Peggy Bon Bons, a.k.a. Maggie, is a 5 year old pit/boxer mix. Her owner passed away and he had no family near that could take her. She is 5 years old. She's picky about other animals, so she would need to be tested if you're interested and have an animal at home. She weighs 51 pounds. Meet Rae - This silly sweetheart is a whole lot of personality wrapped up in one goofy body. Rae recently finished her heartworm treatment and is now ready to focus on what really matters—finding her forever family! She’s house trained, adores kids, and hasn’t met a toy she didn’t absolutely love. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a squeaky plush, or just clowning around, Rae is always ready to bring the fun. If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion with a big heart and even bigger personality, Rae just might be your girl!

Story
This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.- Loves people and companionship - Tends to be an introvert around other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups of dog friends; may not be comfortable at dog parks or at large, dog-friendly events (dog intro recommended) - Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home- Needs a teens-and-up home right nowAll adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 58 Age: 3yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
- Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home- Once she feels comfortable she likes to stick close to her people - Knows sit and lay down - Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and her human companion said she was very calm and sweet and walked great on a leash- Not a fan of loud noises, and may also be uncomfortable with bikes whizzing by when out on walks - Has been very uncomfortable around children while in our care, even kids who are a little bit older, so she is looking for a home with more mature family members- Can be socially awkward and unsure around other dogs and may be choosy about her dog friends (dog intro required) - We don't know her history with cats - May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program.
