Story
Dooley is a 7.5-year-old Boston Terrier. He's about 20 lbs. He's very healthy and active. He loves to play fetch. He has all of his shots up to date except for Bordetella. Tempermentally, he is very active and playful. He will snuggle up next to you on the couch. He loves to play fetch and tug-of-war, even with the Bernadoodle that we have. He will sleep in the bed right next to you. He loves to be your buddy and to be close to you at all times. He's a very warm and a very friendly dog with adults. We're looking for a new home for Dooley because we have a little one on the way and he has a history of aggressive behavioral issues. He is not friendly with other dogs and consequently does not have a good track record around children. While he has not broken the skin he has nipped at a friend of mines child and shown aggression towards my young nephew. This is an extremely difficult decision but we think it is for the best. Please reach out with any questions.

Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet shy girl seeking love and safety! OLGA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Olga         Best Guess for Breed:   Boston terrier and other terrier type mix  Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of May 2026         SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:   19 lbs as of 5/1/26; she is underweight at this weight   Gets Along With:  Olga does well with other dogs and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog. We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Olga loves playing with her foster siblings! Special adoption considerations:   Because Olga is shy, she needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes.    Olga is Looking For:  This sweet girl was found by the side of the road in South Carolina. She was underweight and scared - and she has firmly closed that chapter. She's now ready to seek her forever family - kind humans who understand that she has not seen enough of the world and needs extra patience and support to navigate new places. She also needs a friendly resident dog who will show her how to dog.    Most of all, she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved for all her days. In exchange, she promises so many adoring gazes and loyal companionship. What do you say? Are you her fresh start? Is she the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:   Olga has been the sweetest addition to our little pack. First too scared to look at me or walk on her leash, she warmed up quickly and started to trust. Once she met my dogs, she began exhibiting play behavior, and now she can’t be stopped!! She likes to play by herself with a bone or ball, but is also learning to play fetch and chase my dogs around. Shes a super fast learner, almost fully potty trained and is still working on the crate. She has shown no interest in shoes, socks, furniture or anything destructive— she really just wants to be held, cuddled and played with. Olga will definitely do best in a home with a friendly resident dog looking for a playmate, and a low-noise environment. If I had the space, I’d keep her!  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
He was dropped on the side of the road about 1 1/2 years ago. He is aprox. 3 years old now. I was going to take him to the pound but decided to keep him. He is a happy dog full of energy and a lot of personality. He listens, he is house trained, and he loves being close to people. He's also very eager to ride in anything that moves. He'd jump on a motorcycle if he could. He is very territorial and will bark when he hears an "intruder" outside. He does not do well with new dogs in/or around his "home" but seems to do fine with female dogs. He is not good with cats.

Story
Truffle was found in Appalachia on top of a mountain with her two six-month-old pups (Twix and Taffy). The ACO believed they were dumped there! So someone drove up the mountain to abandon them? Were they hoping or expecting no one would find them? It is hard to fathom. Notwithstanding this cruelty, Truffle has never met a stranger. The ACO told us that she was a wonderful dog who is full of love and affection – and boy was he ever right! Truffle is a complete love and anyone who adopts her will be so lucky to have such a terrific companion. She is also a very smart dog and interested in learning. She also is very gentle in taking treats. Truffle was also a wonderful mom to her pups and managed to keep them safe. Let us know if you would like to meet Truffle – she would love to say hello. Story
Introducing, Rooster! Rooster is 3 years old and 15 lbs. He was found as a stray and sadly no one came looking for him. Rooster has been spending time in an awesome foster home. His foster mom reports: "Rooster (who we lovingly call Roo or RooRoo- he is picking up on his name) is a chi-mix through and through. Roo completely bonds with his owner and is ready for his forever person to cuddle with, play with, and protect. He is a feisty little guy with other dogs out and about and takes a while to warm up to new people, but once he decides you are his person, he will be by your side (or on your lap) as often as possible. I’ve had the privilege of being his temporary chosen person and he has given me so much love in return. He sits on my lap all day while I work, with some potty and play breaks of course. Roo is house-trained, and benefits from a consistent walk schedule. He would love to come with you to work or work from home with you! He does well with my dog and cats, even when his jealousy comes out and he places himself right in between me and them. He takes a bit to warm up and trust other creatures/humans, but if you give him the time, you will have a forever best friend." Interested in learning more about Rooster? Apply at www.novapetsalive.org/adopt. *Rooster is neutered, up to date on vaccines, was given dewormer and monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.
