. My eye needed to be removed to relieve the pain it caused me. I am feeling so much better now! I am a gentle and sweet dog who likes all people. I am very tolerant and love to be held. I let my foster mom bathe me, brush me, and trim my nails - what lady doesn't love a good spa day? My foster mom says I am a really good girl." Indigo is sweet and affectionate, and craves attention. She was surrendered to the rescue by a commercial breeder because she did not get along with the other dogs at the kennel. She is not picky about her people though, and is a very good natured dog. She has met men, women, and children and was politely happy to greet all of them. Indigo does want to be a lap dog, so someone who enjoys quality couch cuddle time is on this girl's Must Have list. She is learning to play with toys, but still isn't sure what she is supposed to do with them. Indigo walks well on a leash. She is used to a fenced yard, but could adapt to leash walking for potty breaks. While Indigo is does not have accidents in her foster home, she is still newly house broken and her adoptive family should expect to continue teaching her to go potty outside. Accidents in the house are common in dogs who have just been adopted. Indigo is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been treated with monthly parasite preventatives. She is being fostered in southern Lancaster county PA and prospective families must be willing to come to her foster home twice. Once to meet her with all members of the family, including resident dogs, and once more to take her home. Ready to meet Indigo? Go online to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application! We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
"Hi there! I am Marina! I'm 5 years old and recently came to Zoe's House Rescue. I arrived with an eye injury that was very painful. My eye was blind from the injury and could not be saved. I had surgery to remove it and have healed well. It is a big relief not to be in pain anymore! I am friendly and happy to meet people. I am learning some manners in my foster home, like not putting my paws up on people unless I'm invited. I just want to be as close to my people as I can get! I am fostered with other dogs and I am mostly indifferent to them, but I do enjoy hanging out in the yard and sunbathing with my foster sisters. I'm not a roughhouser and I'm just beginning to learn about toys. I like to take easy walks with my foster dad, and sniff all the things in the yard!" Marina was surrendered by her breeder and has lived her whole life in a kennel environment. She has done very well acclimating to a home! She loves to lounge around on any soft surface she can get to and is a great snuggler. Marina is newly house broken and although she has done well, her adoptive family will need to give her plenty of opportunities to go out side. Accidents are normal in new environments. Marina is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and negative for heartworm. Upon intake, she tested positive for lyme disease and has had a full course of antibiotics to treat this. She is energetic and happy, and shows no complications since having her damaged eye removed. Ready to meet our sweet Marina? Go online to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application! We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Kennel License #9117 PO Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Story
Bandit, came to us along with Buddy and Hershey because their owner had stage 4 lung cancer and could no longer care for them. She's super scared and sweet and you just want to help her. The man kept these dogs in crates for seven years. Everything is over stimulation for her. Overall she’s doing very well considering her entire world has been erased and there's so much around new to get used to. She is very very sweet. I believe she’s half bull dog—she has the bull dog snort. She weighs 38 lbs. She lived with other dogs in her life ---both males and females and she lived another male and a cat in her foster home. At first she wasn’t overly friendly with the dogs here but has adjusted after a slow introduction. Bandit is spayed, up to date with vaccinations, and microchipped. She is also housetrained. She is also missing one eye, which causes her no problem. If interested in Bandit contact applications@boxertransfer.org
