Jojo is being fostered in Illinois. She has some vision. Hi. My name is Jojo. I am a 4-year-old boxer mix. I like to think of myself as a playful happy-go-lucky gal. I may not see you well because close objects are like shadows and a little blurry to me, but I know you are there. I get along well with all the cats and dogs in my foster home. I like cats. But I may need slow introductions with little feisty dogs. But I would love to go to a home that has many friendly 4-legged buddies. I like to be active and meet people and other dogs. However, I am not too good with children because a lot of time kids either approach me too fast or gather around me, which makes me so scared that I have to give a warning snap. But I do love my walks. Even more, I love an open field that I can have all to myself so I can let out a lot of my energy. At home, I like to relax and sit at my spot while my foster daddy is doing his work. Everyday, I get to be petted and it makes me feel loved. I am housebroken. However, every once in a while, I have accidents because anxiety gets the best of me when I realize my foster dad has not been home for a while. I will do well in a home where someone is present 90-95 percent of time, perhaps with someone who works out of home or is an active retired person. Blind Dog Rescue has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Found in the woods in Poinciana just a few months ago, he’s come a long way and is ready for a home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood. He’s fully vetted (neutered, up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative, and on yearly prevention) and has great basic manners—Chopo is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and knows sit. He also does great for baths and absolutely lives for cuddle time. He is approximately 65-70 lbs. Chopo is a playful, energetic boy who can be a little hyper at times, but it’s all part of his charm. He’s great with kids and loves being around his people. When it comes to other pets, Chopo will need a thoughtful home. He can be nervous and requires slow introductions with other dogs. He also shows resource guarding (food, bones, and toys) around other dogs, so he would do best as the only pet or with an experienced owner who can properly manage and train through those behaviors. He may also mark indoors if he smells another male dog. He’s curious about cats but hasn’t been fully tested. Chopo has also overcome some medical challenges—he received eye surgery for an entropion and an ulcer—and is now healthy and ready to thrive.
